Hi, how does it hold up n perform so far with 4s ? Bcause I've read / seem some reviews that said that 4s will burn the esc / motor Some said that if running on 4s, you can't crank full throttle for more that 5 secs +- , n can only be pushed moderately What do you think?
@muhdarfanzaki1434 72 flights no issue. BUT!! I'm always good on the throttle like my turbines. If I go FT I do smooth even up throttle. I don't bank my throttle stick up and down like some people I've seen thinking the edf is a 3d heli lol this is where Amp spikes happens More V means less Amps. Granted it's more Amps but no issues here. If it make u feel better u can always put a skywalker 50amp from Amazon for 14 bucks
@@NoonzAirborneRC dang 72 flights.. that's a really reliable model Overall, do you think its a great flyer ? I'm tempted myself to probably fly in on 4s eventually. Thanks a lot for the info !
@muhdarfanzaki1434 it Flys fine. It's a mig I love MIGS and how they fly. 3 s Flys fine. A Lil anemic if ya loop and hard bank. On 3s I was WOT the whole time to get somewhat a thrill 4s is where it's at. If ya get the model you will see what I mean specially if there's a 10mph wind around
What are you talking about, my friend? That was a beautiful Cub landing. I didn't see anything wrong with your landing. The plane never tipped over or scraped the runway with its wing tips. You did a great job! 👏🏽 Thumbs-up for your video 👍🏾 Beautiful Cub...😊 Have a great rest of your day 😁 Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 😁 🌵 👍🏾 🇵🇷 Like# 3
@ricardopr54 Thank you my friend for the always APPRECIATED comment. Yes while not the worst, landing was not my best. Plane is great! I just felt I had to clarify the landing incase someone wanted or was looking into this plane. I did not want them to ding the plane for the landing. We do the best with what we got 🤣 Have an AMAZING DAY!! 👊🇺🇲👍
Good info, I went ahead and grabbed one from Banana Hobby after watching this. The next day I was down at Bolin field and was talking about the multimodule and wound up talking about the video.. I described the video thinking that they would know who you were if I described you. MUCH to my surprise, you are a local? LOL! small world! Yeah, Larry showed me his multimodule on his X20 pro. I have an X20RS. Anyhow thanks again for the great video, Keep em coming.
Yes indeed small world! Hahaha yes Lawrence is a great guy and IMHO the most knowledgeable about these radios. He is the reason I switched. It helped having someone in person and get hands on the Radio. I inturn have become a HUGE Ambassodor of Frsky and want to share it with everyone these great affordable radios and recievers!. I look forward to meeting you in person at the field of e day! 👍🇺🇲👊
Tried this on my twin x lite and there is no "scripts" folder on my radio. do I just create a new folder myself? also I'm using Mac and can't figure out how to save the script as a .lua file
@johnathanolsen6959 there should be always a script folder. Make sure you are looking in the right drive. Also I dodnt use apple. It could be a possibility since u can't save Lua files apple doesn't recognize them hence the folder not showing? If u have access to a pc a freind or work. I'd try that first 👊🇺🇲
@@slimjam44 interesting I've heard this quite a bit lately. On a buddy's radio verified wasn't on there. Added a script folder and did the rest as on the video. Worked just fine.
Many thanks, I will get the 20S in Black. I am replacing my old Taranis which still works but I am tired of the roller selector and seek something more modern, point and click to do mixing and other setup. This will be my winter project for the next flight reason. Happy Flying everyone and Fly Often!
You were right on about the CG. I started out with a 3S 2200 Graphene and it weighed 202 g. Slid it all the way forward and it was still a touch tail heavy. I needed to add a 7g weight to the nose to get the right CG. I also tried some 4S 1300 and still needed 21g of ballast weight. 4S 2200 is the only battery I could find that did not need added weight. I guess if the weight has to be there, it might as well be in battery!
@@NoonzAirborneRC I've been flying the heck out of it! Coming up on 75 flights so far. A few tips I would pass along to buyers is to definitely change out the elevator servo as it will go at any time. Does not seem adequate to operate 2 elevator surfaces. Mine went on the 5th flight and caused a very minor crash (I was almost on the ground anyway). Replaced it with a metal servo and all is well. Also, CG, CG, and more CG. I believe I set my CG at 75mm from the leading edge at the root. Don't think because it's 50mm that it can't handle the nose weight of a 4S-2200 mah battery. That's the only battery I could find where I did not have to add a ballast to the nose. It's a little bit bigger airframe than many 50s I've had. In fact, on some of my lighter 2200s I still need to add 7-14g to the nose. It's also very fast on 4S. Some folks say it should be flown on 3S, but I think you and I know better :). I also had a lip from an older EDF that I put on it. The 50mm EDF unit is good, but it does not have the lip, or bell, on the front and that makes it perform and sound much better. Other than that it's a cool jet. Everyone stops to check it out and I've yet to see anyone at my field flying a MiG-17 of any kind!
Mine just arrived an hour ago. I cannot figure out what that plastic piece is for. I know it's supposed to be a skid plate, but it doesn't fit anywhere on the fuselage. Any advice?
