For me it took a few days to get goot on a Snack Box Micro leverless which I still own. However, it took me more than 2 months to even get the feeling of my Razer Panthera Evo. Now I am switching to a Qanba Titan and spec-ing it out with a proper K-Lever and Gamerfinger buttons to fully commit to a leverless. I figured out that if you want to get good on a lever, you need to get a good lever.

I was gonna get the 8bitdo, but got a Mayflash f500 elite with all Sanwa parts included so I'd have no external excuses for not being able to perform well. I started playing BlazBlue CF and it took a couple weeks to adjust to learning stick, but once I started using a wine glass grip it has begun to feel natural, and I love it. I had started fighting games with leverless on Guilty Gear +R and I totally understand why you can't do stick, the speed and consistency of leverless execution is hard to beat. However the biggest downside to leverless is my fingers get tired fast from motion inputs, whereas with stick I can play much longer, as long as I use proper technique. Now I use both leverless and stick depending on the game, character, and how my fingers feel lol

Too bad man, i have this exact fight stick, switched out both the lever, and buttons, stick for obvious reasons, but the buttons for aesthetics (Blue stick+Buttons was prettier than with red buttons) If you haven't refunded or sold the stick yet, I'd recommend buying a Sanwa JLF lever, and using that instead of the stick thats in there, it was night and day for me... Mind you, i also have a haute leverless, and both are enjoyable to me... Also LMAO at the bit about playing a single game forever just so you can learn one character... Tekken is literally that game man... look at Knee, he has played Tekken for almost his entire life i think...

Sadly I already sold it! haha, I play on the haute42 S16 now and I switched to Bryan & Nina, but sometimes still play Mishima's. Honestly there are so many people in this comment section that just call the leverless cheating, it's true it might be a tad bit easier but without putting on time and effort you can still end up in lower ranks. I think its fundamentals > executions. But yes, knee has been playing I think from the start haha! I in the other hand just plays the game for fun (Fujin with Bryan, 2months back (I stopped ranking lol busy with work)). + I play other games especially FPS and BR games haha. I just noticed in this time slot 9:53 . Isn't changing the layout key and assigning the directional input key to other keys (such as L2, R2, L1, R1) banned when using the leverless controller in tournaments? Since it is a feature that is not supported in-game (ps5 version which is used in tournaments) but the Haute42 framework.

Hello! Don’t quote me on this since I am not a pro player but I did watch some videos about this topic and the people mentioned that just like on ds controllers you can move with both the dpad and L stick (which means you have 2 movement) so if for example I bind one of my button to dpad forward and one as lstick forward that would still be technically valid & not banned. Anyway as for me I just casually stream tekken now and other games so it shouldn’t be much of an issue hehe.

I used the stick since ages, but now I'm on leverless, I think I'll never go back, simply because of the price of replacing the stick piece, 25eu every year, these things tend to deteriorate in time, and also the weight, I carry mine to work every day
@assassinonprozac
@assassinonprozac Месяц назад
If you have to replace your lever every single year you are doing something horribly wrong, when properly maintained arcade sticks will last decades. I beat the shit out of my levers and I’ve had the stock Hayabusa lever in my main stick for over 4 years, not a dime spent on it and still plays like new. Do you just not grease or maintain them in anyway or what? Also, nine times out of ten it’s just a microswitch that needs to be replaced which only cost about $3, you don’t have to throw the whole stick out.
@SimonHenriquez
@SimonHenriquez Месяц назад
@@assassinonprozac i really don't know but after somewhat a year, whenever I went to the training room to see my inputs, some times while doing the same motions that I was doing everyday, some directions, usually the diagonals were not registered, for exemple while doing srk fadc ultra... In that case replacing the stick solved the issue. Never tried to replace or clean the microswitches as I didn't know it was possible xD

I'm ass at arcade stick but I'd suggest playing on a Korean lever like IST Alpha 49S/N (longer throw) or the Crown NewHelpMe (shorter throw). I'm a pad player but been playing on arcade sticks simply because it's fun despite the lack of consistency (something that will improve with time and practice). I find leverless efficient but super boring to play on. Feels too much like typing and I do enough of that for work anyway so that's more of a personal gripe lol.

Also use good parts. Knock off parts are GARBOLOGY 101. I had the standard Madcatz SF4 stick back in th day it didn't use Sanwa parts and had shit form factor that hurt my wrists. Put me off from actually learning stick until earlier this year. Even the Otto DIY mod can make a stock JLF feel a bit more premium alongside a higher tension spring.

if you are playing kazuya you need a korean style lever. which means even if you got a more expensive stick you would have to add a knee lever or a korean lever which is battop, high tension to return to neutral quickly and a circular or no gate. Wound up getting a haute42 to try out leverless, though I'm not dropping it entirely just yet I don't think it'll replace my stick as my main controller. I swapped my Sanwa parts into a qanba drone 2 for easier carrying. Definitely agree there's a lot of consistency issues with cheap parts though. Honesty even just modding the 8bitdo with a basic jlf lever (probably costs like 30 bucks) would do wonders. It feels infinitely better. Edit: after seeing your other comments etc. I'd like to mention I'm a mishima main as well, meaning my stick ability is advanced i.e. kbd and wavedashing, iws cancelling etc. on both sides. I started off with Qanba Q1 with Sanwa JLF and buttons. Then, I moved to the Qanba Pearl with the IST Knee lever with black rim Sanwa buttons. I have a leverless too, but I always prefer the feel of using a lever controller instead. I use my Korean lever (the snapping back to neutral really quick helps) mainly for Tekken and the Sanwa JLF for 2D fighters. For movement, it takes putting in the time to practice to get it down consistently. For a future video, I suggest purchasing a fightstick already with Sanwa/Hori parts.

