Two quick comments…..1. If you take the Cologuard test and it comes back positive your DR will recommend a colonoscopy to verify the results of the test. Some insurances will only pay for one screening test (the Cologuard) and not for the colonoscopy since now it’s called a diagnostic test. Also, according to my DR the accuracy of the Cologuard test is about 85% where a colonoscopy is near 100%. 2. The risk of death from the procedure is so minuscule that to me it’s worth the risk and peace of mind knowing my colon is free from polyps that can grow and develop into cancer.
I have been diagnosed with mild to moderate centriblar emphazema by CT scan . Dr hasn't sent me for pulmonary function test or to respiratory rehabilitation WHY ?
I am 71...5 years ago i was diagnosed with severe COPD , it was then i started practising BUTEyko.. 4 years ago i stopped taking ALL medications....i rarely cough.. i rarely have phlem ...and i feel Great!
Hi there, I did the color guard and it came back positive! I am beyond terrified, scheduled for a colonoscopy, if it comes back positive, I am seriously considering…….meeting God! I hope you did it and came back negative ❤❤❤❤
Some claim end stage is at stage 4. Some claim it at atage 3. I'm suffering a slow and agonizing death. Most in up with upper respiratory infections. Or drown themselves with to much albuterol summon nebulizers responsive along with moisture to Chromecast being put into their concentrators. Many of them I just put in tap water and they're moisturizers to their concentrators
Is a fit test the same thing the one that you get in the doctors office and you smear the stool then you bring it back to the doctors office do they test that the same way as they do colorguard?
I have been using cologuard for a few years always negative, but I also do a fit test that I get from my primary provider just to make sure they both come out the same results
The dr said my son had end stage lung disease. He did not expand upon this so this has been very scary for me. My son totally glossed over the “end stage” part and didn’t even notice the Dr said it but I caught what was said. He got TB 10 years ago and now only has part of one lung left. The dr nor the nurse will tell me what they think his life span will be. So I just spend as much time as I can with him. He has been on oxygen 24/7 for 2 years now. Before that it was on as needed basis, but not used often. Then he got cat scratch fever and that did him in because he did not go to the dr, he though he could heal himself with colloidal silver. Now he has a hole in his side he has to pack everyday.
Emphysema " SUCK'S" I'm having more flare-ups. When it hits it feels like I'm dying. I got another Lung function test on 12/18/23 I'm sure it has gotten worse. not sure If I can make it till I have doctor-assisted suicide. Just hope I can end my suffering, Myself before respiratory failure kills me.
Take a look at the numbers of false positives results with Cologuard. Why do most doctors fail to tell you of a Colography? No enesthesia or having to drink a ton of laxatives. The scam can diagnose everything that a colonoscopy does and more. I was an autopsy tech for 10 years and one thing that I've learned is to get a second opinion. Medicine is a business in the US. Talk about a mafia. Ask how many colons get perforated in a colonoscopy? To give you an idea. I had high cholesterol and was put on statins. Talk about getting sick from them. My PCP was giving me all this medical crap about plaque and dying. In three months my levels were back to normal. Was it the meds? No it wasn't. It was cutting out all red meat and taking fiber and exercising. On my annual checkup he looks at me and tells me how well the medicine had worked. Here's the surprise i gave him. A had a bag with over twenty bottles of statins with me which i poured of his desk. He couldn't believe it and wanted to know how i had done it. I personally don't trust most of them. Be careful or perhaps your death certificate could read " Medically induced death."
Just know that your Dr. maybe giving your phone number & email address to Cologuard & they will be calling, texting, emailing you all kinds of crap (pun intended). If I knew they were getting all this info about me, I would have done the colonoscopy.
I have copd don’t know what stage don’t want to know. I’ve seen men overcome it by exercising like --. So I started exercising just like they are doing. I’m seeing great results I use a form of bicycle machine👍. It has very large foot pedals and a very comfy seat with back support🦯I ride for2500 steps. Using pulmonary taught breaths . I kick it fairly hard. I’ve been doing it every other day for a month now. People try this if you are not doing very well and if capable of course. Get active with something that challenges your body and lungs
Good for you keep it up I’m severe emphysema according to Ct scan prob stage 3/4 ? I’m due breathing test so will know what stage I really need to excersize but also have osteoporosis with kyphosis and two fractures at the moment so I need expert advise on which excersize I’m going to try and do some very short walk as at the moment I can only just get around my small house feeling very breathless Baby steps and hopefully I can build myself up A big problem I have is humidity if that up I can’t even go in my garden or a car
It took a month to get the test, a month to get the results which were possitve, another month just to meet the gastroenterologist which took about 3 minutes and cost 300$, and another 2 months for the procedure. I'm a week away from the procedure and wondering if a cancer is growing and the lack of urgency by the doctor.
