For the 0.22 pixel precise jump in 2b, can’t you do a double walljump to make it semi free? It works every time when I do that (from the correct pixel)
Imma be honest maybe it’s because I’m older now and no longer the target audience for GDQ’s but holy shit is the announcer interrupting with donos so extremely annoying. I don’t give a shit about donations, I’m here for watching the run and the commentary to understand said run. Not anything else that is irrelevant and annoying.
it's a charity fundraiser first and entertainment second, and sometimes those conflict. i think it's fair to say that the fundraiser is more important even if it can be slightly annoying. furthermore there's no interrupting, we're asking for donations to be read at points where we wouldn't have a lot to say.
It's kind of amazing how many games are coded on spaghetti. Regarding VVVVVV, I remember reading about an enormous switch-case block that encompasses pretty much ALL of the game logic... yeah, that's not exactly good programming practice.
pretty sure VVVVVV was one of the more earlier games that Terry had released - he was pretty much but a newb in that regard. granted, nowdays he had amassed both fame and skill to make bigger and better projects, but its still fun to mess around in his old works. Super Hexagon still remains one of my favorite arcade-like games because of the sheer simplicity alone.
there's a glitch based on that: iirc each line of text is its own game state, and advancing text just adds 1 to that state. so get a text box open somewhere you're not supposed you, and you can just move through states by advancing text and credits warp
