Honestly I can't remember but i think it's similar to the large eyes classification they used for some of the clone wars TV show minifigures. Just a variation of eye print/designs. 👁 👁
Nice review. Love this set (got it immediately when it came out, sold the minifigures which made the set soooo cheap! 😂). Some people have complained that a lot of the technic pieces being in brighter colours like red and blue, detracts from the look of the build. So much so some have done colour swap guides for replacing those pieces to mute the colour variation down and simplify the look….. I’m actually tempted to lean into it. Seriously considering recolouring large parts of the build to more closely match technic sets I own (the firefighter aircraft, an alt build of the firefighter aircraft as the Sea Duck from Tailspin and a custom V22 Osprey in red, yellow and black). I think a red, black and yellow “rescue” ornithopter could look fun! 😂
Absolutely! That sounds like a fun idea to build an alternative color scheme! I can never bring myself to sell any minifigures, they are almost always my favorite part of any set lol 😆 . Personally the coloring does not bother me one bit. Yes it's an icons set but you're not paying 600+ USD for a flagship UCS set. It's under 200 usd even so overall an incredibly minor and nitpicky complaint for those that perseverate on the colors. I think your idea would look really fun and also show just how well designed the set is regardless of color palette!