This resonated with me, I lost my dog and being heart broken, I didn't exercise for a few months I went downhill quickly, I have another dog now and am finding it alot harder to walk, I regret giving up exercise for those few months, hope I can build up stamina again, copd is no fun
@@1morchang Maybe for you. For me it was 55 years of smoking. I've quit completely but I've had it for along time before I got jabbed for covid. Don't be giving out false information to people.
I had been going to rehab for 1.5 years….i quit rehab for 6 months. It just feels good to rest and not do anything. I’ve never smoked. I’ve had asthma for maybe 10 years. 2 years ago they diagnosed me with COPD. I didn’t even know what that was. Now I’m Stage 3 severe. I’m starting rehab again Jan 3, 2024. Am I going to be able to live more than 5.8 years? Do I have any Hope? I’m 62. They did not find the COPD until 2 years ago. I think I had it a few years before that. I’m sorry; I’m just scared waking up to be stage 3 and I’m on oxygen.
This is so hard for me to understand my father is 80 and suffering with copd I don’t understand when he go to the hospital not being able to get a breath after blood test and X-rays they always say his lungs are clear and his lungs are over extended they also tell him his general health for and 80 year old man are amazing!
@@donnawashburn1638One thing I have learned about Doctors they know Grey's anatomy but, they don't know everyones anatomy. Each individual reacts differently to certain diseases. Sometimes you have to push the doctors to assure your loved one is comfortable.
His oxygen levels might be very good even with copd Mine are around 95 96 and I’m severe emphysema and struggle to breath I could breath better before I had respiratory failure pneumonia and then got covid just after I recovered Oxygen before when I smoked 92/93 and would drop in the 80s Stopped smoking 6 months ago can’t breath and get breathless most of the time 😅oxygen very good I’m 63 and can only walk in my home slowly
What about morphine for the end stage where someone is going through the dying process, surely it would help, if not just to trick the brain into thinking you can actually breathe!
I think it would make things worse. The only possible relief would be to take enough morphine to lose consciousness. Until that point you would struggle to breathe.
Yes morphine and Ativan are administered to keep the patient comfortable. I am in severe Copd. Stage 3. Probably getting close to stage 4 very severe. Air hunger is real. I am not afraid of dying but, suffering from air hunger is my fear. My Pulmonary Dr. Assured me that he wouldn't let me suffer. No DNR, just comfort care. Have "the talk" with your Dr. and family. Let them know what your dying wishes are. Have a living will, advance directives declaring your wishes. When I have good days they are great it's like I don't even have Copd. When I have bad days not so great. The more information you know regarding Copd the more power you have in helping yourself throughout this journey. Not being able to function on a daily does lead to some depression. So arm yourself with knowledge and take it one day at a time.
I had a negative then 6 months later new Dr missed it ordered a new one an it was positive. Now I have to have a colonoscopy and the wait period is 2 months.
I Have COPD. It didn't bother me at all. And then all of a sudden (two weeks ago) it got to where I can only stand one minute at a time. At which point, I lose control of certain body parts. My head, neck and upper body. It gets so bad, that I don't even think that I can ride in a friends car!! So I end calling the local EMT's. The last time, they sent me a bill(Fire Department) 355.00 Dollars. Maybe I should go to the hospital sooner next time. And I am certain that there will be a next time. I just want to make it to 64 years old. All the great drugs that I did, who could ask for anymore??? and I am certain the fire department) fire department
I have never seen a generous and helping being like Doctor Agboya who handles to me the cure to Tinnitus condition and this medicine perfectly healed me of my Tinnitus. All thanks to God for helping me find doctor Agboya on RU-vid. ru-vid.com/show-UCL_ksbGrUL6rQ14jtaTmhIQ
I'm laying next to my mom in the ICU right now. Stage 4 emphysema (COPD). -- My was told she had four years left to live.. A week later she gets sick, and was admitted to the ER. It wasn't even 24hrs before the forced onto a ventilator for a week. We have the tubes out and the ventilator.. It's really bad. Me and my sister are now sleeping with her until she passes or hopefully her chest clears up a bit, just enough to move around without being forced back onto the ventilator. My mom is very sedated and on fentynal. -- This disease has broken me.. And Canada doesn't have a few of the newer treatments out that can extend the life of someone with COPD. I've witnessed an absolute nightmare for going on 2 years. My mom is such a lovely human being, she didn't deserve such torture. Nobody does. ❤🙏🏻 Prayers for my mom and anyone else suffering from terrible illness.
