Anyone who is on pc for gaming always complains about a person using a controller or complain about aim assist if aim assist is in the game then it's part of the game 🎮 and the times i have played cod and apex i dont see aim assist kick in that much in apex or in cod and i don't even play cod anymore nor do i want to but if something like this does help then all the power to you and anyone else who is trying it out.
You gotta be careful with the aim training, I got RSI after a few days of aim training in apex firing range. Don’t underestimate how stressful even one hour of aim training is. You probably would not see the same stress in 6 hours of normal gameplay as you will in 1 hour of constant aim training
never tried controller. ever. but now i bought a steam deck and i need to learn. im an oldcel though so i dont think i will improve much this video is absolutely amazing
I was using Kovaaks for a couple months but I recently switched to Aimlabs since Aimlabs supports controller and I feel like my aim has gotten a lot better because actually feels a lot like COD sensitivity. Aim training definitely helps a lot
I’m thinking about doing this to improve my aim on Warzone, can you share how you set it up? Also how do I translate my sens on Warzone settings to kovaaks? Edit: Nevermind, I saw the video you posted to show how to set it up for controller. Thanks!
I have a question tho, how do I match my sens for Kovaaks to Warzone? I know it’s 1:1 for Apex, but I think it’s different for Warzone. Do you by chance know? @@ericjuan0220
Hello! You can convert it by timing (using a phone timer) time to do a 360 turn and adjust it to match. However I wouldn't recommend this because fortnite is in 3rd person, so the fov will always be different and the sens wouldn't feel the same. I would recommend just following the guidelines in the videos to pick a good sensitivity :)
@@luvabbas i suggest not being too caught up on these details and just follow voltaic's progressions. If you're looking to have a perfect 1:1 experience with fortnite then just train on fortnite
This is an amazing video and something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I’ve been playing FPS games since 2007 on controller. When all my friends jumped it PC I made the jump with them and immediately felt the disadvantage against PC players. Over the many years I’ve improved over time and now I can hang and sometimes top drag PC lobbies across different FPS games. This video has inspired me to give aim training a shot as well. Cheers.
so does the controller set up in steam make a difference over the kovaaks settings for controls iv only used the in game settings to change it for a controller
Yeah, they both make a difference. I rather keep one constant and adjust the other one so I don't confuse myself. Keeping the ingame sens at 1.0 valorant was most convenient
Hey, I came across your video and you know what? challenge accepted! I've bought today my first roller DualSense Edge and I've never played roller since ps1. I'm down to track this progression from day 1 to day 30. Wish me luck
Aye bro this may just be a theory but your tendonitis might be caused by using the claw grip you should definitely try changing the way you hold your controller:)
Yo thanks for caring about this 😊 unfortunately playing normal grip puts even more strain on my thumb muscle because it goes in an even more extended position, so sctually claw grip is more comfortable for me
@@ericjuan0220I see because I used to claw and it gave me soreness in my wrist now I just use my back buttons or switch my layout. If claw is more comfortable for u keep w it:)
@@ericjuan0220do you shoot with the bumper buttons? That caused my thumb more extension than necessary and gave me “gamers thumb”. I now have a controller with click triggers so I can leave my hands in the intended controller position, while still having the fast trigger response. I would consider some paddles instead of claw, though honestly even paddles will mess up your hands after a while (repetitive pressing with middle finger), but it’s more sustainable than claw
yo i just wanna thank you for making these videos. i picked up on aim training with a controller and dropped 17 kills last night. it's not much but my shot has been so disgustingly good for the past two weeks. the grind is finally paying off
There’s a flaw tho. There’s no aim assist. Idk if you some Joe figured out how to get it but if you don’t have it then you are technically aiming in a different sensitivity
well, a big point of the video and aim training is a whole is that practicing in a different sensitivity doesn't matter because you're training for joystick control, not for 1:1 to game translation. The most perfect 1:1 translation to the actual game is the game itself.
nah, just hipfire is enough. The point isn't to replicate ingame scenarios 1:1 because that's impossible, if you want the most perfect 1:1 fit then just play the game. We're just here to practice joystick control which is universal :)
hey, i dont have any drift on my controller, checked w gamepad tester, but when i move my joystick my cursor just starts to tweak and continuosly go in one direction how do i fix this
@@OmuFN sounds like your controller's tension is a bit loose so it doesn't fully return to center even when you get your finger off it. It's normal, I would just set my deadzone to 1-3% so it gets less annoying if i don't reset it fully to the center
As someone who played Siege competitively on a controller. The big issue controller suffers is that there is no standardized response curve and it varies massively from game to game Admittedly though. Unlike Apex. Siege had no aim assist
@@ericjuan0220 Tbh linear response curves don't work with me, Joysticks simply don't have the same range of motion as a mouse so when you play linear you either sacrifice fast flicks or fine aim. If games could have standardized or customized response curves like Titanfall 2, that'd be great I'm sure linear is fine for Apex because it doesn't require super fine aim and because of aim assist but it'd never fly for a game like Siege
we're training joystick control with kovaak's. The only difference between hipfire and ads is the fov and sensitivity, which don't change how good you can control your joystick :)
If you have a hand /wrist injury you should really play kbm I broke both of my hands and wrists and ever since I only play kbm as it’s so much more comfortable than gripping a controller
@@ericjuan0220 u somehow can feel pain using a controller with a wrist injury. it prob means u wasnt resting it on a good spot for the wrist to actually relax, using the controller shouldnt of made it feel uncomfortable
@@WhitShiro ah, it's cuz the injury is on the big flesh part of the base of my thumb, so as long as I'm moving the thumb while gripping too tight, it'll become painful
THIS. So I dunno if it's 100% comparable, but I used to play ow2 on Nintendo Switch and my mind was blown by the gyro controls. If you set it up correctly, you can play the game with the controller pointed at your screen almost like you're playing old school Time Crisis light gun arcade game. It honestly felt almost like I was a dirty cheater when playing like that while on a sniper.
@@theoneandonlee These clips were filmed right before starting the Kovaak's challenge. During the Kovaak's challenge, I also took a couple weeks of break to heal my hand injury. The point of the day 0 clips were to establish the fact that I was not very proficient at controller yet, and could only hit shots that were greatly helped by AA. As for the controller, I was a beginner that never touched a controller before, so to me it didn't really matter which controller I was playing on because I'd be equally bad in my aim :)
Apex legends is the only game i can enjoy rn but i just suck with recoil like i have good moments but not enough good moments apparently. Even though on a lot of tasks I do better than 80 percent of players in game I suck ass. Probably just my movement but still sometimes i hit nothing on an easy target.
is there videos you could recommend because after all the practice i put into movement i never improve its my biggest weakpoint in every game@@ericjuan0220
Look up a technique called “recoil smoothing” or “aim smoothing”. It’s very easy to learn to eliminate recoil with controller, then you’ll just have to worry about hitting your shots. It’s more left stick than right stick believe it or not. Aim smoothing will work on mouse too, although you shouldn’t be struggling that much with recoil on mouse
2:13 here you can see you have your joystick behaviour to "Joystick", and you can see the "Mouse Sensitivity" setting in 2:22, but looks like that setting only appears if you have the behaviour set to "Joystick Mouse" but when you change to Joystick Mouse, those deadzone settings at 2:54 no longer appear, those are only if your behaviour is set to "Joystick"
