Hi there! You'll just need to get a pdf export! Click File tab in Revit, choose Export(PDF Export). Then select the views/sheets to export. Once your pdf file is created, right click on it and choose Open with > Adobe Illustrator. This way your pdf becomes editable in Illustrator!
For the export of line work, is there another way? sketchup takes so long for the pdf file export ! Otherwise, the illustrator can't make the pure line work if the file is exported to png or jpg(those file types will just basically image on the illustrator, but using image trace on illustrator doesn't have same qaulity like what you did.
Hey there! As you mentioned, only the PDF exports are editable. If exporting the entire drawing takes too long, you can export it in smaller parts and then put them together in Illustrator.
Yes of course, you could show the footings in a more 3d way! In this illustration we just left them as 2d projections, it's up to your representation style
ami missinng a step? I have appeareance clicked on my eyedropper I do same>fill and stroke > copy and paste in place and select the vector pattern I want but it turns into white and nothing
The link to free blocks is in the description box! Or you can get them from here: www.rayon.design/app/model/d3a94ad8-f1a4-4f06-8a57-01ac45f8a5e7?token=rayon-template&
Hi there! You might have empty paths in your selection. Try opening the layers panel, click on the arrow symbol on the layer, and check out if there are any empty paths.Hope this helps!!
How did you change shadow color?? I changed the color of whole building line, but I couldn't find how to change shadow color. Would you explain it in detail? There is no way in my SketchUp to change the shadow color. Is there any other plug-in?? And when I export image to pdf, picture quality of the shadow image was not good...I've already changed to hybrid...
Hi there! As you've said there’s no way to change Shadow color in SketchUp directly. You can get an image export from SketchUp and change its color in Photoshop or Illustrator as we did in 8:12 in this tutorial. For the image quality, you can check out the Image Resolution and Image Compression from PDF export options in Layout. Hope these help!
Just to clarify, in this video, the shadow appears pinkish because we placed a colored surface on the ground. You can try this as well, but if you get the shadow export without the background surface, it will appear gray as usual.
hello, I am a new beginner of illustrator and in the step we choose the main lines after painting, select > same > fill & stroke button seems inactive on my page. I want to ask what is the reason for that and how i fix it?
Hi there! After coloring with Live Paint, you should go to Object Menu > Expand. After that, you can ungroup the coloring group, and only after that you'll be able to apply fill&stroke selection. Hope this helps!
If you have an iPad, it could help you to conceptualize your ideas quickly, making sketches and even technical drawings as we've showed in this tutorial
When you type something go to right panel, section TEXT, and then STYLE. Click on the gray rectangle. A small window will pop out with more option. Look on the last position - is size: S M L XL and [...]. Press 3 dots and you will have more option to choose your own size.
first thank you for the great video!! i have one problem: my window tool doesn't "create and place" the window to a wall? how can I solve it ? thanks for any help!
Hii thanks a lot for the tutorial, great content! That bike path part, my contour is like an offset path (there are only nodes in a single line, not like yours that has nodes like a ''contour''), do know how to transform the offset in a full path so I can cut with the scissors like you did? Thank you so much!
Great question! That part is really missing in the tutorial First, we increased the stroke weight of the bike lane. Then, followed these steps: Select the bike lane line, go to Object Menu, and click on Expand. This way your line becomes a shape with contour. Then you can use offset and everything!
Love this app. But a question regarding line weight, even if I use 1 px, it’s somehow still thicker than what I would usually have after exporting a pdf from vector works. Could you please look into to this issue.
We have many step by step tutorials that show and explain everything in detail for beginners in the channel, highly recommend you to check out our newer tutorials as well
Hi, thank you for making such amazing video, however, I have a question here as a newbie. May I know if the scale will run if I send the scene from Sketchup to Layout?
Hi, so glad you liked the tutorial!! If your model scale is 1:1, the size will adjust automatically based on the artboard size you've chosen. In the Sketchup Model section in Layout, you can verify the Current Scale from the Camera Settings.
