1:27 i said i paid £200 for this... i didn't. Basically i purchased this along with my evangelion 3.0+1.11 4k blu-ray which together came at £199.98. I purchased this on its own for £149.99 11:49 i said it came out in 1991 it didn't it came out 1990. The movie came out in 1991
At 11:54 it says, "Don't worry, both releases are identical," which is false because they're not. The audio is worse than the audio in the US version. The art on the discs is lackluster compared to the American discs. For some reason, they've used five discs instead of the eight that the Americans use. Basically, using more discs has a better chance of making the picture quality look good instead of compressing the whole series onto one disc, like, for instance, all these Blu-rays in this video equal five discs total. MVM made a complete set and basically just took these same discs and put them into a chunky Amaray case (no change, just the complete set but using the old discs which are all copies of the Australian hanabee releases in one chunky Amaray case). The US version also had single Blu-ray case releases like the UK for each individual season and did what the UK did and compressed seasons 2 and 4 onto just one disc but seasons 1 and 3 are on 2 discs / the uk season 1 also has 2 discs (they later changed this, however, by bringing out a complete set like the UK did, but instead of using the same discs, they remastered them, and each season got two discs). So after I filmed this video, I didn't know any of this. I just sold all of these and bought the complete UK version. But as I am typing this, I have sold the complete UK set (which I have not unboxed on camera) and have purchased the new 2023 release (yes, for some reason, the US made two complete set releases).
Your complaining about this prop made me think of the BBC 1980s comedy show, “The Young Ones” 😂 This is what would have happened if the character, “Neil”, would have bought an animatronic witch.🧙 I can hear him now, “Even this witch prop hates me.. I think, maybe if I were to, like, die, then maybe it would start working like it’s supposed to. Vivian!! Animatronic machinery is ganging up on me! Techno-fear!!”
Pretty sure マクロスプラス releases were more expensive on LaserDisc way back when, given that I bought them on LaserDisc, way back when they were still new and fresh. Original MSRP on volumes 2,3 and 4 were ¥7573, Volume 1 had an even more expensive release that came with a box to hold all 4 LaserDiscs which was extremely difficult for me to find given that I live in California. But, let's pretend I didn't pay a premium on imports (which I did) and they were all the 7573¥ x 4 = 30,292¥ (which they weren't because it was more due to the aforementioned Volume 1 box higher price release) in early 1990s exchange rate prices (approximately 93.96¥ to 1 USD in 1995, so what, $322.39 then adjusted for inflation to 2024 = $665.93 USD, converted to GBP=£503.90). Meanwhile, that is more than the "Macross Plus - Sharon Apple Deluxe Edition Blu-ray + Vinyl LP" which was announced which is even more expensive than this Blu-Ray that you are whining about which has a preorder price for £191.66 and $299.99 in the USA. Macross II, which I also backed, is not good.
It's cheaper than the Japanese "Complete Edition" which is the only thing comparable. This has the full Manga dub included if you care about dubs. The packaging looks great. Seems like if you've bought Macross merch from Japan over the years you'd be used to paying a little more for premium quality products.
Since the video I managed to get every part sealed with there original info sheet. The only info sheet I couldn't get was the one that sticks too the Big storage box
For years, I held off buying the Japanese editions hoping for a US/UK release. As soon as I saw this price, i went and bought the Japanese editions w/ english subs from book off (used) and imported them. :/
hey I’m sorry to bother you, I’m looking all over the internet to find all the resero limited edition content (including Japanese and other versions of the blue ray), but it has been extremely confusing with how many versions they are. Therefore I wanted to ask, is this specific collector edition exclusive to the UK ?, because I can’t seem to find any other information bout it apart from literally 1 uk article and 1-2 sellers in eBay UK, there is literally nothing in any other part of the world for this specific version (and not for less than 400 pounds)
4kids made it even worse since the old man made the same face and said: "Ahhh you remind me of my granddaughter". Me: AYO PAUSE you looked at your granddaughter like that?!😨
While it sucks when you have a bad day at a theme park, it’s also refreshing to see a negative and realistic vlog every once in a while. All of the Alton Towers vlogs are all sunshine and rainbows and they get to go on everything but this is (while not all the time) more realistic to what it’s actually like.
