THANKYOU for the answer, I think we should makethem wear chinese wrestling jackets, remove submission/ippon/pins instant wins, and score all of the 3 with the same score example any Big major throw/ippon 5 points, any submission allowed and 5 points, 20 seconds pin(like osaikomi) 5 points, and no instant win, you win by outpointing your opponent with 15 points ahead, what do you think Sir? THANKYOU

Whats the fish dance ? The funky Chicken? 🐔 Embarassing. I found fighting in the ring ironically mire dangerous than the street for the most part because your opponents are easily as skilled as I was and it kept me humble. Ko is a bad thing and the effects lasts a long time potentially permanent. I think I got anher issues from CTE.

2:58 athleticism, timing or reflexes and technique. Also for technique you stop making much progress after a while for example a guy with 1 year of training would a clone of himself with 0 years but if that guy has 20 years and his clone has 21 then it wont make much difference

Here are my thoughts as a KSW brown belt... Let's start off with Gary Goodridge. My teacher's understanding of that situation was that a Canadian KSW school paid him to wear the KSW dobuk (gi) thinking that would be great advertising/get more students interested in KSW (sigh). At KSW's core it looks like it's supposed to be a submission style martial art from what you learn in class. You learn common kicks/punches as well to give you some striking ability as well. I liked this when I was looking for something because it sounded more well rounded. At lower belts, you focus more on kicks/punches when sparring even though you learn submission techniques (not very effective ones IMO). At black belt, you're supposed learn and execute better submissions...stuff similar to BJJ (but I never saw it). I always thought KSW competitions were dumb because I never saw anyone actually using many KSW techniques...just relatively standard kicks/punches. They only use half of what we learned in class (which is probably because the other half wasn't very practical for sparring). A lot of the lower belt submission techniques were very situational surprise techniques that were really only going to be effective after a lot of practice and if your opponent wasn't expecting it. Because of my teacher, it was great cardio and I did get to practice a lot of stuff that was actually useful. You just have to temper your expectations if you think this is going to get you ready for MMA. I don't regret it at all. Here's probably the best example of KSW "on the street". Jay Lee was not a "karate master" like the video says, but the head instructor at The Woodlands, Tx. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vhavpBocyow.html&pp=ygURUElNUCBDSE9QIEhPVVNUT04%3D

i enjoyed watching season 1, but watching season 2 now I think a lot of improvements have been made. Like the pilot of any tv show, I think it takes time to learn and make it better. the second season has some good focus on situational awareness, looking for improvised weapons, diffusing situations, and talking to the police after. I'm very sorry to hear of your severe injuries. watching season one I thought it was a neck or head injury from what I remembered, I did not realize your knees got jacked up. It's a shame that this experience was so shitty for you. I really like the intention behind a self defense championship. I think some good things to come of it are the proof for non fighters just how damn insane it is to think a person can easily handle multiple opponents at once, survive a knife encounter, or even to run away from opponents. I also like the idea of showing how defending yourself in messy, cluttered, or cramped environments changes things. I %100 agree that safety for a competition like this should be taken very seriously, and insurance needs to be in place to get people who are injured there, like you were, taken care of in terms of medical bills

To answer this question in nutshell from my opinion. I would says boxing/mu Thai, yes is safer if you are only training/sparring lightly. Real fights, then you risk concussions/death, or CTE later down the road. Mu Thai skull fractures from a nasty elbow or knee, brutal. Even sparring can be dangerous if going to hard or poor training partners/communication like chill the fuk out. BJJ, yes when suffering a severe injury just a joint injury it takes a long time to heal. Knees such as ACL/MCL/LCL or meniscus depending on severity can definitely mess stuff for sometime. Arm bar injury from a poor partner over cranking. Not that all white belts are savages/unsafe but I would say youngsters are more spays/unsafe. Good adults with morals/respect and usually not, A-Holes yes! Again partners/ communication. Roll mostly starting from the ground, most injuries/severe despite and Ass cranking arm bar, Kimora or what not, happen from take down and uncontrolled body weight. Severe injuries shouldn’t happen abut if they do i would except it more in competing not training but happens in training too and has happen to me my first round years ago before I went back. Just take it easy, learn the technique and roll one or two rounds once a week when you feel ready or more, start from the ground. Scissor takedowns and as he said pull guard are dangerous and few others that should be avoided. Look up most dangerous moves Train around Carlos Machado gym, their motto is train safe/stay humble.

Isn’t strategic warfare relatively advanced as far as ancient civilizations go? That is, not every ancient (or medevial) army would have utilized strategy as much as the famous strategic wins, which would turn the battle more into a battle of skill or weaponry rather than group strategy… Also, I’m thinking of medieval knights, and how they were basically the tanks of the time in terms of their armour… surely, a single knight, if unopposed by another knight, and surrounded by unarmoured peasant conscripts, would have been able to deal damage to several unarmed opponents comparatively easily…?

@@RamseyDewey Didn't expect to get an answer from you, what an honor! But no, of course everyone has an ego. I'm talking more about merchandising and endless commentary, silly beefs between fighters, sensationalism and the whole commercial apparatus that surrounds UFC. The fact that I don't see this (non-verbal) explicit behavior in Lethwei championships gives me great satisfaction (I don't have access to Myanmar cable TV, so...I may be wrong). Some people, like myself, are more entertained by the rawness of a headbutt, rather than a knockout by jodan ushiro geri, for instance. It feels more like a "real" combat between two people. Of course, this is as perishable as the rate at which Lethwei becomes more commercial. I'm sure we'll be seeing cringeworthy facedowns, unnecessary trash talking, big personalities and flashy stuff in Lethwei in no time, with the bonus of more restrictive, palatable rules for the spectators! I've been watching your content for a long time and I'm a big fan of your work, cheers!!

@GerhardGeficky-jg4ok
@GerhardGeficky-jg4ok 10 часов назад
@@RamseyDewey a Steroid possibly an unknown derivative. China has the best chemists in the world. Look at his low body fat like 5 percent. Only achievable through " supplementation ". That's a fact. I had a close friend who was doing steroids for years but told me I wasn't working hard enough to achieve his body composition. I bested him in weight lifting , flexibility and skill. But never looked like him with that shredded look. It depends on what PEDs people take. Everyone in the UFC is on Juice because the president , commentators( Rogan) are on juice so why are the fighters clean? Steroids make money because of their ability to help you recover. Recover = train more and more intensity with less rest. If a fighter doesn't use Steroids I'd be worried. How about the "Natty Bodybuilders"?
