My dad was a teenager when WWII was happening. He thought that this show was an insult to the soldiers and prisoners. He wouldn't watch it but I like it.
F Y I esp you younger fans The actors playing lebeau schultz Klink hochstetter AND burkhalter were all jews. Robert clary who is still alive at 96 and john banner who died on his birthday at the age of 63 both lost most of their families in the holocaust. So it gives you a deeper insight into their portrayals
After Schultz, Major Hockstetter was my favorite character. You should have included at least 1 of his trademark "WHAT IS THIS MAN DOING HERE?!!! lines.
I Just Love How that SUPER LOUD SO CALLED MUSIC IS SO MUCH LOUDER THAN THE CLIP SOUNDTRACK, Making me have to jump up to turn the sound up and down! Super Cool!! Learn how to use a simple gain control or NORMALIZE THE SOUND!!
There was only one dark side to show. Bob Cappshaw was some sort of investigator for Los Angeles Police although relatives say he worked for LAPD... . Bo before his death stated there was something going on behind the scenes with things unmentionable surrounding 2 characters on the show but never said who or why. There was also a stunt man that was killed gang land style. It was stated that was when Cappshaw suddenly retired from LAPD in 1972. When things R researched and unearthed it seems LAPD denies Cappshap ever worked for em... How about that for rotten apples. It was said the shady business back then went all the way to the white house steps... Nowdays I sorta believe all of it... Cappshaw was a private investigator mainly working for casinos in Nevada from 1955 until 1976. Looking for records there few to none anymore. Now why ya spose that is???
This is one of if not thee finest shows there ever was where the cast actually worked to be funny instead of petty diffs separating them. Without Burkehalter and Hochstetter nothing would have worked either they were the funniest of funny. Klink her Wilhelm worked well not just in the cast but the role playing too, Cannot beat single cast member. Wilhelm bought my grandparents old Piano for a trading post paper ad. I actually went along to NY with my father and grandfather that delivered it. The guy was tops he could talk about anything. He was a really kind soul talked about Nazi Germany to my dad and grandfather. He knew quite a bit even predicted the times we are living in now. No BS either. Wilhelm knew communist and communism...
