@@BostonNoName yeah my bad, I should’ve specified. I should’ve asked what mods are you planning on doing to the engine of the XR? If you go with a BBK what size?

You should do some cold starts on your car and your bike. Are either of them difficult to start on freezing cold mornings?

I thought long and hard about this bike as my first. I thought about the xr 150l and also the Hawk dlx 250. Both top out about the same maybe a little more on the Hawk. But for parts availability and servicing possibilities, I chose the Honda. I learned on this bike. It put up with my newbie shortcomings, I got my license, the bike is played and insured and I am on my way. Just ashamed that I waited 63 years to do this!

@@markkotishion2379 man it’s the perfect bike honestly. Any city run I have to do is on this bike. Think I’m ready for the crf300 now

@@BostonNoName I like the CRF 300l & the 450 as well. I was intimidated by the 300 when I sat on a new one at the dealership. It sat taller and had more beef to it. You know, I feel weightless on the 150l at 50 miles an hour on a small highway, the bike is weightless like wings. But stall out on a hill by a bad shift and that 282 lbs dragging me backwards become apparent real quick!

@@markkotishion2379 check out the crf300Ls .. it sits about 4 inches lower than the regular 300L for short riders like us lol

@@BostonNoName I stand at 5'9" so I flatfoot the 150l just fine. Funny, I was the tallest going in to high school and the shortest 4 years later at graduation. The 300l just looked and felt like a much larger beast when I sat on it. If I win the lottery any time soon I'll find a good used one and keep the 150l as well as sort of a Tom & Jerry mule team.
