Servus mitanand, auf meinem Kanal findet Ihr bunt gemischte Videos zu den Themen Eishockeytrikots, ÖPNV, Spaziergangvideos durch München, und was mir sonst noch so einfällt.
Hi there, on this channel you'll find all kinds of stuff. Content will include me talking about my hockey jersey collection, the public transportation in my hometown Munich, Scenic walking videos beyond typical tourist paths, maybe some helpful advice for visitors to Munich, and whatever I can come up with.
Of the 6 big breweries in Munich I usually go for #1 Augustiner #2 Hofbräuhaus tied #3-5 Hacker-Pschor, Paulaner, Spaten Never Löwenbräu But if buying a case for home it was: Lindenbräu Vollbier, Andechs (any beer), Tegernseer Hell, Augustiner
I agree, Löwenbräu is just not good. I'm sure I've mentioned this before but the first time my brother and I went to Oktoberfest we stopped at the Löwenbräu tent and couldn't even finish the beers they were so bad (this was 2009 I think).
Greetings from California! I just found your channel a few weeks ago from your first tour of the Oktoberfest grounds. My excitement is really building now that it’s so close. Will be visiting Germany for 10 days and the Oktoberfest on the Italian weekend :) see you there maybe
The Olympiapark has an interesting history. It's the largest green space in Munich. As Oberwiesenfeld it was Munich's first airport. Famous when Chamberlain and Daladier landed there to sign the Munich Abkommen for the Sudentenland in 1938. After the war a large part of the Oberwiesenfeld was used to deposit the mountains of debri and rubble from Munich. Some of the hills in the park are in fact rubble heaps. The highest point in Muncih - the Olympiaberg at 60m - is in fact a Trümmerberg. And it has one of the few disused S-bahn stations (that was in use during the Olympics). Of course the Olympics have a tragic connotation, with the first target of a terrorist attack. The Olympic games in München where the first to use a logo, and mascotte Waldi the Daschshund and special designed font. I visited the games a 1-year old baby with my parents (and still got the stuffed mascotte lol).
Thank you so much for this walk. But it's a pity you never once pronounced the brand name BMW in German, I'm always interested to hear the original pronunciation of local names. For example Siemens as [ziːmens] in a recent video from Neuperlach
Hey bro, can you tell me where can i find the alternate with allianz on the side? (Does bayern munich have a us store?) Also where can i get the oktoberfest jersey that jusy got revealed?
Hey, The alternate with Allianz on the crest, a.k.a. the womens' jersey, is available in the munich downtown fanstores or online via the FC Bayern site. The Oktoberfest jersey was Just leaked and is Not available yet. In the US, everything should be available via Adidas or World soccer Shop, or the official FC Bayern online Shop 😊😊
Here are my favorite Atlantic Division jerseys made during the Adidas era... Boston Bruins - As much as I will never support any Boston teams and own any of their jerseys, I almost agreed with your choice except for one thing. The numbers within the crest logo are what ruins it for me. The rest of the entire design of that Centennial alternate jersey is spectacular. So my choice by a slim margin is the Centennial home jersey followed by the current (again) home jersey. Buffalo Sabres - I'm going with their current home jersey, followed by the current road jersey. Lately, fans and online podcasters have been pushing for the idea to go back to the goathead ones full time, but I'm dead set against it. It would be a huge and grave mistake to switch AGAIN after it took so many years to go back to the widely popular original logo and perfect the home and road jersey designs, too. Detroit Red Wings - Agreed. Completely boring jersey history, but at least theirs is not ugly. I'm just going with their current home jersey. Florida Panthers - YES! By far, their Reverse Retro 1.0 jersey is the best in the Adidas era. That would be followed by the Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey. Their current primary logo is a big downgrade over the original logo. That is the dealbreaker for why I will never buy their current home and road jerseys. Montreal Canadiens - I chose their current home jersey. I do like their road, Reverse Retro 1.0 and 2.0 jerseys as well, but the home one is the best. Ottawa Senators - I'm not the biggest fan of Ottawa's jersey lineup in the Adidas era, but my favorite is their 2016 Centennial Classic jersey. That is despite not fully liking the nameplate font. I prefer the one they used for their home and road jerseys. Their Reverse Retro 1.0 jersey is second for me. Tampa Bay Lightning - Definitely the same for me! The Reverse Retro 1.0 jersey is their best under Adidas. I did like their 2018-2022 alternate, but it was boring. However, not as much as the current home and road jerseys (which I only like are their name and number fonts). Toronto Maple Leafs - I do like their 2019-2023 Heritage (St. Patrick's) jersey as well! Better than the new one. I wrestled with my choice and very strongly considered the 2018 Stadium Series jersey (has the white primary logo on a white jersey), but I am going with their current home jersey. Thank you for sharing your favorites as well!
