I’m a relatively new sub and wanted to say thank you for recommending The Bass Rock! The title sounded so boring that I could not fathom why anyone would pick it up, but your review sold me on it. I just finished reading it and wow. I haven’t been this engaged with a book in ages! Great atmosphere, pacing, and theme. Will definitely stay tuned for more of your recs ❤ Enjoyed the vlog and am glad you had safe travels!
That new ball of wool reminds me of some of your hair dye colours! 😊. The socks look lovely and cozy! Enjoy time with your family! ❤ looks like your gas prices are similar to ours.. 166.9/L
Glad to see you drove and arrived safely that is a good highway to drive on , when I drive down to Melbourne I do miss not having to go through Holbrook and see the submarine ……. It’s a lovely little town … enjoy your holiday 💕📖
Thank you for sharing this video. I'm a librarian in an international school in Iran, and I have an MA in Library Science. Do you know how can I get a job offer for this job in Australia? Because it's my dream job as well 😊
I teared up watching your video! I recently started working as a Library Technician in Canada and it's my dream job as well (not that it's perfect, but I also really enjoy what I do). Don't you love opening the library? I find it so magical 🧚♀
Re: The Claire Keegan book: Are those words hidden in the tree on the cover? I keep looking at it trying to make it out, but I'm not sure. 🤔 Maybe I'm seeing things.
Hi, I'm new to your channel and enjoyed watching. The desk was an amazing find on your last video. I am reading mind games by Nora Robert's, and I recommend it. Enjoy your day happy reading 📚 😊
Hi everyone, a kiwi here. What does Oz think of Charlotte Woods Stoneyard Devotional. As it is on the Booker shortlist. I have read it and enjoyed it, but you an keep your mouse plagues. Robyn
I highly recommend Daisy darker by Alice feeney and Six minutes by Petronella Mcgoven and Take me home by Karly lane and my last one is The library at wagtail ridge by Janet gover 📚❣️
@@very.casual.librarian I like the 🖤 on the Daisy darker , plus she has a new one out Good bad girl by Alice feeney ……… so what displays do you have at the library 🏫💕📖
Currently I have “Raining Cats and Dogs” which is books featuring cats and dogs (naturally!). I also have a “Mystery Flights” display where the books are wrapped up so you don’t know what book you’re going to get, but they have a brief clue to the country they’re set in on the front. It’s like a lucky dip!
One of Our Thursdays is Missing and Farewell to Arfs made me giggle....I like the sound of The Bookshop Ladies and Yeonnam-dongs Smiley Laundromat is on my wishlist!! Have a lovely weekend!!xx
As someone who lives in a very rural area of the US, I’m so jealous that you can travel via great public transit! I hate having to drive really far just to get groceries (and having a car in general) but also love living in the woods among such awesome wildlife ❤Wonderful video and look into your lovely library, per usual! 😊
I grew up in a really rural area with no public transport, so I completely understand! My school was the only school in the area, and it was an hour away! It is great to live where we live, and be surrounded by trees, but still close to the perks of the city!
You are so very delightful. I think I smiled throughout your whole video. You are wonderfully positive and deliciously happy. This was my first time watching any of your videos. You popped up on my feed, and the title caught my eye. I am so delighted. And, I understand about getting lost in a mall. I live in Oahu, and, there is a very large mall called the Ala Moana Center. It is an outdoors shopping mall that is so large that the first time I went there, walking, mind you, that I got so turned around I thought I would never find the way out. I thought that I would have to live there, as, they have exits from the three levels all going to different streets of the city. But, I was not too worried, as, they have a giant bookstore, which, after wondering in circles, I finally found, and figured if I could not find my way out, I would just live in the bookstore. 😂 Anyway, I loved your pep, your excitement, your joy, and you will be watched from now on. I am looking forward to your next video.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Omigosh you live in a stunning part of the world too! 🌺 I am not good with directions! 😅 And I think I’m getting worse with age! 😂😂😂 Thank goodness for Google maps! And it does make me laugh 🤭 I hope it makes everyone else laugh too! Thank you so much for being here - I’m so glad you found me! x🩷x
@@very.casual.librarian Hahaha! Age definitely has made my brain into mush. Not only can I not figure out where I am half the time, even with Google Maps, but, I start talking about something and then forget why I was talking about it in the first place! It is amazing I can live through each day. I told my son if I am not home when he gets home from school, then, he should send out the troops, as, most likely I got lost trying to go to the library! And, yes, it is Paradise here, as I am sure Melbourne is for you. I am very lucky to get to experience a place like this. I am embracing each day I am here. Well, it has been a true pleasure talking with you. I did not think I would get a reply. Haha. You are most kind. I thank you for your response. And now, I will let you go, as, I have gone on and on. I am usually silent and rarely comment to anyone. I am not very good with writing comments, if you could not tell. I never know when to stop writing! 🤣😂 I am wishing you and your family a beautiful night. Again, you are a delight.
