Best band ever imho. 15 in 89 when I discovered them. Played the album at least once a week from then on til maybe early 2000s. Not as much now, but still gets a play now and again. Saw them at heaton park and Wembley after the reunion and sounded good both times especially at Heaton Park.
Para mí, Reni es uno de los mejores bateristas del mundo, que increíble suena, aunque es verdad que no usa muchos fills sobre todo en fools gold y en esta canción
Like The channel name mate, THE HIGH I’m assuming?? Good album. Anyway love this song but it’s hard to learn it off the cd with it having 2 guitar parts but this makes it easier to hear what’s going on. Nice one mate!
saw these at ULU in 91with a great girl I'll never forget. , was on purple ohms and white doves, such a great gig, remember being on the first tube of the morning off our nuts with all the Indian postmen.
I've been to hundreds of gigs and seen so many bands. I can honestly say that Flowered Up Phobia tour Cambridge Junction is the best gig I've ever been to. The band were up for it, the crowd were dancing, sweat dripping off the ceiling. Just brilliant
100%! Cambridge was a fantastic gig with the original (and best line-up). Liam put a gang of us from Southgate on the guest list. Top boys, happy daze.
No word of a lie I spent a whole hour of my session with an old shrink called Sandra talking about Reni's performance of this song from Blackpool 1989. From his oral gesticulations to the way his bucket hat covered one's eyes. Then how his right hand would beautifully caress his kit to the way the black necklace swung from side to side as song was coming to an end. I was born with a 33% brain injury and left sided cerebral palsy and have always wanted to be Reni just for one day just to feel what it is like to be the greatest drummer that has ever lived. Don't know what I would do if we ever met him.
I've seen a lot of bands. Hundreds of gigs. Hand on heart, my favourite gig was Flowered Up, phobia tour, Cambridge Junction. Dont ask me why, it was brilliant!
I was at this Reading, can't believe it was filmed. I knew nothing about FU at the time, like everyone near me laughed out loud at the dancing flower, but I was transfixed for their entire set. I went to the record shop the following week and bought the album. I remember being a bit disappointed with it at first. It did grow on me, but I don't think anyone was prepared for how good Weekender sounded a few months later. Man, that track is a stone waller.
