The good news in all of this is that Disney did such an amazingly shitty job with all the woke garbage and not staying true to the essence of Star Wars that it actually seems disconnected and preserves the memory of what Star Wars is. Unfortunately, it is also sad to know future prospects for Star Wars is dead. I'm so glad I didn't watch Acolyte, from snippets I can already see what a giant waste of time that would be. I hope Disney looses lots of money.
Absolutely could not agree more... Think Andor Season 2, The Mando film... ANY future project is now going to be officially a waste and will ultimately fail. As you say, there's a permanent stain now on Star Wars and I'm a firm believer that it should be split in to what was, and what it now is. Today it's nothing more than a title. But it's essence, it's core is what Star Wars was... Yes, past tense. Meh, I actually see it as a huge victory! I've never had so much attention on this channel and in today's day an age, hate and negativity are the norm. So I appreciate feedback and criticism. Did you even watch this? Or know anything about Miller’s storytelling style??? I think you need to drop the “nerd” bit if you can’t follow Miller’s style, or see the story in the movie, or see Fury Road as a reboot… or even identify a character other than Max. I don't think we watched the same movie. It's sims,minecraft,what? I didn't feel like this movie was all over the place it very clearly follows furiosa from childhood to adulthood. It is a great film. THIS MOVIE IS A PREQUAL TO FURY ROAD. THE PURPOSE OF THIS FILM IS TO FILL IN THE BACKSTORY OF FURIOSA HOW DO YOU NOT GET THIS?
I'm pretty confident the review speaks to exactly what you're saying. However, the purpose of this film is still unknown. Prequel, obviously. Furiosa, sure, if you include the other dozen or so characters they're trying to develop in this film. Either way, it falls short on every level. But that's just my 2 cents.

I am pretty sure that if we make you watch the movie on stream and stop with every action scene, you wont be able to tell which part of which scene is CGI and which one is not. I guarantee you that "trash cgi" is just in your head
Perhaps, but anyone watching the initial canyon scene where Furiosa is being rescued on the bike; there's no shadow coming from anywhere, no bumps (yet they're on a motorcycle, and let's hypothetical say they're doing 50-60mph... There's as much wind blowing it's as if I have a straw and blowing it in their face. It's 2024, they can and should be doing better in my viewpoint.
While I like this movie a lot the CGI in this movie is noticeably worse than in Fury Road. There were multiple scenes where it just looks obviously fake and the scene where Dementus is using his big truck to ram down that gate looks laughably bad. It looks like Dementus is on a TV screen on the front of the vehicle, not inside the vehicle.
Idk how people arent loving this movie. I hate the woke movement but this one has very little of that. Its a worthy mad max film, and id go as far to say this and fury road are probably the most iconic double feature i can imagine
I absolutely agree. I was shocked on how little, if any wokeness was in the film. It's just sad how much the industry has damaged itself in that regard. After Deadpool and Wolverine, there's very little reason to go to the movies. 🤷

Furiosa is a cinematic masterpiece that has left me speechless! The time and patience one has to dedicate their life, in making a lifetime work, coupled with an unquenchable thirst to provide sheer awe and cinematic brilliance technically and emotionally, stands out at every single minute throughout the movie. Apocalyptic genres are quite easy to enact, since they require an astute understanding of how humans operate on baseline consciousness. George Miller did a fantastic job at delivering this exact sentiment. I am overall pleased with the aesthetic cinematic treatment compared to its predecessor for continuity and not overdoing with CG. Dramatic pacing and character introduction is given justice with sufficient screen time to develop their story arcs and finale plot. The wasteland is merciless and spares nobody. Flawless execution 10/10.

The fact you can't name Immortan Joe (skull guy?!) or the War Boys (the white boys that spray their mouths?!) makes me doubt Fury Road was one of your favourite movies...

Not what the Mad Max genre is.. have you seen the first one? Miller hasnt made the same film twice and thats especially true for Mad Max. Fury Road is also not a reboot. Not sure how you think there's no story. Like Mad Max is what made Max mad...this is what made Furiousa her.
I hear ya, just my take on it. If this was a standalone film, that's one thing. But adding Mad Max without having Mad Max in it kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion.
It is an Ok movie that's it, which is hard to digest after all the hype I had after watching fury road. The story feels unnecessary, plus on top it it's a precuel...so we all kind of knew how it would end. I feel like the universe of Mad Max has an infinity of possibilities and choosing to make an unnecessary story which we all knew the end was a bad choice, all without counting how bad is the story telling. It's bad cause is doing bad at the theatres and we might not see another mad max again as these movies are hella expensive to make

