Thanks for the info! Another tutorial of mine - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JwVRWQX14_8.htmlsi=LOhzO6MELX4XZ391 - shows the creation of a 3D terrain starting from a 2D drawing with dashed lines. This tutorial just shows how you can get a solid group from a surface.
Before I answer you, I searched on Google 'midpoint by Rick Wilson' and the first result is the link to the post from the official SketchUp forum, and at post #14 there is the plugin midpoint.rbz. And for Curic Mirror, Google also gives you the gumroad page. Smustard has not been functional for a long time.
Hey, I came here via the SketchUp forums. I've been trying to figure out the Enmesh tool, which I have done, but what I can't work out how to do is change the colour from white! I've tried setting up a generic material in Vray but it gets ignored. I've tried unlocking and colouring the mesh tile itself but that also doesn't work (perhaps because it's a proxy?). Any ideas please? Thank you! And for this. Great simple tutorial
Try to apply a texture to the surface encapsulated in Enmesh or for eg: 'Pattern 000 merged' used, in Materials set a texture and use it then for Enmesh.
Depending on how you access them (inside SketchUp, internet browser), you either have the option to click the Install button, or the Download and then Install button from the Extension Manager.
Thanks! I created that model (just temporarily) to show how it is modeled in SketchUp and how to create a custom texture for it (UV unwrapping and UV mapping).
For small objects (millimeters) it is recommended to work in meters instead of millimeters. In this way, you avoid the problems of small faces, but also of circles and arcs with too many segments for their small size.
Thanks! Taking into account that there are people who say that they have been using SketchUp for 20 years and did not know about the existence of shortcuts and complain that the new icons affect their eyes, I think it will be useful for them to know that they can replace those icons with texts that are easier to discover and read.
Please specify where in the video (min, sec) you need additional information? I have included in the description of the clip the extensions used, so that those interested can look for tutorials on how to use them. And the fact that basic knowledge about SketchUp is required (native tools, working methods, etc...). Thanks!
The video is from three years ago, certain settings have changed in the meantime. Thanks for making me aware, I will remove this video! Now you can have the SKP, PNG and STL files by accessing the Download button in SketchUp for Web (Free).
You already contacted me by writing this message, but you didn't specify what kind of problem you have with "skp to Blender". If you don't know how to transfer the model from SketchUp to Blender, either export the model as a DAE or OBJ file, or use the SketchUp Importer addon in Blender (use Google for the link) and import the skp file directly.
@@aboutsketchupbyms sir my problem I am making objects for msts (Microsoft Soft Train Simulator) in skechup 3 months ago I am learning blender but till now I am not able to make a object in blender So i research that skp. To blender model transfer and i follow all your video and what I need I get it in blender bake properly everything but when I export to msts format in game it's shows black ⚫ texture coordinates are not same Then I try in blender same issue properly bake but when i connect texture coordinates to bake image texture it's shows black and now it's the problem for me
If it's about MSTS, then ask in their forum because you have more chances to be offered a solution from those who use this game: www.trainsim.com/forums/forum/microsoft-train-simulator/msts-general-discussion . From what you described, it's not a "skp to Blender" problem, but something related to that game and the format it imported.
Just because you get a message about "marked as being not compatible" at installation doesn't automatically mean it doesn't work. Test before, the extension works very well in SketchUp 2021 (21.1.279 - latest version at 09 Jun 2021).
Since I just installed the extension in the latest version of SketchUp that appeared yesterday and I tested and saw that it works, it means that it just doesn't work for you for various reasons. The recommendation is to open a discussion in the official SketchUp forum - forums.sketchup.com/, in which to explain in detail what you are trying to do and to provide as much data as possible, so that someone there can try to help you.