I’m also Canadian. Researching and finding myself overwhelmingly disappointed because all the groundbreaking treatments are far from occurring here in the North. My Dad is desperate. And he is scared. Being his caregiver, seeing my once strong, tall, and active Dad wither away in front of me for 3 years. We are nearing the end. I’m terrified now that my son just started kindergarten… we all know that with school comes colds and viruses. How am I supposed to be his mommy and also care daily for my dying dad? Life is cruel.
Thanks for your kind prayers but let's hope some are answered for your mother!..Sounds like your strong & all there for your mother & I feel for you all as being a suffer myself it'll be me & my family sometime in the future, takecare of yourselves. Gary Stage 4 very severe copd from 🇬🇧
I like the immediate results of a colonoscopy vs cologuard. I had a positive cologuard but have to wait 3 months before I can get a colonoscopy due to lack of doctors in the area where I live. Also I don't think my insurance is going to cover the procedure so I'm stuck with a $1,500 copay.
User beware : If you get a cologuard test and it comes back positive, you will need a colonoscopy. But here's the kicker: a colonoscopy alone will cost you nothing, but as in my case a colonscopy following a cologuard test will cost me $300. And I have good insurance. I recommend just getting the colonoscopy and skip the cologuard step.
300 $ !!! That's practically free.Lucky my test came back negative, otherwise my colonoscopy would have been 2000$,because of my high deductible. But anyway i would have gone to Europe to take it,100 $ there.
@@jyotir_p9642Not a pleasant exit with this disease. But, rest assured in the end they will keep your loved one extremely comfortable. Between morphine and Ativan they will not suffer. During this time talk to your loved one. They say the last sense to go is the hearing. Even though they aren't responsive they can hear you.
The video is not about how reliable a Cologaurd kit is. Its a discussion on the process and procedure of colorectal cancer screening and testing in general. Just pointing that out for the next person who thought it was so they don't waste 20 minutes of their life waiting for that.
I just got a positive from cologuard last week. My first appointment isn’t until July 21st. Looks like a colonoscopy could be in the Fall. I am trying different places for earlier appointments. I have no family history of colon cancer. I’m not high risk. I wasn’t expecting a positive result. At this point I don’t care that I have to pay the copay. I just want confirmation either way ASAP so I know what my options are and a course of action.
@Lilly Lightfoot I'm surprised that it would take that long for a positive result but I was also told at my colonoscopy that they had encountered many false positives which could be your case. Also it's my understanding that most colon cancers are slow growing and take years to develop which is why they can go ten year stretches if you don't have any problems with one. I'm on the every 3 years list due to family history and because of my last results. I do understand, however, that it's something you would want taken care of as soon as possible. I hope you can get in soon and for good results.
my mom was one of the youngest person diagnose with copd here in dutch . she is now 51 and has gold 4 .. she has the hereditary my aunt and grandpa had it to
@@dc.pentrumesteri4893 my mom to , but she has one lung the other one is removed when she was diagnosed with cancer .. shes nou in the hospital for two weeks and they told us they cant treat her anymore .. wish you the best
“Ask your doctor today if Cologuard is right for you!”…ffff….you! Has nothing to do with whether or not it’s “right for you” and has everything to do with your ffff… insurance.
Can't thank Tim enough for helping me get tested quickly, prior elective major surgery, totally unaware. Guess that's why my dog would wake me the past 2 years at night!!!
Gee I learned a lot from this. NOT! Do they all read from the same script? There are many other causes besides smoking and second hand smoke. Worked a lot of jobs back in the days when nobody knew what a dust mask was.
What do you wanna know!?..Im not being smart but I'm at very severe stage 4 so if I can any Q's for you please just ask & you are right it's not all cigarettes & passive smoke!.
hello, what treatment are you taking, what saturation is it, if your chest hurts, back, elbows, what saturation do you have, etc. I am also sd 3.4 bpoc, pulmonary emphysema and pleural fibrosis, thank you
It’s interesting that none of these doctors care to mention that there’s a one and 2000 chance of a perforation (which can be fatal) with a colonoscopy. However with colorguard there is a 0% chance of that. Same with a FIT test.
That's a probability of 0.05%. For a medical procedure, that is far above average reliability as the average mortality for an elective medical procedure in the U.S. is 0.17%. That's triple the probability you mentioned! That's why they didn't bother to mention it. Because it's ultra-low! You're more likely of dying from a freaking boobjob! It's amazing how little grasp of numbers and probability some people have.