4900 kv is right on the borderline for 4S, but I've been flying 4S in the Arrows 50mm line, and I believe their motor is 4500kv. I think as long as you aren't cranking full throttle for more than 5-10 seconds, it should be fine.
@thebunkreport I've been flying this on 4s for a while over 50 flights. There are no issues thus far, and as you said, I do not crank on the throttle. (That's where amp surge happens) 🇺🇲👍
@@NoonzAirborneRC I hear you on that. A fellow RU-vidr disagreed with me on that. He thought it should be flown on 3S and going full-throttle for extended periods when you want to go fast. This is a pretty popular RC RU-vidr (won't mention any names). I was taught to only use it in short bursts and only when you need the power, regardless of the size of your ESC. I was also taught that 4S is always better than 3S when it comes to EDF jets (so far has been true). I didn't want to argue about it. All I'm saying is just because you have a car that can drive 200mph doesn't mean you are going to drive 200mph all the time.
@thebunkreport completely understand about not wanting to argue about it. Also, people forget basic electronic fundamentals when voltage V goes up, Amps A goes down! This jet is right on the precipous, where it's completely fine. Others may not. Now you got my curiosity of which YT is giving "half truth" advice haha Glad your enjoying the jet! 🇺🇲👍👊
@lewiemotorsports3616 in this video I used a spektrum AR637r. BUT!! I since then about q year ago have switch to FRSKY X20s and in this plane at the moment is an Archer SR8 Plus (stabalized rx) flies even better and rx is only $50 compared to the 125 (tax included) ar637t....light are wired thru existing wiring like ail and flap and gear.
@lewiemotorsports3616 NO!!! LJh9bbylife had one in there we were flying the migs. He lost signal in the air. Got it back thrn lost it again on approach. Got signal last minute landed in the dirt....luuuuckyyyyy the battery WILL hide that ar630. You needs antennas
@NoonzAirborneRC oh hell. See this is why I ask the pros! Ar637t/r it is. I have a 637 in my arrows mig, so far so good no signal loss. But more tempted to go the route you went and get the frsky and mate it to my tx16s
@lewiemotorsports3616 if you do frsky. Get the older stab ones. Tx16 doesn't do bc everyone said buy a spektrum d16 accst fyi I don't want ya to waste your money. I love my tx16 it is what melade me go to frsky x20 crazy radio. Wish I would of known about frsky in the beginning, wasting my $ on overpriced radios. Now, the spektrum unlocked 20ch. Where for YEARS U wanted mor ch buy another more expensive radio. Can ya tell I'm not a fan lol
I am far too nearsighted to enjoy (and frankly not wealthy enough to afford!) RC. However, I would find it interesting to super-detail this flying model as a static replica.
@DavidRLentz-b7i thank you for watching!! I have been adding scale details (3d printing) since I got it here and there. Bombay is scale with racks, only hold 6 bombs tho. In the process of air rushing and detailing the bombadier area. 👍👊🇺🇲
@@ljhobbylife yeah. This one doesn't have a spot person to mount one. But I already designed a pilot with a gimbal hahaha. And a dog for the backseat 😅🤣👊🇺🇲
@BatworxAero yes I did. The spar is reallllllllly tight on one wing. It's a 2 piece but I leave them together and in the event I want to take the suv I can take em apart.
@BatworxAero nice! Just a fyi, my kit was 90%, imho...the fuse wall lounges were cut short, one wing was 3/8 longer on the inside edge towards fuse, ...sits centered doesn't effect flight. 2 formers were offset I Meade new ones. All issues were front the offset zero not being accurate during cutting. The landing gear was the biggest issue for me. The gear recommended was discontinued like forever ago (the stud and bolt on type). HK will never have it. I fashioned mine to accept a jp hobby but had to make a shim with a pin and hole to keep the brakes in a fixed position since there is absolutely no room for a set screw. Gear is also weak. After 10 landings, they flatten bc the weight. They flatten just sitting there under its weight hahahaha, just bend em back. Now, after a while, the aluminum becomes weak. Fix? Buy a replacement aluminum one. I've been researching a composite bracket for the gear. Finding the size and thickness has become the issue. For the size, it is too thick and has no give. Jet runs and flies great. I just keep my eye out for an improvement for the gear
Great flight!, nothing like a long term review to tell you the real score. So hows the landing gear holding up? Ive gone though a lot of strut pins with my Freewing F16 70mm, since i land on grass. And it also looks like you dont use a flaperon setup, dont need it? Thanks, keep up the good work.
@@rodinvillarosa2924 landing gear has held up just fines! Even with not so great landings and "desert ops" 🤣 I did have one of the grub screws back out. It holds the lower strut to the upper. No biggy. Blue loctite and locked it down. Happened flight 99 other than that rock solid
@@rodinvillarosa2924 and yes no flaperons needed. I use a 4000mah lipo and weight is great land slow as you seen. A 3300mah lipo would be insane on this thing
Understood, yes that was the price at the time of this video. Since then they have upgrades the esc and gave it thrust reverse and many many people asked for it. So price had to go up a little. Hope tour enjoying the jet......wait I KNOW YOUR ENJOYING THE JET 🤣