I wish I had gotten that Devils jersey. And I think too many people sleep on the Islanders 1st RR.1. Yes it fails as a retro but just as a jersey it gorgeous. 🤷🏻♂️
Alright, I was looking forward to this video. I will share with you my favorite Metropolitan Division jerseys made during the Adidas era... Carolina Hurricanes - Your choice is definitely a good one, but by far mine is their 25th anniversary jersey. Columbus Blue Jackets - TOTALLY agree with you on your choice. It is the only jersey I EVER like of theirs. New Jersey Devils. - Their current white "heritage" jersey. If I didn't despise the team, I would own one. Islanders. - I'm generally not a fan of any of their jerseys as they are also a hated rival, but I would pick their Reverse Retro 1.0 jersey if it had the name and numbers from their 1998-2007 home and road jerseys. I also loathed their original "fisherman" jerseys back in the day. Rangers - I'm sure you are curious to know what I went with for my primary team. For just the Adidas era, my favorite is their Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey. This would be followed by their current alternate jersey (LOVE the primary logo on the front!), THEN the home and road jerseys. I hate the 2018 Winter Classic and 2024 Stadium Series jerseys simply for the ugly wordmarks. Philadelphia Flyers. - Great choice! That is exactly my pick. Only one I own from the team that represents where I live. I wish they would have returned to their 1982-2007 jerseys again, not this fake version they just went to last season. Still an improvement over their previous home and road jerseys. Pittsburgh Penguins - Yours is also my choice! My budget was so limited that I could not get that one. My second is easily their 2018-2021 alternate jersey. Cannot stand their wordmark jerseys, too! The only wordmark jersey they ever wore was before our time... their 1967 "powder blue" jerseys with the same current wordmark font as the Rangers. Washington Capitals - I cannot stand any of their current jerseys and the alternate one they just retired. Tough for me to decide which Reverse Retro jersey is the best one for me, but I also chose the first one! The second one they plan to bring back as an alternate is a close second for me. Side notes... I'm unsure what division a future Atlanta team would go in, but I hope the NHL does another realignment. They need to group Atlanta with Nashville, Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina and maybe even Washington. And I don't remember if Neil Taylor of Post2Post Productions bought a jersey that is larger than he normally gets and maybe that is why he sold you his?
Have you visited the Sydney Harbour bridge ? The bridge climb is well worth doing - so may fascinating things about the history and construction during the guided walk..
I resubmitted my comment so I could give you my favorite Adidas jersey from every team as well. Arizona Coyotes. - Their Reverse Retro 1.0 jersey is my favorite (their black Kachina home jersey is a close second, followed by their Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey). I do like all the others except their final alternate because of the Arizona wordmark. Chicago Blackhawks. - their current home jersey Colorado Avalanche. - Normally it is against my own rule not to pick a previous identity, but I'm also going with their Reverse Retro 1.0 jersey. Dallas Stars. - their current alternate jersey (which I do not own... yet). Minnesota Wild - Not been overly happy with their uniforms since 2017, but I'm picking their home jersey as well. I wish the entire collar was forest green and the primary logo was bigger on the front. Too small. Both Reverse Retros are definitely nice, but they are not the North Stars. Nashville Predators. - By far, their Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey. I'm a much bigger fan of the 3D logo as opposed to the side-angle original. Saint Louis Blues - Their current home jersey is my favorite because I love the design and vivid colors on it. The 2022 Winter Classic jersey is second for me. Coming in third is their Reverse Retro 1.0 (I LOVE the red!), followed by the current vintage blue 1990s jersey and current alternate jersey. I like the design of the Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey, if they removed the wordmark and increased the size of that throwback "Blue Note" logo, it would be better. Winnipeg Jets - I like their 2016 Heritage Classic jersey, but it was never worn during the Adidas era. So, I'm going with their Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey.
Here are my favorite Pacific Division jerseys made during the Adidas era... Anaheim Ducks - their 2019-2023 orange alternate jersey Calgary Flames - their current home jersey (I do like the road one as well) Edmonton Oilers - their 2019-2022 orange home jersey (I do like their current home and road jerseys as well) Los Angeles Kings - 2021-2014 alternate jersey (the two Reverse Retro jerseys are okay, but for a purple jersey, I prefer the original crown logo) San Jose Sharks - Their entire current uniform set is fantastic, but my choice is the current Cali Fin alternate jersey. Seattle Kraken - 2024 Winter Classic jersey Vancouver Canucks. - their current home jersey Vegas Golden Knights. - their current Vegas Gold home jersey (the Reverse Retro 1.0 is a very close second for me)
Hi Sir, I’d love to help enhance your channel’s SEO for better visibility. Let me know if you’re open to a brief discussion on how I can assist! Thanks, Shawon
Brother can I meet the players if I reach the training ground first? I will visit Germany this coming January and I would really appreciate some tips before I go to Sabener Strasse on how to take a selfie with the players. Thank you.
