Is the PCV valve supposed to make a noise when you shake it? I got an OEM honda pcv valve from Amazon but I didn't hear a clicking noise when shaken. I'm worried it might be defective and cause more issues then fix if I install it.
A new PCV valve that is not clogged with oil should make a clicking sound when shaken - or at least it did with all the ones I have installed. If you bought the OEM from Honda dealer selling on Amazon then it should be a good part. Be sure to lookup that particular Honda dealer online to ensure this is actually a real Honda dealership and not one that exists only in name. If you are not satisfied with the part then return it vs taking risk with your vehicle, and purchase part from local honda dealer. They often have coupons on their website that offer discount on parts.
If the model number of the garage door motor is exactly the one I show, it is possible the person who replaced capacitor last time likely used an aftermarket capacitor or one they could find locally. You can also lookup the garage door motor specs online to see the correct part number of the capacitor needed.

as far as I saw in some videos, the LM Valve Cleaner (which goes inside the fuel tank) is better if it's used in several tank refills (5 or 6), is this Fuel System Cleaner to be used as well to have better results or is just a single use is enough?
Im currently trying this on my Skoda octavia rs 2.0 tfsi... it shakes at idle but it drives great, and the mechanic gave me 2x of these liqui molys 1 for 1 tank and said to use the both. i hope it helps or else i will need new injectors. I will update you on the results.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried the green Econ button before and if so, did it impact your fuel economy? On my 2013 Accord LX, I find that it makes my car feel a little slower, but doesn’t really improve my mpg much, if at all.
I used it many years ago and it totally took the joy out of driving - so I do not use the econ button. The things I mention in this video work well for me and keeps fun in driving.

Hi, you can not add fluid with level bolt removed. You add fluid and then remove overflow bolt to check fluid. Then replace if more fluid is needed. If it is removed, any additional fluid added will just come out the overflow hole. Thank you.
Has nothing to do with a faulty pvc valve !f you change your oil every 3k miles valve never gets gummed up! Will be valve cover gasket. If not that outer seals. If not that , valve guide seals and or worn cylinders and piston oil and compression rings. Honda 4 cylinder engine life is only 100k miles and that's if your lucky. Those motors never warm up! Honda engines are now crap! D

Even the tools needed to complete the job was covered. Two days ago I replaced my old spark plugs with six new spark plugs for my 2009 Honda Odyssey EX model which had 116,014 miles on it. I purchased NGK Laser Iridium Premium IZFR5K11 3657 from my local O'Reilly's Auto Parts. After installing the new spark plugs I noticed an increase in the power of my engine. Next up, I'll need to save up money to buy the OEM Hitachi ignition coils. You and your video gave me the courage and confidence to SUCCESSFULLY complete a job I was very hesitant to do. I watched your video and did my 2013 accord today. I'm sure if I took it to the dealership, they would have charged me big time to do it. I saved a lot by watching your DIY demonstration. Thank you for posting this video. My only criticism is that you can't rely on a jack when your car is up. You have to use jack stands! Thanks, and stay safe!
So glad this video helped to change out the transmission fluid. It is super easy. Jacks/stands/ramps are not needed to change fluid. A person can just lay in front of the car and reach in to the drain bolt to do the fluid change - which is what I did. I put my phone under the vehicle that made the views think I that I was under the vehicle. I was not - you can see my hand reaching from front of vehicle to open drain bolt.

