Have you tried everything you can think of to help your child but nothing works? It's not because you're a bad parent. It's because most of the information about helping your child is outdated, doesn't work, and often makes things worse.
Heather went through the same thing with her own daughter's addiction until she found a new approach. She teaches you a collaborative, compassionate, family centered approach. You will learn how to reduce conflict, encourage change in your child, and even repair your relationship. Learn how to set the tone for your family's healing.

Love that acceptance shifts us out of focusing on the problem. ❤

What a brave episode, and there is so much conscious bravery in both of you. You've both changed and are taking action with awareness. This is authentic family recovery, full of ups and downs, and living in the grey area.

Thank you for having Dr. Joan Rosenberg. Her calmness and reassuring manner helps me to Know what I Know - no matter how uncomfortable it is getting there.

Thanks for bringing this way of looking at addiction to light. The CRAFT video is really powerful, as is your commentary. There HAS to be a better way for our communities and families to be able to help our struggling teens and young adults. Shame, stigma, and one-size-fits-all makes everything worse.

This is painful to hear and sadly familiar. It also took me far too long to find alternative approaches, such as CRAFT and your channel. Thank you for your voice and in supporting the concept that parents can trust their deep instincts. Old models of how to treat those with addiction issues can traumatise all involved. I highly recommend Gabor Mate's book "In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts: Close Encounters with Addiction". This book is slightly dated as only AA was well known in that time but everything else is current. It's an incredible read. I love his concept of Compassionate Inquiry; "ask not why the addiction, but why the pain".

My fear shut down my intuition when I was dealing with my daughter’s addiction at first. I stopped listening to my inner voice and turning to people I thought knew the best way. Like you said, the result was traumatic for everyone. I love Gabor Mate too. His RU-vid videos had a big impact on my belief system.
