@@okanaganoverlanding2912 it was too small sadly for the two of us because I bough the smaller one and not the XL. We are actually going to just keep using our gazelle tent.
I’ve been snow free for a few weeks here, and just ordered a rooftop tent for my Gladiator. So, I’d like to see how your tent worked out for you. Either way, awesome video, and stay warm out there!
I drive 2009 jeep wrangler Rubicon by the way my name is Chris. I don’t know if I see you on the road.before I always watch your videos, and you make good videos
I went on this trail (as an inexperienced person with a stock GC Trailhawk) and got myself stuck (both tires off the ground in the back) getting down to the cabin. Luckily someone more experienced came and helped me out. Up at the ridge was beautiful, the road to that point was pretty easy, but that last segment to the cabin was rough for someone inexperienced. You made this look really easy, but for those like me that are inexperienced be careful.
@@bala_adventures just messing around - that's actually me and yes, it's a Disco 1. I've had people ask if it's all those things before; with the roof off it confuses people
I like hitting this spot up when I got extra time on a Sunday. It's nice living close. I'm in Oakdale. When there is snow in the hills it's hard to find a decent trail. I also like doing Crandall peak trail from camp nine road when the weather's better.
Nice dude. Been following your videos and you’re always going to some pretty cool spots. I’m local, maybe I can join you one of these days on one of your cruises.
They have always closed the east running roads off of Cottonwood as they close the gate out of longbarn at the day use area usually around Dec 15th . This time of year limited to the roads west of Cottonwood like duckwall Mt etc. Nice run out on this first major snow ❄️
Dang that’s crazy every year I’ve been out there all those gates are open! Maybe they just couldn’t get to them the last years since the snow was deeper by now.
I seen the Mexican cartel last time I was there right by the big gold mine before going up to the cabin.. 3 trucks full of heavily armed men…I never went back
Hey there! We just saw you and your crew at Leavitt Lake. Great looking group, love to see more content. Maybe cross paths on the trail someday. We will keep an eye out. Safe wheeling! 2017 JKU & 2021 TRD Taco
Very nice video I like the way you guys didn't tear up anything you didn't have to awesome about a month ago I took my 100th trip through the Barney Riley I've been willing that trail for over 30 years I came in from Leviathan but went out the trail which meant I went uphill with you guys just went downhill It was a b**** officially the toughest that that Barney Riley trail has ever been mother nature was not kind I did notice that you camped along a small river on the way out I think you were on LA viethan mine road if it's where I think you were you need to be careful because that is run off from Leviathan mine Is bad mojo going on there I have 2 more trips planned for this year Maybe 1 day I'll run into you on the trail I noticed at the bottom of the last steep Hill you went right towards the Hot Springs have you ever gone straight there about another half a mile there is a very nice camp there that we built many years ago it doesn't outhouse it as a stainless steel firing and a picnic table which we brought in on the trail about 28 years ago Next time try it it's a nice little camp Cheers
And did you install any underbody protection? I ask because I just got a '22 JTR and it's got a 3 inch lift with 37s currently. Everything else stock and I'd love to do Rubicon next year.
You should be fine. I did the rubicon on 37s like that a few times. No I don’t have skids yet but I would definitely get them, these things Hang up on the stock crossmembers and belly a lot. Also I have 538 gears and an aftermarket UD44 in the front.
So the trail isn’t too bad. Except for the rutted spot we went through. But there is another way around all the ruts we just didn’t find out till after the fact. We use OnX Offroad for our trips. Also couldn’t get to the hot springs from the trail side. You have to go in from the other side of the river to get there. River is still flowing heavily! Have fun!
Once you descend down the big hill down to that circle turnout area with the sign if you walk across the road and go into the hills there’s actually an old mine back there