Now locate a similar button on the left section of the steering wheel. When the Car is start, press this button a few times to toggle the options on the display screen of car until you get to the screen that shows for Trip-A.
i am getting envious of all the trips you have taken on your Odyssey to get to 260K miles! lol Any suggestions about maintenance to make the vehicle last this long?
@@FlyBeee I am the 1st and only owner on my odyssey. All the service I have done is from the Honda dealership- yes it’s expensive but they know what they are doing and they do it correctly because it’s their own vehicles with their own parts.Their was few times I took it to a different shop not thru Honda dealership to save money but they just made it worst which cost me more money fixing it at the Honda dealership. I kept all my maintenance up to date- never missed any maintenance- I dont drive crazy or make any crazy turns or hit the gas then brake hard - you’re just destroying your vehicle and ruining it- take care of it and drive carefully and it will last you for a long time. Been all over in America with this van and Mexico. I had a 99 ford windstar before buying the odyssey got it to 240,000 before the engine started having problems- I will Never buy ford again ( maybe ford trucks we will see) and same with Honda- I like more Lexus and Toyota.
Got my starter battery and alternator tested and they claim it’s the alternator. I don’t have a battery light and still have all the lights on the dash coming on when I try to start my car. Replaced the battery and it worked for a good week or so now when I try to start the car the starter either engages then cuts out halfway through or dosent engage and I have to turn to the On/Off position to get it to crank once or twice. Thoughts ?
Oh wow, I just bought one identical to yours. The only thing that my front end is a bit lower than your. I’m wondering if I change the front struts including coils it will pick it up an inch or so. Then it will look perfect. If anyone can agree or correct me if I’m wrong, I would appreciate it.
Congratulations on your purchase! I have owned MANY honda and Acura vehicles and this Odyssey is the best - the perfect combination of reliability, features and a family vehicle with just regular maintenance. I sill drive this 2010 Odyssey that you see in video. If you just purchased one then my 2 cents would be to check that vehicle was mechanically maintained on schedule - and if no history then do this yourself and take care of it first. The front shocks may have been replaced with aftermarket and therefore vehicle is lower. You can get that changed later.
They should have continued production of the older 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. My 2012 Accord coupe has 266,000 miles on the odometer. I have changed the oil every 6,000 miles with Mobil 1 OW-20 synthetic since it was new and it still doesn’t consume oil between changes. I was thinking about buying a 2015-2017 Accord as a replacement but I think I will pass.
Yes, the issue is with the new Earth Dreams engine Honda used in this gen of Accord and also CRVs - all have oil consumption issue for 4 cyl engine and Honda has not addressed the issue.
Worked for me... I ended up using a skinny blue funnel, and then taping something like a 30 ml plastic drip bottle on the end so it could fit into the dip stick tube
Great video! Just a question if you don’t mind. When you’re running the engine with the radiator cap open to purge out the air, does the coolant not spill out?
If the coolant is filled much then it will overflow when waiting for the air to purge. If this happens remove the excess or put a rag around to catch the overflow. the tick in filling in new coolant is to not fill all the way up until the very end.

I have a 2015 Honda accord its been doing this for 2 years😂. I got used to it already i turn the key about 15 times and it turns ON. The funny thing is im a tech, and i used to work for a company that rebuilt starters and alternators lol. 1. Yes starter is good the solenoid is not kicking in. 2. The previous owner used and abused that ignition switch and the key is really worn out. Might have to get a new key made. I am going to pull the starter and check the armature and bushings they wear out with time. Less then $10 can give you another lifetime starter if you know how to do it. Im sure its the solenoid though. It just happens with time all those bumps and holes whe go through the road and with the years the parts get loosy from inside.
As a tech you certainly have above average knowledge and skill level to know exactly what needs to be done to fix the issue, and for just few $. Have you had a chance to get it done?
@FlyBeee yes I did. My apologies for not updating you guys. Everything was good bushings, armature. The thing that was wrong with mine was the brass fittings on the solenoid. One of them was worn out it was not making contact. Order the part from Amazon $14. Car turns ON have no issues. For those of you trying to rebuild one. There's alot of good videos on RU-vid easy to fallow.
You have the same exact model as me, I just bought a new 8giv stick but given what the bios says the dim slots can only handle 2gigs per slot. Basically I just wasted money on new ram
Good question. I recently tried exactly this and will say it this way - you can be logged into the app on only one phone at at time. You can have the app installed on another phone, but when log into the app on the 2nd phone, it logs you out on the first phone! lol. you can use app on two different phones - but not at the same time

I just got a honda accord sport from the lot with 140k miles.. no history of the transmission being done… im contemplating doing it myself but like the myths say there is a chance i will damage my trans. I did check the fluid it looks pretty clean for 140k if it hasnt been changed at all im just scared to damage the transmission if i do decide to change it
Congratulations on your purchase! It is a nice car and it runs fantastic with just a bit of care - About the fluid history, when you say 'no history of' does it only mean you have no record of it? I say that because carfax report these days also has maintenance history or at least name of the shop where vehicle was serviced and you can call that place and get a copy of the work that was completed on the vehicle. If you have absolutely no history then it all goes to your decision on whether you want to take a chance and slowly start replacing the fluid and space out the changes or not touch the vehicle at all. On my Accord when I don't change the fluid for 20K miles it becomes noticeably dirty and has burnt smell to it. If your vehicle has clean fluid then may be it was changed and someone may have done it through DIY that never shows up on carfax. Similar to all the work i do on my vehicle would not show in carfax or a 'shop receipt'.
Hey can you help my 2017 Honda accord sport was running fine no issues. No check engine light no leaks no hard idling . But all of a sudden my car will not move in drive or reverse
start and let it warm up for a couple mins then change gear to Drive or Reverse. The CVT transmission works strange ways and is usually not responsive when the vehicle starts at cold.
