@@brucecollins641 there are many stories but the one I’ve been taught is a mockery of the Irish but it tells a story about an Irish washerwoman who’s husband comes home drunk and knocks over her clean washing. The dance shows them arguing and chasing abt the house. So yes it is a mockery hence the name The Irish jig.
Just love watching these highland games footage,i live in Plymouth now and miss stuff like this,not sure where the sailors hornpipe fits in but bravo to those dancers and the pipers playing.🏴👏
