I'm so glad I checked. I totally assumed that my kitchen microwave was mounted to the wall and not the overhead cabinet. I started removing the mounting wall screws from the cabinet, would have been fun to have the cabinet and a 25 lb microwave slam down onto my range!
I'm glad I could help!!! And thanks for the kind words and sharing your story. I think this is the best of the internet and youtube experience; sharing and helping All the best with your washing machine. Ours is still going strong 🤠👍
Hi, great job on the fix. I was wondering if you could send me a template of the movement part where the magnets go. I found one of these in a yard sale but that part was missing and the arm that attaches it to the motor. I fixed the motor but without the price with the magnets I’m shot. So if you can help me please let me know how we can proceed. Thanks in advance. Mel
Thanks for the kind words! I didn't save a copy of the plastic magnet holder. And I gave the one I fixed back to its family. Take a look at my other 2 videos on the skating pond ( parts 2 and 3). I replaced the plastic magnet holder in those. Hope that helps!!
What happened to checking intonation at the 11th fret? Making sure the bridge is sitting flush to / slight angle with the intrument top? Checking the tailpiece knob for security? Checking tuners and hardware for loose and/or missing pieces? 😉😳🤔
Great question! I'm not an expert, but from my research, the answer should be yes. But I'm sure there are situations where that may not be so. I read that the water heater is especially sensitive to higher pressure, so it seemed to be a good place to measure. What are your thoughts?
@workshopstudios43 My thoughts are that the water pressure is received from the either hot or cold water from the water heater (source) for the home. So, it would make sense that faucets would have the same pressure as the source. I had attempted to measure at the faucet but I didn't know how (still dont) and that's when I saw your video (pretty smart). 🤗👍👍
We have a spinner that is about 8’ tall. A strong wind broke the pole into two pieces. Do you have any info about how to replace it? The top of the pole is pointed. We’ve had it welded before but it broke again.
I used the jack stands, this looks a bit easier. Are you able to use the kick sensor to open the rear hatch? Mine just beeps and doesn't open when I move my foot under the rear bumper.
We don't have a kick sensor on our car. I understand that can be a problem with some car/trailer hitch configurations. Good luck sorting that out! And thanks for watching and sharing!!
My tablesaw came with those items, so I haven't had to make them. I have some specific jigs that have their own version of protection but that's not what you're friend needs. Thanks for watching and the great question !! Good luck with your tablesaw project 👍
Sorry about that. Lighting is always a challenge . I have developed great respect for the folks in the film industry and how they get the lighting right
Terrific video! Instructions did not come in the kit from Amazon. There are instructions on the site where these are sold but they are incredibly confusing. I have re-laced our chaise lounges now twice because it's that easy. Because of your video, I now understand what to do with the ends and where to double up on the seat part. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! I have been helped by so many folks who have shared their experiences on RU-vid. It's an honor to give back!! Thanks for watching and sharing your kind words!!
There is another video on how to replace the broken shaft torque pin inside the transmission if the pulley is not transferring power to the output shaft
Thanks for sharing. There is so much great content out there that has helped and encouraged and entertained me. I'm glad to be able to contribute in my small way!!
Was it not turning the shaft when you turned the pulley wheel before that cuz yeah mine feels stripped too and I'm hoping this fixes it because I ordered one and it was too short even though it's identical
You may have seen that my mower transmission was seized until I took it out and added some lubrication. So I didn't have to replace anything. I don't think my experience will help with your problem. Thanks for watching and commenting. Good luck with your repair
It could be. If the solenoid is completely locked up, then the metal pin doesn't move; hence, no click. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and your great question!
Half the “fun” is in the tinkering, troubleshooting, figuring out why it’s not working and if it’s worth fixing at all. I had no reason to watch this video other than the rink looks exactly like the one I have or had, and it is. Thoroughly enjoyed watching you go through this journey, thank you for sharing this. I am now a subscriber and look forward to future content.
@@workshopstudios43 - I’m on it daily for work related content and how to videos. I’ve put a few out myself for the same reasons as you. You’re a good man! 👍
Great question! I am not an arborist (tree expert) just a homeowner. The trees roots I cut in the video (and others I have cut) did not effect the trees. I have some experience with removing volunteer silver maples (tree and roots). My experience is that they are very hardy and would tolerate some surface root removal. Hopefully you have a trusted tree expert to help you with the root removal. Thanks for watching and sharing!
I used a copper tube cutter that is very compact. It allows me to get into tight places. You gave me an idea for a new video on tubing and pipe and how to cut and connect. Thanks!!
Thanks for posting! Many people who do not use bleach in their wash just unplug the power to that solenoid. A very low cost solution to a potentially very expensive water damage scenario.
It was a very enjoyable project, an economical way to have a SG clone and rewarding to play an instrument that you made!! Good luck with the build and thanks for watching and sharing!
