Hey Guys My name is James and I am a part of the Monstercat Community. I watched several Monstercat content videos on RU-vid and I'm like hey, I wanna share some of my opinion too. So yeah I started a RU-vid Channel, I will be making Ranking Videos regarding the Monstercat Releases. Just to say I will not be releasing videos very frequently, I will just make some Monstercat Ranking videos when I feel like to.

Aw man I only discovered this channel today, so sad you’re leaving 😢 I really like a lot of your picks from Monstercat’s 2023 catalog, they have been pumping out constant bangers for many years. Well, good luck on future endeavors ❤
Another great RU-vidr leaving this year, damn. Gonna miss your rankings, you always had some of the most honest and well-crafted rankings for Monstercat out of anyone, and I respect that!
Sad to see another ranker leave. You were honestly some of the few rankers that actually inspired me do ranking videos. Can tell this finale is gonna hit hard. Hope to see you make some small appearence in some videos but for now...... Farewell Friend.
Huge farewell, good ranker man! ✨ Without a doubt, you filled us with emotions through your videos and encouraged more than one to fully explore this legendary canadian label. I don't have any more words to thank you. We wish ya a wonderful start in the next stage of your life in every way, you're capable of achieving the unimaginable. Thanks for everything! 💟 - Israel Morales -
Damn, 2024 will be the year where we lose a lot of amazing people… It was enjoyable seeing your rankings and opinions on the many Monstercat releases! May you have an amazing future, wherever life may take you!
First of all, why Factor B remix at dead last, you buffoons? And Heartbeat, you skipped a beat by placing 2NITE at 50. Maybe you should give me 50 reasons for that.
Apologies if Nanobii enters this comment section 1. Falls flat compared to any other Nanobii tune on the label 2. Too predictable 3. Vocals are horrible 4. Including the vocalist's accent which I'm not into that much 5. Vocoder usage is horrible 6. Struggle to hear the lyrics 7. Make your title "Tonight" not "2NITE" (don't care that much just making reasons) 8. Production is out of date 9. Not enough impact on the kicks 10. Intro is off putting 11. 8-bit effects have hardly ever been my thing 12. I'm allowed to use a bad cover art as a reason right? 13. Including the text used for the title in the cover art 14. The song sounds like if Crayola crayons company made a song 15. The hi-hat in the drops could be better 16. Tempo is slow. A slightly faster BPM would help the tune lots 17. Since I'm on RU-vid this video hurts my eyes 18. Hardcore is not one of my preferred genres, very few are great 19. "Rally starts tonight" used too much in the drops 20. "Rally starts tonight" used too much in the drops (it keeps happening) 21. "Rally starts tonight" SHUT UP 22. ni ni ni ni NININI *NINI* into the last drop can take a chill pill goodness 23. Duplicated drop for the ending give me something else please 24. 3:19 isn't terrible, but I would like a longer run time. 25. Should have some resemblance of an outro instead of just ending after the drop 26. Song tries to be hype but it couldn't get me out of bed. 27. Bonus reason for simply disappointing me on the first release of the year. 28. Some mixing sounds fuzzy. Might just be me but if I'm getting to 50 I need minor details 29. In the second drop all the melodies being used before are just loud, they clash instead of cohesively. 30. The more I listen to it I'm imagining Teletubbies, which are annoying 31. Chipland is an amazing song. 8-bit done right. Can't help but comparing it to that. 32. Which put me in a happier mood than 2NITE did 33. And a much better BPM, showing Nanobii can do it 34. I'm typing this while I should be sleeping, which is my fault but whatever 35. Also NANOBII ROCK WAS COOL woulda been cool here too 36. The snares used to build into the Chipland drops were amazing, and weren't executed to the same level here 37. Chipland's drop melody is a lot better to me personally. Not a personal reason nonetheless. 38. Prefer songs that.. actually have a snare? 39. Last drop build happens too fast 40. Not much atmosphere 41. Which means I would struggle to club to this 42. "Here we go" sample, gonna act like I've never heard that before 43. The lead that enter at 0:41, don't like that saw, heard much better in other songs (Stonebank - Who's Got Your Love 0:52 is better) 44. Not enough dynamics, (piano-forte for us musicians) 45. Slippy's 2NITE is an amazing record with the same name, which debuted before this one 46. Feels like Nanobii messed around with the filter on the vocals without care 47. Not an appealing bassline 48. Overall wall of noise with the mid getting too much attention. The high and low ends needed help 49. My favorite ranking bro loves this song, disagreeing isn't fun 50. A commenter requested me provide 50 reasons, so I've been suffering listening to this song over and over. Not sure why I actually did this, and will never be done again 😂 All out of love @idkwhothisman
With Monstercat Silk songs, if the melody doesn't click and there aren't enough elements around it to keep interest, I could fall asleep to it. Most of the Silk entries were not ones I attached to. Respect to your work, and you've made music through Cloudcage that I've connected to.
I find it funny that Haywyre's release on Monstercat, which isn't really all that different from his stuff he's released independently of the label, gets him a spot on Best Of Monstercat 2023. It really feels like nostalgia-filled hype. It's a great song don't get me wrong, but it's incredibly basic in terms of what he's accomplished before.
Haywyre almost always hits the mark for me. This isn't nostalgia taking me over since this sounds unlike his previous Monstercat Releases, its just an addicting tune! With that said, I understand this perspective.
I was surprised when I saw 9/10 of my Instinct BO2023 picks made the list. Regarding Uncaged and Silk, there were a few good tracks on there, if not all of them. Finally, My Top 10 Monstercat Songs of BO2023 compilation is as follows: 1.- Teminite & Skybreak - Accelerate 2.- Haywyre - White Lie 3.- Bad Computer & David Fieldman - Calling Us 4.- Skybreak - Lightbringer 5.- Tokyo Machine - STEREO 6.- Crankdat - B.T.W. (The Whistle) 7.- Blanke & helloworld - Used To Losing You (feat. Luma & JT Roach) 8.- Grabbitz - Hero 9.- Aether - Sapphire 10.- Just A Gent - Pondering Minds
Glad to see someone likes Lost My Way. It's a lot simpler for Whipped Cream's style and I think if she continues in that sort of direction, she'll have better releases in 2024 .
