The Feast of the Epiphany - January 6, 1895. John Bacchus Dykes (10 March 1823 - 22 January 1876) was an English clergyman and hymnwriter. He was consecrated Bishop of Calcutta in October 1823. He travelled widely and worked to improve the spiritual and general living conditions of his flock. Arduous duties, a hostile climate and poor health led to his collapse and death after less than three years in India. Memorials were erected there and in St Paul's Cathedral, London. A collection of his hymns appeared soon after his death. "Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty" remains popular for Trinity Sunday, while "Brightest and Best" is frequently sung during Epiphany.

There are no long range strategic thinkers anymore, Mattis included. They think so short term about NATO, Urkaine and all else. They call it grand strategy but it simply isnt. It doesnt anticipate thr future course of domestic policies. It doesnt consider the long term outcome of forcing a global authoritarian coalition between Russia-China-Iran-North Korea. What after Ukraine? It only offers the inevitability of WW3 while it loses the worth of what it claims to defend.
1. Russia's invasion of Ukraine would not have happened under Trump. 2. Israel's October 7th would not have happened under Trump. 3. Related to both, we were energy producing and independent under Trump and Russian and Iran, both sponsors of terror, lost much of their financial capacity to do harm under Trump. 4. The assassination of Qasem Solameini was a clear headed signal of dispraportionate response that set aggression back. It was the right move. 5. ISIS was made a non-factor under Trump. 6. We achievd better trade deals under Trump. 7. Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal was an absolute disaster that Trump was successfully avoiding. Bidens decision is a stain on our history. 8. NATO allies were pressured to increase their defense budgets, something they refused to do before Trump. The idea that we should be the only ones to keep our end of the NATO alliance is insane. And frankly, the way the nations in the alliance are headed with increasingly restrictive speech laws, civilian disarmament, unchecked immigration, the COVID lockdowns, forced vaccinations, and increasing centralized control over their civilians and a massive surveillance state it makes no sense why we would defend NATO in the name of protecting freedom.
The media astonishes me in its handling of Trump. The dishonesty, bias, and outright hatred of anything he represents is astonishing. We wont hear a peep about Bidens recorded phone call that verifies the billion dollar bribe to cover his ass in Ukraine. Not a peep. We wont hear about Trump being the best foreign policy president since Reagan. The only area I disagree with Trump is Syria. Orange man bad. Orange man bad. Orange man bad. Thats all we hear. Yet you wont understand when he wins again in 2024.
