I'm Jaz and I have an Etsy shop by the name of JeweledByJaz and I created this channel to share some of the tips, tricks, and processes that I use to create some of my items and also to network with fellow DIYers!
@@shildapressley6362 no I haven't used epoxy. Might not be a bad idea for the half pearls since the coating could peel over time but I've never tried it before.
Hello! In this video I used e6000. I use e6000 only when I don't feel like sanding my cups. If I sand them then I use liquid fusion because it has a much less toxic smell but adheres at its best only when the cups have been sanded. 🥰
Hello! Thanks so much for watching! 🥰 All materials used are linked in the description and for the decor pieces (like the chanel pieces), I got them from a website called: jeniscabsanddiysupplies.com but I will link that as well. Thanks again for watching!! ❤
Hi!! I'm so sorry for the late response!! I took a hiatus to work on my health! So sorry!! Yes you can but you will have to sand it with Sandpaper first to help the stones adhere because on smooth surfaces the stones could peel off. E600 could help them stick on smooth surfaces but for longer lasting results, it's best to sand the surface. Hope this helps! 🥰❤
Do you also sand and clean the cap to use liquid fusion or do you just clean it and use the E600? I want to rhinestone the cap but wasn’t sure if it’s the same process or different
Hi Lyndsay! So I have done them both ways but if I was ever in a rush I just cleaned the lid and used e6000. For the times that I used liquid fusion on the lid I have always used a rotary tool to sand with because of how smooth the lid is and those textured edges on the lid. Then I cleaned & dried and the liquid fusion was perfect! If you don't sand the lid and use liquid fusion it will definitely stick, but not for long. The whole thing will just peel off.
@@jeweledbyjazdiy Thank you!! So I’d sand and clean if using liquid fusion. I’d just need to clean & dry if I was using E600. The LF I’m guessing needs some texture to adhere to
Hi Jazmin! The resin rhinestones are really good but I also love the glass rhinestones! I used my own rhinestones back when I used to sell them but if I ever ran out I bought from Amazon. I will leave a link for some of the best quality resin rhinestones and glass rhinestones in the description!!
Hello!! My apologies for the late response. The tool is a rhinestone wax pick up tool. I just listed a link in the description of this video and it will take you right to the tool. I also listed the link below but wasn't sure if it would take you there. Hope this helps! 🥰 amzn.to/42sBQBS
Hey girl in your experience which glue would be better for a thermos/ thermal cup .i want to make a gift for someone and i want it it to be good quality glue sp the rhimestones dont fall off when washing. Also do you use resin or glass rhimestones?
Heyyyy!! Sorry I'm late 😔 but for long lasting results, I recommend e6000 but make sure you're in a well ventilated space and use a face mask. The fumes can be a bit much. Also, make sure you sand your cup with sand paper first and then wash and dry it. (With stainless steel surfaces you don't always have to sand, especially when using e6000 but always make sure to either wash and dry first or rub it down with rubbing alcohol & let dry before blinging.) For the rhinestones, I like both however the glass rhinestones sparkle a lot more than the resin but they are also more fragile since it's glass. If you drop a cup made with resin rhinestones it's less likely to have breaks or cracks but if you accidentally drop the glass stones they could crack and break. Resin is beautiful but the sparkle of the glass is on another level! 💎💎💎 Hope this helps 🥰❤
Hi Ellie! That's awesome!! Yes, you can go line by line from top down and start a circle the closer you get to the logo or you can start with the logo and bling about 3 or 4 circular rows and then go to the top and start blinging line by line from top to bottom. Happy Blinging 💎🥰
What do you think would be easier for first timer? Completely going around the cup In Rows or starting with the circle and going up a few rows then starting for the stop? It’s going around the circle and then starting from the top that scares me just incase it doesn’t the rhinestones don’t match up x
@@elliegray1849 When I first started blinging I tried it by doing one circle and then going to the top and working my way down and then I tried just going from the top and just get to the circle when I get there. Doing a few rows of circles and then going to the top was the easiest for me. I know the circle can be a bit intimidating but just take your time when connecting the straight lines to the circles and don't be afraid to use those smaller 3mm sizes. The 3mm rhinestones are what help to make the connection between the lines around the logo and the straight lines look clean and uniformed with minimal gaps.
Hey!! You're welcome!! Thanks so much for watching!! As far as sanding goes, there could be a chance that the rhinestones will eventually peel off if the case isn't sanded first especially if it's that smooth shiny coated flexible case. If you use e6000 glue, you will get a pretty good hold but still run the risk of it peeling off. If you use glues like liquid fusion and fusion tack there's a huge chance it will come off without sanding. Hope this helps!! Thanks again for watching!! 🥰
@@jeweledbyjazdiy it helps a lot. Thank you for such a thorough response. I guess I need to grab some sandpaper for these projects. I use mainly E6000 but go through it quickly. I also use krysyal glaze glue
Love it! Getting ready to do my first Starbucks cup for my daughter. Wondering how long will they last on the plastic cup. Does the plastic firm up so the stones don’t pop off if someone squeezes the cup?
