3 years after this video went online, Alberta along with dozens of companies in the oil and gas sector are launching the long discussed, and planned H2 initiative. It's still uncertain where all of this is going, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Canada is still importing millions of barrels of oil from the USA, Saudi Arabia, and West Africa. While it's true what Poilievre is saying that Canada imports oil from states run by dictators, the vast majority of it comes from the USA in the form of refined oil & gas products made from Canadian bitumen. Poilievre should speak more on this issue, instead of throwing out slogans like "dictator oil" (to win points against the Trudeau Liberals), because that's the small minority of it. The uncomfortable truth is that powerful US corporations control Canadian interests and pretty well dictate Canadian policy. This is what you'll never hear in the House of Commons in Ottawa, and for good reason. Anyone who openly opposes this USA, Canada arrangement can have serious political harm done them by powerful corporate entities (of which Carney is closely associated with).

If I am bank of canada, I never ever cut the rates this early. People like me eneded up with lots of benifit. Please god shake, dont cut and push up toward 8%. You guys gone lost all the young productive generation and it will be repalced by dogy black money poor life style immigartion. I really feel bad for canadian. But it is also your prine minister and bank of canada fault. They keep bringing over half million immigration with holding black money from India, china and phillipne through dogy education systems since so long. I am investor and since your prime minister gave statement that canada retain housing value and continue growing, I pulled out my 10 million from New zealsnd as housing dropped 23% as central bank hike the rates to 8%. But seems bank of canada been so slow and dont think so go to 8%. So all inestors thinking to put all multimillions in canada houses soon. It seems like the way prime minister and bank of csnada give us confidance to house value will be 2 million average by 2030 in canada. I feel so bad for native young canadian. I sold 20 houses last year snd all them recent new indian and chinese migrants who have black money from home country. You guys must stop immigration to country zero for 5 years. But you guys full of idiots. To late..i feel so sorry for you guys.

if there is any government that protects its people from the truth, it is the West. double standard is a feminine Genetic thing, deeper psychology tells this fact, so it goes to prove the otherwise of what the west and its ally's wants us to believe, that they are not weak. when the west talks about itself as being civilized, I don't understand what it means by so? how can the coercion of other nations, by Military treat in the 21st century, how can having military bases around the world, be termed civilized? the west and its ally's, like their forefathers that came to Africa and plundered it, have always believed and upheld the use of force over diplomacy for its gain. time was when you controlled history, time now that you don't, can you start to imagine what History would define the western leaders and its European counterparts of today? time was when the Roman empire, upon its atrocities, was viewed as strong and an ideal. but I can assure you that today, it's approaches is viewed as the most Barbaric and uncivilized. the world is gradually awakening to the FACTS. mark these words, "All western leaders and its European counterparts would be written on the wrong side of History. they would never be celebrated and I fear for their lineage too. the decisions of the west and its ally's, expressly shades light on the African proverb that "HE WHO THE GODS MUST PUNISH, THEY FIRST OF ALL MAKE HIM MAD" sums all the whys in their actions.

It’s a simpleton perspective to only look at rates. What drives inflation? - yes rates are a big part of the story But… - so is immigration (at an all time high) - so does government spending (at an all time high) - so does trade and currency factors - so does productivity (all time low) - so does regulation (worst in the G7) The reality is all the commenters on this video have been “trained” to think rates and rates alone dictate direction. A 25 bps rate is nothing, until rates are cut by 150 bps the impact is very small - people forget - a 4% mortgage rate would be the highest rates since 2008, the current 6+% rates are the highest since 2000….no one is saying go back to 0% or 2% mortgages - magnitude of cuts and relative rates matter. We are at a 25 year high right now so long as we don’t whipsaw back to the 25 year low, so long as immigration comes down, so long as governments start to show austerity, so long as productivity starts to improve, etc … it’s complicated…

You mean all we have to do is have responsible forward thinking politicians who are thinking of the future prosperity of our country, rather than just being popular enough in the short term to get re-elected and collect their pensions. Haven't seen that since I was a child, and I'm in my 60s

Thanks Mate, the sad truth is that no one has a clue, we all react to what happens as it happens and try to analyse it but can’t predict an iota of what is going to unfold in the markets… content creators are like amplifiers, when times are good they affirm it and try to tell you why it’s good and that it’s looking bullish but then all of a sudden the market turns bearish and everyone affirms it again and try to analyse why… it’s so sad that many are so powerless and it's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 19Bitcoin in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

Everybody knows inflation has jacked up to 8 percent in the very month russian oil and gas embargo was imposed. Else inflation was hovering around 4 percent in january 2022. So technically we got screwed by american policy and not by printing covid money. Now for all those red nikkas commenting here for 2% inflation to hit are the very bastards whom mortgages are already paid, cars are paid and their generations are living comfotably. Can you guys speak with someone that doesn't have a financial incentive for rate cuts to happen? Would be nice to get an unbiased response. If mortgage rates come down people will have more to spend and what will they spend it on? Housing. Hence more inflation. Until the expectation that prices are going to keep going up is not vanquished mortgage rates are not going to go down. The most important thing about an economy is predictability and nothing about predictability is more important than the expectation of long term 2% inflation. 2% is a random number some guy from New Zealand come up with but it is an important number because we all believe it as an important number.

How exactly are BoC rate cuts going to help fixed rate borrowers that are renewing? Unless the people renewing their fixed rate mortgages switch to variable, they're at the mercy of what bond yields are doing, primarily the USD 5-year. I think Canadian mortgage renewals are in deep trouble regardless what the BoC decides to do this year/next year.
