So, the gas oven only goes so far in dehydration. I'm currently trying to figure this out for energy efficiency purposes. Maybe Gas then finish with electric if a person would want it "more dry?"
Still looking for your return if it becomes possible for you. I can honestly say that of all the homestead type channels I wat h, yours was unique. Your enthusiasm and upbeat demeanor are not matched on any other channel that I have watched. Missing you and praying God's blessings on you and yours.
The cat thing is kind of a dick move. Cats are really meant to be leashed. Yet everyone eats bunnies so a proper enclosure seems like the proper route.
Been researching how to make a colony that will hold up to the bears and bobcats up where I live. Wish I could do something as loose as you but they'd be bear food in a week. Right now mine live in cages inside a brick building but they are safe from predators and air conditioned in the hot summers. Looking at a sort of raised colony system inside a barn eventually, with a couple feet of dirt inside what would basically be a giant cage.
Rewatching I just realized you said "Did you guys leave me" as they played in the leaves😅. Still hoping when life settles down, that you will be able to post again. You were truly my favorite content maker. Praying that all is well with you and the children. 😊
I originally had a novel I was writing to you and decided on this instead: Please prepare food on counters... that's what they were made for. If you have too much clutter on your counters to make a video... throw everything on the counter in a box and give yourself the appropriate room and sanitary location to prepare and make a fantastic video. I wanted to listen to the important things you were sharing but I just couldn't get past why the heck you were preparing food on the floor. (busy mom is my guess since I've been in your shoes before but... don't post a public video trying to educate others if your not prepared yourself.) Put your best foot forward. : ) I only say these things because the world is cruel and nasty... I am only hoping to watch future videos' of yours without all the distractions. Take that with a grain of salt... maybe I'm the only one who couldn't hear what you were saying because of all the distractions.
Thank you for running the numbers I have often thought many "so Called" thrift stores are charging much more used jars than they are really worth and that is sad. How can it this be helpful to homemakers?
I often eat lambs quarters while weeding. I love me some spinach but it is hard to grow comparatively. So, free greens while working. I totally agree that it's satisfying to clean the beds up and know that you are helping to feed yourselves.

I told the ladies at the library that I was going home to cook some broccoli for my supper. The next time I saw them I told them I made it, I burned, it, I ate it.

This video would have been MUCH better without the music (why add this loud distracting sound?). The borers can girdle and kill the tree. They don't have the impact on the fruit that was described in the first 20 seconds of the video. Perhaps she meant to say they damage the *tree* "from the inside out" as opposed to the "fruit".
My kids trained the ckicks by pointing at the mosquitoes in front of the baby chicks and giving them mosquitoes that they caught and brought down to them.
I don't buy so many at once. 2.5kg bag max. But I bought 2.5kg some weeks ago from one supermarket and they lasted three weeks in the cold garage without sprouting (I'm in England, by the way.) Even the last couple of potatoes had only the tiniest sprouts beginning to show. These were Maris Piper spuds. So then I bought 2.5kg Maris Piper in a different supermarket, am storing them in exactly the same place in the garage, and they are sprouting already! However, a study by the University of Lincoln found conclusively that sprouting potatoes can be eaten without causing harm. I am roasting mine in the air fryer. Once roasted, they keep in the fridge for two days and I eat them with an egg and bacon for breakfast or with pan fried fish for lunch. But sprouts on potatoes have always been a problem. I only cook for myself, so I need to keep the uneaten raw potatoes for at least a week. Freezing must be possible, because I can buy frozen roast potatoes in the supermarkets.
I just read some advice on free breeding: that you then need to give each doe 50 square feet each of space (excluding the shelters, water bowls etc), and 20 square feet for the buck. And keep the shelters at least 3 feet apart. So if you have less space, free breeding is not possible. So then you would have to keep the buck separate, and take the does to him for breeding.
