Well that's Film Ventures International - they always replace the film's original opening credits with their own nonsense. See Pod People, Marooned, and Cave Dwellers for more examples. According to IMDB trivia, this one's unrelated opening sequence comes from a film called "Prisoners of the Lost Universe."
I'm a Joel fan through and through, but Mike's fine as a host. My only complaint is that the host segments drifted away from parodying the movie, and he used them to showcase his own hit-or-miss style of comedy. But no, the show didn't end with Joel, it did just fine without him.

The older I get and the more respect I acquire for other human beings who aren't exactly typical, the less I like these guys. The less control Joel had over these guys the ruder they got. RiffTrax is full of profanity, racism and hatred in general for anyone who's not typical chiefly because no one was there to stop them from acting that way. Any hack with a script like they use in every feature... can do what these jerks are doing. Watch a few Rifftrax shorts if you doubt. Bill Corbett was the worst but Nelson and Murphy have serious mental issues too, the older they get as far as respect to others. You want to do insult comedy, first buy an Andrew Dice Clay mask before you rip off his technique. There's more to good comedy than insulting other people who aren't just like you.

Hi, I don't know if you still get these messages but I wanted to thank you personally for all of this uploads a just show you a quick tip. Back up your uploads because I think they are going to start putting claims on these. I'm sure you got all of yours legally, as I did but it's nice to have a place to go, chat and watch the films, without going in the Closets and looking! If you are on the Riff traxx site, you will have noticed that many Mst3k episodes are for sale, as digital downloads! So what would be the next logical move? I think we can read between the lines and even though, I want them to make money, so the can keep making these, I'm mostly referring to the new Rifft raxs stuff. So take care and thanks for keeping the spirit of the show alive, even if that spirit is mostly found, in the Rifftraxs monthly membership and the thousands I've spent, over the last 30+ years. The character called Ernie, played the drunk in Critters. He was the guy who nobody believed and nowadays would be, The Conspiracy but. I think he landed up being the only one to return for the sequel and ha landed up being the hero of the series, although it's been too long since I saw it. Actually, it would be a perfect Rifftrax live movie, with the first one, having Billy Zane, Clu Gulager, the Mom from Cujo and E.t. and we haven't got near the action, explosions, etc. It's like a higher budget 'Laser Blast' and it doesn't take itself too seriously. After Gremlins, it's the best of the Hobgoblin, trolls, Ghoulies, etc. Movies the follows E.T.