Well, good luck for your plans! I've never done something like that myself, so I can't really help you, but this could work prior or after a training Session 🤞. Let me know the results please😊
Hard to believe the whole city and large parts of the Residenz - including the giant staircase and gardens - were completely destroyed just weeks before WWII ended. In what only can be described as a willful vengeance bombing to destroy the last medium sized cities of Germany before it surrendered only a few weeks later. Or in some cases even a few days before the Allies took the smoldering ruins. Sad part of history.
I’m really going to miss Adidas. For my money I loved their era of jerseys, they did a great job. I felt those primgreen jerseys were amazing, okay the size or the fit in the chest could be inconsistent, but aside from that I don’t see any of Adidas jerseys falling apart anytime soon. Reeboks on the other hand….some of those didn’t last the season.
Maybe it is construction for the 2. Stammstrecke? There is a safety shaft supposed to be built in that area for the new line but I can't imaging it would require that much land to be cleared. That whole area has been ripe for redevelopment for years. I remember Media Markt had a temporary location in a tent on that lot before they completed that shopping center on Einsteinstraße and Leuchtenbergring. I hope the construction is not too loud when we are there in October.
No need to apologize! I do watch your other videos, but I'm not knowledgeable enough of their topics to comment on them. I'm really excited to see your future video or videos on the opening of SAP Gardens and the NHL Global Series games. I hope all is well with you. As for any games I could attend, hopefully a Rangers game or two. Same for the Flyers just because I live in Philadelphia. Not sure if any others. Depends on if my budget can expand with a new second job. I will be paying attention to the upcoming preseason and regular season games in Europe. I cannot wait.
Curiously enough, i's one of Munich's largest Nazi architecture projects. But in most history books this is not mentioning explicitly. Building started in 1936, and was supposed to be a Tempelhof on smaller scale. Designed by the same architect Ernst Sagebiel as Tempelhof. Munich still has a lot of architecture by the nazis. However the Oberwiesen airport remained in operation as work on Riem was only finished in 1939 at the outbreak of WWII. So by then it was not fully operated as civilian airport, but as military one during WWII. In World War II it was home to Adolf Galland's legendary Jagdverband 44. It was almost completely destroyed by bombings on 9 April 1945. More relics of the airport: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7NiKF74oKRs.htmlsi=HGAjvWVQdbPMV9I6 (in German) or: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ukWFFW1RNLU.htmlsi=CJ5lm_yZvfVrrOsA. Relocation was laready decided in the 1960s after two disasters took place. In 1958 an airplane skidded off the runway in freezing and snowy conditions killed 8 members of the Manchester United football team (well-known in the UK). And 1960 when an airplane crashed on Schwanthalerstrasse on a tram after clipping the spire of the Theresienwiese church.
The station has also a role in the future U9 U-bahn Spange from Giselastrasse over Pinakotheken and Hauptbahnhof to Theresienwiese and to reconnect in Implerstrasse where it will go to Klinikum Grosshadern with U6. So as planning for U9 goes it seems logical to connect it to the station where U3 and U6 split. As for the München Südbahnhof: DB wants to built the station between 2026 - 2029 but despite pleas from München city council it will NOT be an S-bahn station, but a station stop for Regional trains only, but not compatible with S-Bahn trains (weirdly). As the reactivation of the Südumfahrung was originally proposed as alternative for the 2. Stammstrecke, and rejected by the DB, I guess the DB doesn't want to be reminded this stretch of railway can be used by S-trains. So the will use it only for regional train services. A direct access is scheduled to be with Poccistrasse. But options for rebuilding are to remain possible. So typical DB-planning and politics. Absurd.
Indeed, DB at its best🫣. I once read that the U9 will call at Esperantoplatz, so the lines should meet between Goetheplatz and poccistraße, but the later is for Sure too small to become a major interchange station. Will be an interesting Situation to follow for some years to come
We really loved visiting there this past May and can't wait to return. Between the two "parts," Garmisch and Partenkirchen, there is a nice variety of old and not so old to enjoy with that beautiful backdrop of the Alps. We especially enjoyed leisurely walks next to those rivers and meadows. A magical place for sure, thanks for the vid!
