@@schworak well , I kept pressing to get it back in and I was afraid I would bend the retainer out of shape. But you have to push it on there pretty hard .
Hi, I know I’m late to the party and I appreciate your video- I gave you a like, but I have one small problem: I’m very tall, but I’m a woman and I have no upper body strength much to speak of and I can never get my wing on the center stand. I see you guys do it all the time and I would love to get on this center stand, but I can never get it to do it. Back in the 80s when I had my first goal wing I couldn’t even get that on the center stand and that was a 1200.
@Fraiyia what i do is step on the center stand, lean the bike upright until the stand is touching both sides, then with two hands on the passenger grip pull while pressing on the stand peg hard. If that doesn't work not sure what to suggest. It shouldn't take too much strength. It is more technique. May want some near by to catch in case it tries to tip.
Hey, really appreciate this video. Quick, consice, & accurate. Bent the tab on the door, but it didnt look bent...so i popped it out to confirm how it had worked. This video was the ticket to getting it popped out & make sure the tab was messed up, not the latch. Thank you
That stupid axle gear wouldn't come off when I tried to remove the tire! I had to remove the rotor and work it out. Once I got enough distance I was able to grip and pull the axle gear out but it was a pain
i replaced the goofball rack/seat to a solo spring setup and mounted a brakelight with internal signals.. under the back of the seat... and added a custom made sissybar. bambi bolted out and almost wrecked us but went between the front tire and the radiator. it took out the radiator cover so i replaced it with a chrome one. bambi died on the scene. she runs like a top. ive owned it for over 3 years and never had any real issues, replaced starter once, and tires a couple times. i literally ride it every day. every. day.
I built it. Dabler auto body here in Salem dud the paint. I loved it so much but wasn't getting to ride it with and now i am about ti retire and move abroad so even sold my GL1800.
It just takes time and practice. I use to use Lightwave 3D but took about 8 years off of doing any 3D work. I wasn't all that good back then. I had my 2001 goldwing and after riding for many years ('69) I can tell that the guy on the wing is not catching the take off and not speed shifting. He should run in the 12's. These bikes rock so ride 'em like you stole 'em when racing. Waste of time watching this!!
It is a custom mod. Because the sabre only has bench seats, i took it to a local guy who cut the pan and shaped it specifically for me. It has enough lip on the back to prevent sliding.
@@schworak ahh ok yea I figured. I have an 05 and just bobbed the rear fender but still kept the longer seat. I wanted to buy a bobbed rear fender but I don’t dig the springer seats lol so I was hoping someone figured out a way to use a normal solo seat that could just bolt on some way haha thanks for the reply man!
I thought the vtx mufflers looked good but I like big pipes I have a 98 honda vt1100 aero mine had Vance and hines straight shot they sounded ok but it took me 2yrs looking for the huge oem exhaust put the new exhaust on and haven't looked back u got a nice bike
By the time I was all done, I had to swap the pipes one more time to get the right look. The VTX pipes became odd looking as I reshaped the back end of the bike so I ended up going with some Hard Krome pipes because they were shorter. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PxXgjBbLrI4.html
You raked the thing at the neck with triples off a wide glide ? Fantastic work, I'll bet it is lighter steering effort than before - you likely reduced trail to near 0 but still positive. What triples did you use ? BTW I have done this as well to a savage, having triples made by a local machinist and I fit it to a 89 KX250 fork set, complete with aluminum 21" wheel. I had terrible handling with the forks mounted the right way. I had to flip em left to right, and instant beautiful handling. I overshot and got negative trail and the flip got it back to small positive number. Anyway I called mine a cheater chopper - I didn't want people to think I cut the neck - That's what makes it a "Chop"per. Chopping the neck.
The only part that came off another bike was the tail light which is an aftermarket for a Yamaha sport bike (if I remember right) The entire rake system came as a kit. (forgot where I got it from now. Sorry) It had a big zero-g feel at low speed cornering but when rolling it was fantastic!
@@schworak I've seen those kits. Seeger makes I think. Atleast for a savage. and zero G feel ? Is that like its super easy steering at low speed but rolling its more stable ?? Stablity is related to wheel base, spinning mass, rake etc more than Trail. Trail controls steering effort. Near 0 but positive is ideal. Like a sport bike.
Sorry but i don't speak German. Changing the headlamp is pretty easy. Just reach in, remove the rubber, flip the wire clip and the light comes out. The trick us doing it without seeing it.