@@very.casual.librarian Meanwhile, I'm happily surrendering to autumn vibes. I live in a place where I will spend at least a few months mostly below zero.
6:40 I'm so glad that I have my headphones in, otherwise my dogs would have been so confused. 😂For context, they are snuggled up on my bed and I'm watching this at 10pm. Also, can I just say how comforting it is to find another Aussie bookworm content creator. 💚💛
What a treasure you got on Facebook! It looks great in your place! The birds are so cheerful and happy! I adore your videos, so good to ❤ see your happy face!
Those birds are my little friends! They come everyday ❤️ We have a little whistle at each other and I always leave water out for them. If I’m inside, they’ll come right up to my windows and look in to see if I’m home 😆❤️ They’re so cute.
Ang, watching you communicate with the birds was so wholesome! 🧡 So interesting watching you getting excited over seeing buds growing and here in Canada we’re getting excited watching the trees slowly change colour 🍁 🍂
Those birds visit me everyday! They bring their families each year! They’re so cute - we’ve become firm friends, they sit under my verandah when it’s raining, and they always know I leave water out for them when it’s hot. ❤️
I loved that desk and the space is going to look lovely. Maybe you should give the bookshop some feedback about the playlist? Give them some suggestions. I hear what you say. The wrong music can put you off so much. I need my music to be very background music. And in tune with the place. I used to go to a tiny cocktail bar that played top 40 hits. So bad!
That desk is awesome! I got a FREE copy of Butter from one of my local bookstores. They get piles of ARCs and give them away for free a few times a year. I grabbed Butter just because it was bright yellow! I look forward to hearing what you think of it.
It’s interesting to note you are seeing signs of Spring while here in Canada we are putting the gardens to bed for the winter. In some strange way it brings us closer together.
It’s strange - so many of the people I follow online are preparing for Autumn! Sometimes I have to remind myself that it’s Spring! 😆🤪 It’s so confusing!
What a great day off you had! I’ve seen Butter before but don’t know anything about it. I await your report back on that one! I have a border collie as well and I love their attention to cues from their person! My Koda responds well to whistles and body language etc. Recently, we took in my FIL’s older Golden and I’ve noticed he just lumbers around doing whatever he wants and certainly is l not the greatest on the commands 😂😂😂 We are working on that😅❤🇨🇦
BCs are so switched-on aren’t they?!?! And they’re ready to respond at a moment’s notice! Bluebell can be really sensitive too, though. She hates thunderstorms and she startles really easily. She’s always watching us for cues!
I love the desk it’s so beautiful and looks so cozy with all you put on it 🧡🍂….. I have been to that Robinson’s bookshop it’s such a lovely shop but I agree with you about the music it’s should be soft relaxing music ……..I am reading Murder in the Scottish highlands by Dee McDonald 💕📖
It’s such a lovely bookshop! They really have decorated it so thoughtfully and the cafe is gorgeous! But yes; the music choice was odd. Other than that I loved spending time in there! (When I eventually found it! 😆🤦♀️)
I am currently an elementary teacher who is dreaming of being a librarian. Your videos are really inspiring. You are convincing me everyday to make the leap and change careers. Thank you for providing hope that people can actually love their job.
Also a teacher turned librarian! 👋🏼🩷 I feel so lucky everyday that I get to do what I do. It’s also important for me to share that I didn’t know what I “want to do when I grow up” until well into my 30s (with 2 kids!). It’s not too late x
How lovely that you happened to be in the shop when your friend was working!! The wardrobe leading to the children’s section was utterly delightful as well 😊❤
