I have been watching your sermons on line from Orange County, California.I am really enjoying your teachings.Thank you for putting your services on line.
I gleaned the following from a study I've been in regarding the correspondence of John's gospel with Revelation. I certainly could not have seen this on my own. If this is way too "out there" I won't be offended if it is deleted! (A). John 18:11 "...shall I not drink the cup (of abominations) that the Father has given me?” (B) Revelation 17:4 "...the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations..." (C) John 18:38 "...Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”" (D) John 19:11, "...Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, " (E) John 20:17 "...Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God." (F) Revelation 21:2. "...And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." Perhaps the "Do not touch nor cling" idea is predictive of the bride of Christ not having "contact" with the groom before the appropriate time; Revelation 19:9, "...the wedding supper of the Lamb." John's verses regarding Mary's venture into the tomb describes her actually seeing a type of the Ark of the Covenant; an angel at the foot and another at the head of the surface where Jesus had lain, (conceivably with the bloody residue of his sacrifice on the shroud laying on the surface as well.). After thousands of years of only male priests being able to see the Ark of the Covenant which was a representation of Jesus, God grants Mary, a woman, the privilege of seeing the New Testament Ark. John 21:25, "Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written." "WE (Christians) are those books." (Warren Gage)

Great video. I’m still pondering if there’s any significance to Barabasas’ name or just that Jesus was a common name for the time. I’m trying not to ponder “toe yeast” 😂
Thank you Pastor Michael. Great Bible study tips. Your point about reading in the context of the original audience versus reading in a more general sense was thought provoking.
