I own this one, my first “dress” watch- or so I thought when I was a starting collector. Still own it, and love it. I wear it for family events, weddings and sorts.. classic look, beautiful dial, leather band looks great but not so comfortable. I bought a second one as a present for my big brother.
This model doesn’t get its deserved attention, unfortunately. It is a much more mature and elegant choice than the bland popular PRX, imo. I own the blue dial version, with a black leather band- one of my most beautiful and well finished pieces- and certainly a favourite of mine!
@@timepieceofart more than 3 years, and I can say only positive things about it. It might have a bit of a lengthy lug to lug. I love wearing it, and I look at that dial like a teenager in love 😁.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
@@timepieceofart hmm well check out a Mido Commander day date twelve faceted bazel and also goldsand dial, prezidential bracelet. Code is Mido 8230. I paid 400 euro for it.
@@timepieceofart for 400 euro I got a Mido Commander automatic, day date 12 faceted bezel goldsand dial, prezidential bracelet, lume, hacking, stainless steel all around.
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. MAMACOO brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
Fully agree. Also, don't forget the Ballade. Same or similar movement, but with an art deco-ish dial. I found mine brand new, at a UK discount clothing retailer for 250GBP, which is exceptional value for money.
I think that the PRX really made the whole "old money" look more accessible to everyone and was definitely more promoted, but i can't deny that the gentleman is a better watch overall
Honestly, i leave the scratches on all my stainless steel bracelets as a reminder of a time well spent with the watch. Maybe you should visit your AD to have tou bracelet polished.
I don't get the prx hate, it's an amazing watch. Perfect for pretty much any occasion, wears extremely comfortable, offered at a very reasonable price point...I own a lot of watches and my prx is my favorite hands down
My 1st mechanical watch purchase was my Seiko SRPE03 King Turtle. But, the watch I truly wanted to buy was a Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm, which I also purchased. The Turtle is my only dive watch in my box of field watches. I chose the Seiko at 1st because it was easier to find a service shop in Asia. But, life is short and jumped over to Hamilton Khaki Field line. I have 7.5 wrist a rarely wear my King Turtle. I have medical related vision issue that make seeing and telling hour and minute markers apart. I truly prefer numerals over hour markers. The cyclops though is a loved feature imo, but the majority hate it. I like my watches on bracelet and the King Turtle is the heaviest watch among my collection. I've learned over times to prefer watches with less weight on wrist. Its specs at the time: sapphire glass, ceramic bezel, textured bezel ring, great lume and unique waffle dial justified the sale AD price I paid. I had concerns with QC and my watch alignment is almost perfect, but I was fortunate. The 4R36 in my King performs at +20 to +30 SPD. Worse compared to my 4R36 in my Seiko 5 Field SRPG27K1 +15 SPD at 1/3 of the price of the King. I also own the Seiko 5 SNK381K1. The 7S26 movement is -15 SPD. Wished Seiko improves the accuracy of their movement, its always a game of lottery. The SNK381K1 will be my last Seiko for now. I'll wear my Turtle during Asia Typhoon season. I don't swim with my watches 😊 I don't daily my mechanical watches for work either. I try to keep my mechanicals blemish free. My resine Casio mrw-210h is more ideal with my work in automotive. I do miss wearing a mechanical on weekdays for work though. Im currently looking at Hamilton Khaki Field homage to take the bumps and scrapes at work.
yeah nah.. 1) the movement is non servicable due to Tissots modification to enable 80 hours power reserve on a budget with plastic parts inside .. why do you think do high end brands have 70-80 hours movements that cost 20 times more.. 2) the bracelet has NO micro adjustments which made is very uncomfortable for me while my wrist shrinks and expands during the day (work/freetime/sport/evening) 3) the bracelet may look nice but is very think and feels cheap.. 4) the dial is nuce but the lume is garbage 5) the lug to lug is absolutely ridiculous for the 40mm version its 54mm with the endlings.. thats like some invicta watch ☠️ it made my pretty average 6'5-6'7 wrist seem tiny because of the size of that thing.. i had to return the watch because of all these issues. the 35mm variant came much later but still had the movement problem . 6) antireflective coating is lame. hard to see the time on the darker colors like blue and green i got an Unimatic U1 for the same proce and it has solid bracelet with micro adjustments, much better AR coating and lume better by miles.. has only a seiko nh35 -42hours movement but is serviceble .. and built quality is much better. pretty close to a Tudor Black Bay 58
At the end, is a matter of personal preference, regarding the design. I agree that the use of plastic parts may be an issue in the future. Btw, I complement your choice of watches Unimatic U1 looks stunning, honestly i havent seen on "in the wild"😀
@@timepieceofart thnx mate, yes its a rare sight, built quaility is amazing for the price. the only negative thing is, the built quaoity comes with a weight.. adding the solid bracelet the watch is a bit heavy but i get used to it... another recent alternative to the PRX is the Citizen Super Titanium which looks even better than the PRX in my opinion but the clasp looks cheap..
@@matts8791 200-250€ to swap the entire movement.. yeah 🤣 you call that a service ? just checked the pricing at their site.. for a 500€ you can service a Rolex Datejust... 250€ is crazy for a cheap watch brand if you ask me..
wearing this exact reference now. If you can find it get it! Such a fun watch that'll probably be the most unique in most peoples collections. Love the super titanium.
What i am trying to say is comfort, considering it's size. In my humble opinion, its one of the most comfortable big watches i have put on, maybe because of the short lugs.
I'm not big on watches that are that large. When your entire wrist is taken up by the head case of the watch I personally think that it really takes away from the style of said watch
Prx is undoubtedly the best among them, but why not Citizen as an alternative? I am a Tsuyosa owner and I am very pleased with it. It has a problem-free mechanism. I think Citizen meets the expectations more than enough. I don't think there are many differences between them.
