Ive stayed in Dundee all my life and I only learned about the Strathmartine dragon , over the years strike Martin has changed to Strathmartine and there's a pub in Dundee called The Nine Maidens , brilliant wee video mate , well worth a sub 👍
Deagh dhùrachd from across the pond! Can you please upload a video about mining during the 19th century in Scotland? The conditions weren't ALMOST SLAVE-LIKE, there's little doubt in my mind of how much miners in your part of the world suffered (horrible living conditions, dangers of the mines, etc...). Thank you for sharing. ✌️❤️
Hello from Nebraska! Some of my family came from Scotland to America, so I have a piece of my heart still there. America has some very interesting standing stones that they believe even pre-date the indigenous people who they believe came across the Bering strait. They even believe they might have been giants. History is so fascinating.
Aw that's awesome yeah alot of Highlanders left Scotland for the United states and Canada during the highland clearances glad you checked out my channel I didn't know about standing stones in America that's really interesting. The legends of Scotland talk about giants aswell the giants causeway in Ireland and a place called fingals cave in Scotland were supposed to be linked like a type of bridge but the two giants that lived at opposite ends of the bridge didn't get along. I might do a video on the legend 😊
@@Orpilorp its interesting all the story's that are past down to us that some people don't believe I think there's an element of truth to the legends that are told by our Ancestors.
Introduced indigenous species to continents they don’t belong in but at the same time they kill indigenous species wolves , bears, buffaloes, mountain lions etc etc. These day these same none indigenous that were introduced centuries ago are labelled pests, wild boars, carp from Asia who out number the natural fish inhabitants. Cats, rats, sheep and camels amongst others in Australia, whilst the dingoes stock are low, Tasmanian tiger already gone forever, kangaroos culled. What a mess.
No matter how it happened you can't help but Love the Bruce for being on the front lines with the men not afraid to fight, to risk his own safety and not afraid to kill. A leader of men at war with few equals!
McCulloch. I know it is one of the old Gallic Clans of Galloway. Sir Godfrey McCulloch, who was executed on the Maiden for murder was a seven times great uncle. Anything about origins before that would be of interest!
