Most (not all) of the SWAC drumlines sound so janky. They have a lot of dirty indistinguishable cadences. Sounds like they’re randomly beating on pots and pans. IJS
NSU is my favorite HBCU drumline but I'm personally not a fan of mentioning another line at the expense of a battle that's taking place. More than likely the people who came to this battle wanted to see it and have an appreciation for this style.
Right but this is where this suffers from. I balance heads sound dirty, not enough parts and chops being played in certain areas sounds really elementary on the quint part marching in jist so many things wrong here
@ShadowballJT NSU really gets under the skinn of Cold Steel. Get ready 2023...NSU Spartan Legion is now the "hunted". They have a game at Ts State this year...from OG-MDFS member
Need to get rid of Mr. Barnes as percussion instructor, need some body even better than him, like Scott Kratzer, he was an assistant band director for the MHS band at one time, if not the new percussion instructor, Kratzer SHOULD be hired as new head band director at MHS, and Antonio Altman demoted or asked to step down as head band director, and keep Steve Stringer as an assistant to Kratzer, but Barnes SHOULD NOT return as percussion director
If I come to another MHS home football game again, I had BETTER NOT See those god awful tenor drums EVER again, they DO NOT belong in the MHS marching band at all, it's as plain and simple as that, all the MHS marching band NEEDS is the snare drums, with the exact same carriers as the quads, the quads themselves, and the bass drums, also with the exact same carriers as the quads, AND DO NOT USE the straps on the snare drums or the bass drums, I CANNOT stand them and they look totally unprofessional, if Tom Fraschillo saw what the band looked like now, he'd be EXTREMELY HORRIFIED because the color of the drumheads don't match at all, the drumheads on the snares, quads, and bass drums SHOULD BE all one color, preferably the black Evans brand drumheads on the snares, quads, and the bass drums
Boy shut ur ass up you sound dumb asf this isn’t a corps style band this is hbcu so if you don’t know what the hell ur talking about just keep ur stupid comments to urself
These drums that our drumline are playing here TOTALLY SUCK!!!!!! This is the honest truth, It's sad, but it's true, the ONLY drums that sound decent are the quads, the snares and bass drums sound PATHETIC, there's NO SOUND to them at all, I hope to see a whole new band directing staff for the MHS Marching band this coming football season, new head band director as well as new assistants, if you ask me, I think Steve Stringer SHOULD BE the head band director for the MHS marching band again
Then they NEW heads on the bass drums, the PROPER color for the bass drums NEEDS to be black, as well as black heads for the quads and the snare drums, plus, the bass drummers & the snare drummers NEED to wear the proper carriers when carrying their snares and bass drums, that is the EXACT same carriers that the quads use on their drums, with absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS WHATSOEVER
Lmao 🤣 grew up seeing them in Person, Watts... when people see Jackso State drumline live, that's when they inderstand why they've been going by War & Thunder for decades. Power n Groove.
@@BladeHudson RU-vid does NOT do these guys justice. I thought they were the most overrated line until I saw them in person. Now they're my second favorite, a close second to Norfolk State.
I DO NOT believe in the changing of the times, if ya'll had any sense, you'd stand with me and NOT believe in the changing of the times, Mr. Barnes has got to be relieved of his duties as percussion director, as well as Antonio Altman and his other assistant directors for the MHS Band, because the band has gotten WORSE AND WORSE over the years, the ONLY way our marching band will be ANY BETTER is to have a white head band director, preferably Steve Stringer, I think he SHOULD BE the head band director for the MHS band again
Kevin Rose change is bound to happen sooner or later thts the way of life sir🤨and ur mad because we have more diversity within the Drumline and it’s something we enjoy doing Mr.Altman and Barnes are great directors that are helping us grow through music
Plus, the snare drummers AND the bass drummers NEED to wear the EXACT SAME carriers as the quads, that's another thing that HAS TO CHANGE before the 2019 football season
First impression: Meridian came in sloppy and the band directors had to tell each section where to go. CWay's drum section came in looking a lot more disciplined and got in place without help.
