newriverratsam newriverratsam FWIW the section in NC is practically forgotten. The WV section is the only section that matters to most boaters. You're welcome.
The climb hasn't changed much since I last climbed it in 1985. It's interesting, we climb the routes, it changes us, but we don't change the climb. Thanks for posting your climb.
I love the Greenbrier River. My little family cabin down there is the only reason I have ever stayed in West Virginia after college. I plan to live in that cabin one day.
That a Coosa? I ran the upper new in my Jackson Coosa last year. It was a perfect run for the boat which handled it wonderfully. I've since switched to a Remix 59 WW boat and can't wait to get back out there and try the new again in a WW boat :)
was this the "upper new" that all the rafting companies run (Class I-III+)? I 'd love to take my new coosa with me the end of august and run the upper new with it but I just don't know if any of the rafting companies will let you run your own boat along with their guided trip (I got some friends who would need to run the guides trips duckies or rafts).
Did the kayak do well other then the one spill? Is there any rental company up there who rents sot kayaks for running the "easy" upper new? I'm tempted to pick up a coosa or Cuda (maybe even the big tuna) and run at section of the river.
a lot of people...including natives, dont realize there is some decent snorkeling in the lauderdale/miami area. july is outstanding for snorkeling in south florida. calm calm waters.