Fun fact, Tekken 8 was designed with any controller in mind! That’s why all types of controllers are supported (even says so in the controller settings of Tekken 8), and it wasn't even released in arcades, so people can do as they please. If leverless controllers were a 'cheat,' they would have been banned in international events. Cronus devices are used for aim hacks (tracks the enemy) which is totally different from using a leverless. Leverless just makes inputs easier (like using a keyboard), while sticks are more fun and better for fundamental movement (as PhiDX said). The real cheat controller is probably the new hybrid from Hitbox that mixes a lever and movement buttons, and it got some backlash for that. So, it’s all about personal preference and play style!
@funkrates4778
@funkrates4778 3 месяца назад
I agree. But maybe I’m an old head. I played fighting games first in the arcade before console. I hated the d-pad. It felt all wrong. I always believed that fighting games should only be played on lever, making everyone play on the same playing field. When lever less came out, it took away the skill requirement that levers bring to the game. On another note, you can play Tekken on Japanese levers. The best lever is the lever you’re used to. It doesn’t matter if it’s Korean or Japanese. All that matters is that you have developed the muscle memory. Plenty of Japanese players doing very well in Tekken with Japanese levers. The problem here is that the guy in the video never played on an arcade stick before and expected to master it in a week. That will never happen. You’re going to have to put about 1,000 hours on that arcade stick to master it or if not not feel comfortable with it.
@alenavila11
@alenavila11 3 месяца назад
@@funkrates4778 That's right! I am a new comer, I did not specifically said master; maybe just be decent with it of some % of consistency. I just did not get what I wanted to feel, its not really because the stick sucks but maybe it was because I came from Keyboard which makes leverless an easy pick up. I am still fine to play any other character with stick except for the one I wanted in this video (Mishima's). But yes I said it in the video too, consistency was just not all about it. My dog sleeps in my lap a lot and I only play good with stick when I play it on my lap. While on leverless, I can play at desk with my dog sleeping on my lap. + Personal Pref and Exp too I guess! :D

@@alenavila11I think the difference here is a little bit of bad luck. I don't know how much research you went through for buying sticks, but your haute42 and the 8bitdo stick really aren't comparable. The haute42 is legit goated. It's so good for so cheap, where the razer kitsune and similar leverless are just overpriced compared to the haute. The haute does everything they do and more with little weaknesses besides lack of native ps5 support. But the 8bitdo really isn't in the running for arcade sticks we recommend for lower price ranges. It's a casual stick. We'd usually recommend stuff like hori's real arcade pro series, or their fighting stick alpha, or even a cheaper mayflash with Sanwa parts like an f300 elite or something.

the stick he got is trash but in all fairness even the 200 to 400 sticks everyone always swaps levers buttons etc out so basically you are paying for a shell. i want a tekken stick right out of the box ie a korean lever which is battop with tight tension, no gate or circular gate. only company to ever make one is in south korea which is an etokki korean stick
@justinli826
@justinli826 2 месяца назад
@@RichiePajooh-r8i No, they don't swap the sticks out because they're bad, they swap it out because of preference. Any stick that is at the minimum using Sanwa parts will be just as reliable and consistent as anything else, beyond that it's a matter of preference. If you like Korean sticks that's fine, but don't act like it's the only holy grail for Tekken that could ever pass for use. If you want proof of consistency for Tekken, Perfect god fist does insane kazuya execution on a stock hori rap v. The main man uses a stock razer panthera and has good and consistent execution. Jimmyjtran is famous for insane Bryan execution and used a stock qanba dragon throughout his entire Tekken career. Pling also uses the stock qanba dragon. Learning curve of stick is steep compared to Leverless. But stick will always have the advantage on movement when mastered. The difference is night and day if you compare the movement of Tekken 8 pros who use stick and pad/leverless. It's way easier to do things like Shaheens snk cancel on a stick then leverless. In T7 Leo knk cancel is much easier on stick.

If you want a stick for Tekken, Korean Lever is the way to go because the rubber helps with being more precise for neutral input, they are more stiff so it helps for better control for your inputs as well. Japanese sticks help better for 2D games like SF6 where you only need to worry about 8 directions and motion inputs so having a springy, light stick helps for that. @@alenavila11 ohhh, ok then, but have you checked model numbers? cause I saw that you didnt get it as a kit but as single sticks. it might happen with single sticks that they are different versions and have different parts

like yea it’s a few fps but if u paid the extra for the faster ram, it’s kind of a scam if u cant use it on that speed, thats why i choose 3200 cl16, i figured that was plenty of an upgrade from 2400 cl16 and also doubled the capacity

@@saenea5249 I checked they have the same model and even says 3600mhz / cl16. We figured it was a bad bin. It felt lowkey a scam but the shop online offered to replace. But i have no time to wait for the replacement : ( but its okay:)

Amazing setup, keep building it and working on it. Really similar to mine, I'm 19 from Romania, also have been building mine for quite a few years now, and it's really cool to see a setup tour, which is close to what I have achieved. Always worked on a budget, and usually made similar choices, my cpu's also overkill for my gpu, but I'm right before an upgrade so I'm gonna sort that out finally.
