The Excession from the Iain M Banks novel of the same name, was apparently linked simultaneously above and below normal space, which even the Culture ships couldn't do. They thought this meant it was able to travel instantaneously between different universes. Which sounds like it should count as fast.
This video claims that the Galaxy Class Enterprise-D has a top speed of Warp 9.5, but then says that's 857c, but that is incorrect. That might have been correct using the original series warp scale, but in The Next Generation, the warp scale was very different. Warp 9.5 equals 1,894.85c in the newer scale. That means the U.S.S. Voyager is wrong too. Warp 9.975 = 5,126.06c. And then the Prometheus's Warp 9.99 = 7,912c. Borg Cubes would have been past 10,000c, obviously. Then Star Wars is on a completely different scale - able to cross their galaxy in only a few days.
the Goa'uld Ha'tak ship is 32,000 times faster then the speed of light, and is very slow in comparison to the Daedalus, which is capable of traversing 3 million lightyears in 4 days, and is slow compared to the Asgardian O'neill class ship which cassually covers 1200 lightyears in seconds while towing Prometheus and has been stated in the show to have notably slowed the ship down, it later on tows the Prometheus to the Asgardians home galaxy Ida, which is a fictional galaxy but based on information provided in the show there is multiple real world dwarf galaxy candidates located about 4 million lightyears away, the O'neill covered this distance in less then a day while towing.
Number 13 is out right wrong. It was not the first ship to ever be called enterprise. There's another ship that's called (star trek) enterprise. It's literally the serie's name. Not sure how serious I should take the rest if you got something this basic wrong.
How is the speed of light 299,665,458 miles per second when it's actually 186,200 mi per second?? You show this at the bottom of the screen near the beginning. You also have it as 1,079,252,848,800 kph which equals 186,665,459 miles per second!! You're off by 100 million miles a second!! So I'm not sure how we can trust this whole comparison???

@@jonhenke1504 kph looks like kilometers per hour as it is 3600 (60*60) times higher than the m/s figure, however I think you are right that this one fails to divide by 1000 for the kilometers adjustment so is exaggerated by three orders of magnitude.
The data are wrong though. There is a BBC video on RU-vid about Victor and his team going to the bottom of the bloody Marina Bay. It was 10900m deep and there were Eels, fish around. It’s literally on RU-vid. How do you guys even do your research?
this was clearly done via someones fandom preference and not fact. star trek ships, especially federation ships, wouldnt even be able to get into the top 1,000,000 fastest ships in fictions. literally every Star Wars ship is faster, any Stargate ship is faster, im sure there are other fandoms that also annihilate this sad list.
In Disney Star Wars ships can cross half the galaxy in under 3 minutes. Sometimes it takes a an hour or two, it's completely inconsistent as fast as plot dictates. Whereas I believe in Star Trek it takes about 3 months to cross Federation Space at high warp, but even there there are inconsistencies.. but nowhere near the SW level.

How about the event horizon it travels at the speed of light. plus i seen star blazers ship the Argo all known as the Yamato , It did not say how fast it go's, but i googled it and according to google it travels 12 light years in a single warp. The Millennium Falcon cannot travel at a quadrillion c, if it did it could cross the Milky Way (and presumably the galaxy Far Far Away) in under _one second_ . Yet we saw that Han needed several hours at least to get from Tatooine to Alderaan. The Death Star is not faster than an X-wing. Etc.
Fastest ship in hard sci-fi (respecting special relativity): _Leonora_ _Christine_ in "Tau Zero" by Poul Anderson. The plot is that the ship (equipped with a Bussard ramjet that extracts all its fuel from the interstellar medium) experiences a malfunction and keeps accelerating with 1g for the whole book. Towards the end, they reach a significant fraction of the speed of light and can pass through a whole galaxy cluster in mere seconds of ship board time, thanks to time dilation.
At 0.9999999999999999999999999999999c, 5 seconds shipboard time will be 1,120,343,089 years for an non-moving observer on the outside. So their voyage through the galaxy cluster still takes many billion years, it just feels like seconds on the ship.
From the Ncc-1701D you mix-up warp scales. In TOS and films from that era thay used the formula : warp factor to the power of 3. In later series they use :warp factor to the power of 10/3 (or wf power 3.3333333) and also included the concept of infinite energy needed to achieve a higher speed. For Ncc-1701D, max speed would be 1815.85 x c For Voyager max speed would be 2136.53 x c For Prometheus max speed would be 2147.26 x c
