I swim 4 mikes solo every morning lake crossings and have done 6 mile sea swims in Thailand and this device is my faithful companion. I saved a little girl once too.
I am working to donate a few to the local government where I live to mount on posts at the most historically dangerous beach locations but the rescue cans are really expensive, over $100. I'm considering making them myself using natural plastics made from avocado seeds or other materials, paired with a hemp rope too so that it will be all natural and not harmful to the environment if lost. Do you have any ideas on where to get the cans for a reasonable cost, or on working with natural plastic alternatives for something like this? Thx