That's so exciting!! I remember blinging my first starbucks cup!! I still have it! It's all about how you prep the cup. If you use an adhesive like liquid fusion or fusion tack without properly sanding and cleaning your cup first then yes, it can crack and the stones will fall off. However if you don't want to sand the cup, you can use e6000 glue for a firmer hold (toxic smell though) but if you sand the cup and use e6000 it will last you some years!! (Sorry for such a long answer) lol
@@jeweledbyjazdiy I sanded the cup, cleaned with alcohol and spray painted it- now waiting on some other stones to arrive. My daughter has changed her mind like 20x already. 🤦♀️ Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it! Be blessed!
Thanks! I have them available in my shop, working on restocking everything soon!! I will post a short of the new and updated items once I have restocked them all. Thanks for watching!! 🥰🥰🥰
After gluing the rhinestones you should allow the cup to cure for at least 48 hours. After that, yes, you can hand wash with soap, water and a sponge. Dry immediately after washing.
I do recommend sanding for those as well. However if you use e6000 glue or epoxy to adhere the stones then you won't need to sand. If using any other glues, I do recommend sanding.
Thanks so much! No I don't mind you asking! They are 5mm resin rhinestones. I have them available in my Etsy Shop. The link is in the description if you are interested in giving them a try. 🥰
It really is a fun project! I am still working on making kits for these and plan on having them posted on my site no later than this weekend if you're interested!
I think your cup looks amazing I make them too out of tumblers but you're not doing the honeycomb method those stones are underneath each other they weren't in between
Hey Angela! Nope! You can do this on any case! Hard or soft. Silicone is the only type of material I have issues with. It would require a different kind of glue but I haven't experimented with it just yet.
I just found you !! Love your videos! I have a question. Where do you get the top needle you have on your E6000 tube? Do you have a site where I can buy some ? Thankyou in advance. Glad you tell people to wear protective equipment. I have COPD and learned the hard way!! Thankyou for info in advance!!
Thank you so so much for watching!! I truly appreciate your support!! And Yesss!! Protecting yourself at all times is so important!! I would hate for someone to get harmed when it could have been prevented. As for the e6000, I get these from Walmart! They have the best price for them and it comes with everything you need. The tips and a cap to close the glue when you're finished using it. They are in the crafting section and the beads sections of walmart. 😉
Awesome have fun and let me know if you have any questions!! I have these kits available on my website if you're interested.. the link is in my description. Happy blinging!! 💎🥰❤
I swear i think the pattern you're using is called scatter because they aren't all the same size. If you actually do the honeycomb and use two different sizes it will create gaps. You have the definition right you do place them in between each one but for a honeycomb the pen is very precise and there is little to no spaces and all one size stone
Hi Grayson. The scatter pattern uses various different sizes (usually 2mm up to sometimes 10mm) and are picked at random. I'm not sure if you notice, but the majority of this pen was done in 5mm with the honeycomb method, and I used 3mm rhinestones as fillers since sometimes the 5mm rhinestones do not fit evenly around the pen so fillers are needed. Maybe if I had worked going around the pen to reflect that, instead of working going downward then around, it would have represented this better.
It allows the glue to adhere better to the case. The phone cases have a very smooth texture and when using liquid fusion or fusion tack on this texture, it could end up peeling off. E6000 would work just fine without sanding but sanding is the safest. Using a piece of sand paper also works very well.
Hi Penny! I don't usually seal the paint afterwards. The glue I use seals the paint underneath the rhinestones but any extra paint that is left behind does get washed off.
This was just what I was looking for and you did a great job of explaining and showing the needed materials. Quick question, where do I find the decor such as the "Chanel, flower & hearts ??
Hi Angela!! Thanks so much for watching!! I am actually creating kits for these decorations. I will have them available by the end of this week if you are interested.
They come with the glue.. it is the e6000 with precision tips. I usually get mine from Walmart in the crafting section. Sometimes they are next to the beads and sometimes next to the wall mounting putty.
Sure! Materials used: Stainless steel cup Paint (optional) Paint brush Wax tool Rhinestone trays Rhinestones Sand paper E6000 glue, liquid fusion glue, fusion tack glue Precision tip bottle Glasses & mask (optional) I also sell these kits on my website which includes everything needed for this. The link is in the description. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Hi Sarah! They take me about 2 to 3 hours. On a good day close to 2 hours. The method where I apply a large square of liquid fusion takes the least amount of time.