The sad truth, if you read several articles from Hollywood media, as of now all sequels have been canceled because of how bad Furiosa has done at the Box Office. It's going to lose MILLIONS. Like you say, they have such an expansive universe and this is what you do? Bring Gibson and Hardy together and make a badass sequel! 🙌
*Finally a Review that matches my experience!* I was seriously looking forward to it, and watched on AMC's IMAX screen at Lincoln Square in Manhattan (largest IMAX). One hour in, I was looking for a way to get the hell out of it! I had a seat dead-center and it was a sold out showing. I didn't want to be the guy that disturbs the audience, so I suffered through the remaining 1.5 hours. Not once did I feel being captured, it was just loud, beautiful to look at, but LOUD, plotholes, explosions, vehicle chases... just overwhelming nothingness! I know I was pretty much alone with that feeling, but I lost three hours of my life that I could have spend differently.

Of course the majority of comments I'm receiving from this review are typical internet trolls not grasping the idea of singular thought, so I genuinely appreciate your comment. It too almost felt like watching a dry series on a streaming service where there was clearly filler episodes to try and get you interested in whatever story they were trying to tell... Were you a fan of Fury Road?

I really wanted to love that movie, but the lack of story-line and that cobbled together of characters and tribes, and the confusion of "who are these guys? Weren't they on the other side?" was just wasting my time! Fury Road made sense all the way! Going to sub to your channel, as I am trusting your judgment 100%!

@majordeegan1849 It took 50 min. to go from child to adult Furiosa. It's a prequel. IE: We know from Fury Road that she was enslaved. The Hemsworth takes over for another hr, before ultimately ending the movie in one of the most yawn induced standoffs in cinema history.
My favorite thing about Furiosa is how it makes Fury Road even better. I rewatched Fury Road last night and actually got pretty emotional when Furiosa finds out the green place doesn't exist anymore. Before I didn't feel anything during that scene.
2 and a half hours , an they only spent like 5 mins in the green place , didint actually get to see any of it really ! Didin even show her actually losing the arm either . Should have made it a direct sequel to fury road , once furiosa got back to the citadel, dementus could have shown up then .

Instead we got an hour with her being a child (which we ultimately know the outcome), a baddie (Hemsworth) that'll mean nothing going forward, and yes, minus the 'prequel' aspect, this was just expanding on Fury Road. You didnt like it but it was easy to follow and Furiosa was in every scene. Also you're a film reviewer but you don't know this actresses name/ couldn't look it up while reviewing it amidst editing it together?
If you watch my channel, it's what I'm known for. I have multiple medical condition that don't allow for me to be able to retain certain things, so it's simply a gaff I have. Plus, I don't need to know names, just characters. That's why we call them films 👍
Please try again with this garbage review. It has more story and lore than Fury Road, while also having incredible action. I would say they're both on the same level, but for different reasons. The soundtrack by Tom Holkenborg kicks ass in both films as well.
The beautiful thing about reviews is different perspectives. To you it's trash, but others not. It's likely trash to you because it doesn't align with your thinking. And that's OK. @@SpotofNerdTo be honest, I’m not sure we needed an origin movie for a character that was in one movie. One of things that made Furiousa interesting was the mystique behind her. It had some good parts but it was nowhere as high-octane as Fury Road. It didn’t keep me engaged for it’s 2.5 hour runtime. Furiousa is the least interesting character in her own movie. This almost felt like a fan-fiction level of writing.
@@SpotofNerdSales don’t always equate to quality. There are plenty of movies that were subpar that made money. Like Avatar. But feel like Furiousa is in the same camp. Just like Avatar, I feel like people think Furiousa is good because of recency bias. Just like Avatar, give it a year or two and people will forget this movie. But yeah…I wouldn’t recommend going to see it in the theater unless you’ve seen Fury Road.

Hollywoke is producing nothing original these days because it has become a talent void without original thought. All they do is remake and sequalize beloved classics into woke dumpster fires. Wes Ball said it is still thousands of years too early for the astronauts and to get to where we were in 1968. He's confirmed Kingdom won't have astronauts.
It looks good, but side by side comparison has a stark contrast of what was done in Rise, Dawn, and War in comparison to Kingdom. Watch the full grass scene online where the silver back latches to the horse, and then watch the final battle and/or beginning battle in War and it's vastly higher quality in the previous films.

Like 'too many characters', 'plot point this, plot point that'. Ghostbusters 2 had a giant wall of slime with the Statue of Liberty walking downtown NY... Please stop pretending these movies need more explanation in to HOW... I truly loved this film! Hope they'll make another!

Shame it's not doing well at the box office given it's an original Sci Fi film. I don't think JDW is a BO draw, least not like his dad, and after seeing him in Tenet I can kinda see why. He's very wooden, at least in that.
