That was the largest drag line ever constructed I believe.

The size of that machine is astounding.

It's a shame they cut that machine up for scrap.. I used to work with a guy that was on the crew that chopped it up.

I visited this stripping shovel which was idled in 1990 on the way to R&F Coal. I was with Jim Brennan while I took a dragline course at his training center in Listie, PA.

I want to see an abandoned dragline or digger. Anyone know of one in PA, CT, NY, VA, MA, VT, NH, MD?

There was another dragline that sat about 500' from where this one was parked , it had to be moved for this one to mine where it sat .
