I came across this video because I am also looking into this, but I have questions! What do you do in regards to insurance? Is there a phone on site that can be used if you don’t have an active phone? I’m not so worried about have my phone be active if I choose to take this route, but I would like to stay in touch with family. I am looking to make this longer stay than 3 months as I have been feeling called by spirit to take the leap for the past 6 years and just didn’t know workaway was a thing.
It really depends wherever you are and what program you choose but you can talk to the management about these details before going :) At the time, I was on my parent's health insurance and there wasn't a communal phone but I'm sure something could have been worked out xx
I have traveled to spain so many times and always solo.I love vacationing in Spain because it`s close to my home and I can get very affordable air ticket with budget airlines. My favourite place in Spain I have to say is Mallorca, the beaches are brilliant. Thanks so much for sharing, I have subscribed to follow your journey

I have a question. What does one do if you happen to be an atheist, but want to live in an intentional community? How about living situations? Like if someone wants to live in a yurt because they can't afford to buy a house, is this okay? Are there communal bathrooms/showers? Laundry facilities? Can I be in a place like this and be a non-vegan? (Open to being a mostly vegetarian, but occasionally eating fish, but I just am not there with the Vegan thing). Also, do all intentional communities do the polyamory (or free love) thing or is it left to individual people to decide what works for them? I am poly myself, but I also don't want to feel pressured in any way to sleep with someone if I am not into it. I am sorry if I am asking a lot of questions. Especially on an old video. I just am trying to figure out if this is right for me or if it will be something like the last time a situation where I was where people wanted to create an intentional community and they just got way too culty for me and it cost me my marriage because I am uncomfortable with hard drug use or people cheating or making me feel like all I am is free labor and not a friend or member of a family that needs help sometimes. Especially when I struggle with mental health issues and I am transgender. So I will want to know if I am safe to be in a place like this. Though, I don't think Hawaii is ever going to be realistic for me.
I am 100% following you question. WHile I am not transgender, my son is. We are all atheist/agnostic and bi-polar, some high functioning autism. Maybe we can start a community hahahahaha.

Thank you so much! At the farm I was at, we didn't have any volunteers with kids. But there definitely are places that have kids in the community so you'll just have to ask when researching and applying xx
I hope you have the best time! I was living with a few friends in a short term rental on the island. But there are definitely quite a few places to volunteer and do work trade on all of the islands.

right now, Hawaii is requiring a 10-day quarantine or negative test upon arrival so it is pretty regulated. I’ve felt safe but I am also living far out from any cities and am not with the people other than those that I’m living with so I have felt okay with everything

I’m pretty sure you have to be 18 or older for Workaway but you’ll have to double check :) Each place itself probably varies so you’ll have to check the specific place you’re applying to
