Sir, thank you very much for excellent explanation.... Can I use dummy binary variable (independent) to see the impact on dependent. I tried the same in STATA but the coefficient of variable of interest found to be zero as it has been omitted. What may be the reason?
just for sharing, in time 31.32 for anyone may get the result in optimum selected bandwidth different from the value 9.654 as in this video due to "mass points detected in the running variable" just try to add masspoints (off) because the default masspoints option is masspoints (adjust), so then you will get same result, hope it is usefull🙏
izin bertanya bapak, variabel nearinc ini kan variabel dummy 1 atau 0 yang menunjukkan rumah yg dekat dengan tempat pembakaran sampah dan nol yang jauh. Yang ingin saya tanyakan bapak, variabel ini kan memiliki nilai baik pada tahun 81 dan 78. Berarti di tahun 78 sudah ada kelompok treatment dan kontrol ya pak? meskipun saat itu belum ada TPS? matur nuwun bapak
Variabel dummy treatment tersebut memberi definisi kelompok terekspos TPS dan kelompok yang tidak terekspos TPS, sehingga bisa tracking kelompok yang sama antar waktu, sebelum (78) dan sesudah (81) TPS terbangun.

i have questions for the fuzzy RDD. 1. why do we have to generate variables above and below? 2. what is the importance of the 2 variables? do the p value have to significant or how? 3/ so on the first stage of the 2sls, the treatment status is dependent on centered running variable and the treatment assignment. but why is the IV only (scholar=eligible)? don't we have to input the centred running variable? the c_pretest? hope you don't mind answering my questions. thank you
at 2:06:34 , multicollinearity could explainthe reason between why the model is significant. However, how can we know that it is only multicollinearity and not perfect collinearity, thus we must discard the variable to adhere to MLR assumption 3?
Hello, thanks for watching. You can check in Stata using the "collin" syntax after the regression and analyze the VIF. As long as the VIF does not exceed 10, then you shouldn't worry about the issue of multicollinearity. Modern software would recognize perfect collinearity, and would drop one of the variables. However, potential perfect collinearity can be avoided before hand during the building of specification.
