I wonder if it could have gone even faster with higher pitch props - they were on the rpm limit! Also that fuel economy is ridiculous hah, here that boat would cost just over £1000 an hour at WOT lol
Thank you very much for your comparison test ... I am in the market for 300 hp Mercury's... I am repowering a Boston Whaler 27 FC ... We use our boats for towing and Salvage work ... We tow vessels from Key West to South Padre Island Texas ... What would you recommend? Electric shift and throttle ?..Or Cable shift and throttle ? Very Sincerely, Captain Ron, Naples FL
Amazing that a center console boat went from 85 MPH to over 104 MPH in just a few years. I run 44 MPH frequently in a CC and get passed by tri-toons on the ICW. I steer clear of those rednecks. Who needs a 450 Merc-R on a tri-toon? Good luck on them avoiding a giant island at that speed in a barge with a racing motor.
Fountains are known for riding on top of rough water, not throught it. That's why they can do it at high speeds! I'll take one of these bad boys anyday over the competition out there.