Upon further review, in fact I just "binge watched" ;-) all three videos again right now. SO, last comment I made was on the rotation of the motor. I thought it should be going clockwise....but it should not. The AH HA moment is in your video showing that the motor must be lowered or dropped a 1/4 inch or so. That is big, Mine was also hanging up and the plastic tray with magnets getting caught on the shaft. I kept trying to bend and adjust the aluminum arm to the point of almost breaking it. I am going to try several rubber washers if I cannot find the parts you showed. I use Ace Hardware here as they do have the best collection or offering of odd ball sizes for bolts and washers. I am inspired by how much you put into this, and am determined to make it work again. My magnet tray is in pretty flimsy shape also, and I hope I can super glue the cracks starting to save it. More to follow.....
Larry, I'm overwhelmed at your determination! And honored and humbled that you would binge watch all 3 episodes : ) I didn't notice that small difference in the motor until trying to install. It eventually worked out fine, but I admit that it was a lot of effort to restore a Christmas decoration that can be bought on amazon for $120. but for us fixit folks its the journey as much as the destination. Looking forward to hearing more on your journey,
Your excellent videos and a fair amount of perseverance and patience enabled me to get the scatting pond back in good working order. Buying the motor is the way to go for it is not that expensive and for all the work to take it apart and the fact that the glue may not hold the gear together, it’s the way to go. The “spacers” to,lower the motor were also a must in fixing mine. The pay off for me was went I sent a video to our three grown up adult Daughter showing them I had fixed it, and one of them replied, DAD, THAT WAS MY FAVORITE, I USED TO WATCH THAT FOR HOURS. ❤️. She was also an ice scatter as a child. So can’t wait to get it out for Christmas this year and show it off. Thanks again for your instructions!
I am going down the rabbit hole with you, I have gotten to the removal of the motor and am not sure of the best method to remove the metal cover. So far I have tried a small screw driver to wedge in between the metal, but it is not budging. There are the very small metal clips that may need to be pushed out(?) to loosen the top. I don’t want to smash it up after getting this far in the procedure so any tips you can provide would be useful. I can see the gear is not engaging down the hole, so I may have the same issue you show in the video. Can’t believe there are this many people who have this product and want to fix it😂. Thanks for the video….and I hope to do what you did.
Larry, Congratulations on making it this far! Pilers should do the job. They don't have to bend very far. Just in case the motor is beyond repair, watch part 2 of fixing the skating pond. I replaced the motor in that video. As to your observation about how many people are interested in fixing this. The one I'm working on is at least 10 years old. If it is left on continuously during the Christmas season, it sees a lot of hours. 10 years is a long time for a Christmas decoration with moving parts. The design uses lightweight plastic, under powered motor, and doesn't have adequate ventilation to get rid of heat from the motor. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and sharing!
@@workshopstudios43 Thanks for the quick reply and I will try the pliers first. I almost want to send a photo.....I think Ill take a picture first for reference in case you can point out where I might be going wrong. I will watch the second edition as I am thinking the gear is split in two.......I could be wrong and wont know till i can get it open.......but thats what my gut is telling me. To be continued..........I think.........ill let you know how it goes. And THANK GOD for all the good u-Tubers out there that help us learn how to fix/repair almost anything!!
@@workshopstudios43 well…….tried to open the motor and it wasn’t having it……didn’t want to bend the casing to bad…..so I took your advice again and watched the second pond video where your wires came off……and took your recommendation to buy a new motor. It’s about $17.80 with tax and shipping, but that’s still worth the aggravation factor, and I don’t know how bad the gears are stripped and any other damage. So stay tuned I am hoping by Christmas 🎅🏻 I have this thing fixed! And again thanks for your video.
@@workshopstudios43 I have received the new motor which works fine and attached it to the housing. Now.....the problem is the motor after being attached to the plastic body is turning to the left as you look down on it, and it needs to turn to the right. I tried reversing the two wires to see if that would reverse the direction of the motor.....it did not. Oddly, I went back to reviewing your part one video and when you have the motor open (at 5:07) the gear is turning to the left, counterclockwise, then at 5:40 after you put the cover on it is turning to the right, clockwise (the white wires have the same orientation above the motor in the video on both frames) and when you attach to the plastic (6.47) it turns to the right or clockwise. It is as simple as I have to turn the motor around in the white plastic casing? It doesn't make sense that would change the direction.
Sorry about that! It's been a while since I worked on this but I think that panel has plastic tags that pop off when you pry the plastic Hope that helps and thanks for watching and commenting 👍 🙂
Yep! I feel your pain. I suspect the pros have specialized tools but it still requires patience and perseverance. Thanks for watching and commenting And good luck with your guitar!
I wouldn't consider it an acoustic guitar. It has bracing at the bridge that mutes the acoustics. And the pickups are mounted in the sound board. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍!!
That is strange! I'd I remember right that battery takes a while to get a full charge. Have you tried letting it charge for a long time (2 days)? The other possibility is that the charger isn't making good contact with the battery. If you have a multimeter check the voltage when charging. All the best in getting it running! And thanks for watching and commenting 👍 🙂
