250k in the 40s is not ANYwhere close to a billion dollars today... it's not EVEN 5 MILLION TODAY.....now to BUILD a new diesel electric it costs about half that and it probably would cost less to BUILD a big boy so a billion dollars today coukd BUILD 200 to 400 big boys and EVERY STATE could have enough to handle most of their passenger service so the whole COUNTRY could be yanked AROUND by big boys for a billion dollars today
1:23:52-1:23:59 This scene is extremely weird: an Amtrak F40 is assisting an SP diesel instead of carrying out its normal roles of pulling passenger trains! Also, this scene is an outtake among others as it is not in the Beaumont Hill Cab Ride program!
@@huntercoleman460 no I did not that's interesting thank you for sharing that I do know that the Rio grande and the Santa Fe had a war over who was going to go through Colorado first through a certain area I think the Rio grande won in the end
@@seanmas7599 I actually saw somebody on a video contractors who had a trailer throughout the entire house in with your every room hanging from the ceiling and cleaning the bathroom I Love Trains but I'm not going to do that much but if you want to go for it
Hi Texas Train Master! I haven't see this SP double feature in a LONG time!! I remember SPs ICTF yard , and the WC train yard from this video when I was younger! Having not watched this footage since the late 90s it's great to watch it again! Thanks for uploading this to RU-vid! :)

@@andross51 I don't think I have one but I did upload a program about 3759 making a run over Cajon Pass also I might be doing something risky I have tons of old pentrex VHS and I'm thinking of filming and uploading them the problem is I uploaded one of the programs about Tower 55 several years ago but I got taken down another RU-vidr has been uploading their programs maybe I can do it too after all I give up my disclaimer at the beginning of the video and put it in the description it's risky but I kind of want to finish off the year with video tapes and DVDs I have about trains
