Hi! I'm going into IB Y2 and I just wanted to ask you if you have any tips/resources for economics because I really struggled with it in Y1 (esp P2). Thank you so much for making these videos, they're really helpful!!
Hi!! As someone who is going to start her IB journey this year, I am so grateful that you shared your experiences and resources with us :) I have the same electives as you, Bio, Econ and BM haha Once again, Thank You Jasmine!!
Can you do a video on how you applied and what your PGs were? What are the actual cut off scores for an IVY league universities?I heard that 38+ is generally considered good. But from your experience and your classmates, what is the realistic pgs score you would say out of 42? (* not inclusive of the TOK and EE points*)
ahh good luck!! just remember that no matter what happens you’ve worked super hard to finish the ib, and your score really doesn’t matter later on ahah
if you have really good teachers then yes, you probably won’t need many resources, but chances are there will be at least one subject where what your teacher provides just isn’t enough - also you’ll need more than just teachers’ lessons when it comes to revision for final exams
Congratulation!!! I have economics HL, Math AIL HL and Spanish B SL and girl i'm struggling in math and Spanish so bad do you know any study methods or resources that can help me out??? I've just finished IBDP-1. i'll be in DP 2 in a few months and I need all the help I can get<3
for spanish i found immersion to be super important - i watched 200+ hours of spanish movies + tv shows (always spanish subtitles, sometimes spanish audio too) which helped so much with vocab, understanding fast speech, speaking naturally etc, and it’s super fun hehe for math i’d suggest revision village, getting a tutor + consistent practice above anything - i have a full video on ib math up on my channel :)
Hope you keep sharing more videos about books you read. I personally myself do not quite read, but I might as well do if I happen to find something interesting.
tbh I was mostly only involved with the more academic/career societies but i enjoyed events and projects with enactus, econ soc, women in econ, tedxwarwick, and wbs society!
hello! I finished my AI HL math paper 1, 2, and 3 exams recently, and im not confident at all. I made silly mistakes through out, and im really scared, I literally worked my ass off for math, but it ended up not going as planned, even though the paper was over all "easy" ,did you feel a sense of uncertainty after your exams as well? Great content btw!
i totally feel you!! tbh i felt that way after so many of my exams and it ended up being fine - try not to overthink it too much and remember that the grade boundaries usually end up being pretty low for math anyway!
i can't really give you a definitive yes or no lol but i'd say it depends on your plans after high school - whether you want to go to uni, where you want to go to uni etc
HI, I really like your videos alot.. But I really want to know How you have made like this for economics, business management, IA and study time? Can you please share that with us ?
hi, thank you! if you mean the other tabs on the spreadsheet, they're the same just with topics from those subjects. for my IAs i just used it to calculate my word count, and the study time was counting my study time per subject each day
i had offers from kcl, edinburgh and strathclyde as well as other unis outside the uk - i chose warwick mainly for my course which they don't do anywhere else + i really liked the campus when i visited! i'd assume one of the biggest differences is ucl being a city uni vs warwick being a campus uni so i'd probably consider what kind of location you'd prefer!
As an ib AI HL student who got a 4 on her mocks, this was really helpful. If possible, could you make a video on dealing with test anxiety or like just tips on how you could deal with the nervousness before an exam? i'm revising pretty well, but i'm still so terrified of the actual ib exams.
could you make a video on the whole IB experience, if it is possible could you show ur grade improvements as well, i luv ur vids and im also an AI HL student wuhuuu
i would normally either refer to the texas instruments website guides, ask my teacher, or watch revision village youtube videos for specific topics - they go through questions using the ti calculators!
Thank you for this video!!! I was able to score 37 points in my mocks however english is my weakest subject I got a 4 in it or I would have gotten 39-40 . Do you have any tips for it I am struggling so badly
english was also one of my worse subjects ahah but i'd say practice lots of past papers especially analysing different types of texts + get feedback from your teacher, and make sure your essay responses are structured well and have the required level of depth in the analysis/evaluation - the 'ib english guys' website is really great for this!
depends on what you're planning on doing in the future - i'm hoping to work in finance/consulting after uni so i found the finance topics and the case study papers (in the old syllabus at least) to be a helpful intro
some unis (e.g. lse) consider econ hl + business hl to be overlapping subjects so a slight disadvantage - check specific unis/countries' requirements though since it can vary. i took econ hl + business sl and didnt have any issues
@@jq4-s would you reccommend bm sl im thinking of taking it or shd i switch to pshychology as my teacher also said u wont learn anything in bm that that u will use irl
@@jq4-s my teacher said that what ill learn in bm wont be applicable irl so shd i still go with it or im thinking of taking psychology. my subjects rn are --- lit/ french and bm sl. and phy eco and math AI hl
i personally enjoyed it and found it quite a practical overview of different topics in business! i haven't taken psychology myself so i can't really say whether that's better but i'd expect it to be a bit more rigorous
I have a request, could you talk more about what to do the summer before DP2 i know the standard stuff i need to get done like TOK, IAS AND EE but what about revising already learnt content or getting ahead in terms of studies for DP2?
i'll definitely make a video on this before the summer! i'd say revising older content is more important than getting ahead but depends a bit on your subject choice as well
I second the resources recommended for math. 3blue1brown is a must! I just so happened to stumble upon his videos during mock exam season (just like you!), and it is amazing how he completely shifted my mindset about math-- it became something I feared, to something I enjoyed.
To everyone starting IB soon, just know that you’re already doing so well just by watching these types of videos! Most students don’t, so I’m sure you’ll do great ❤
Hello, this is my first year of IBDP, and I was wondering if you could give me some tips to getting above a 40. Also how were your marks at the beginning of your IBDP were they bad, moderate, or good? And would you say the generous conversion rate saved you? Sorry if I’m asking too many questions it’s because the stress is real.
hi! if you’re in first year i’d say the most important thing is building good study habits/routines. my marks at the beginning varied quite a bit, for some subjects like math & spanish i was at a 4-5 level but for the others i was mostly getting 6s and 7s. hope that helps and don’t stress too much in year 1, it’ll be ok :)
thank you for this video, solidified everything i learned from my mocks last month! i was wondering if u have any specific tips for finals or if theyd be around the same as those mentioned here?
im glad it helped!! i’d say some of these apply to finals as well except ofc you’d have to do much more thorough revision + the grades matter more. i am thinking of doing a more detailed video for finals though!
