I feel like you could be very aggressive with Soraka especially against aurelion sol since you can always ruin anything he wants to do with e. If you prefer enchanters I think Renata can also be played pretty aggressively.
Hey Zan, how do you maintain your chill and positive mental attitude? And do you feel like you tilt a bit more when you go off role? I find when I play support I tilt way less than any other role, even during times when I play adc a significantly more than support but maybe that's me
I will say that my attitude during recordings is because I'm trying to put on my best face. There's no need for me to rage during a commentary, but I may end up getting peeved during stream and there's a higher chance it will happen during off-stream games. But I do love playing support and learning how to be better at it, especially when it comes to healing. When I'm playing off-role, I get tilted at myself a lot more than others. I hate not knowing what I've done wrong and that's what makes me feel worse about my gameplay when I do get frustrated!
I’ve tried the ambulance soraka build, it was kinda like this build if i can remember it properly but the entire concept was; i was a roaming raka healing and running away T-T
Spirit Blossom Soraka is my favorite! Even though both Immortal Journey and Faerie court are so good as newer skins, Spirit Blossom just resonates with me more.
I miss Zan's TopRaka era, it feels like we'll never get another TopRaka stream ever :( Love the gameplay and 'a little bit of arguments in chat' made me spit out my water
I'll be honest, I think I enjoy her more and more each season as it progresses. I don't recall one that sticks out and says "I miss this season." I've been playing since 2019, if that helps you understand my perspective some more!
@@SupportZan ohh you hadn't tried the first set of Sorakas kit, fair enough that was a wild time back pre season 5. Yeah I think soraka has always been in a good spot and with this season complementing enchanters, it's a good time
I wanted to play aggressively and felt like Echoes would suit my playstyle for these matches! It works best for me if I happen to get it really early, say 12-14 minutes. If I'm delayed, I'd rather pick up Moonstone and forget about it
hey zan! awesome video as always! super unrelated, but i was wondering if you have any tips on laning against a Xerath support? i got my butt kicked by that a couple times this week, and it's been super frustrating! anyways can't wait for the next video! :D
Thank you for watching! My best advice against Xerath is to focus primarily on making him waste is mana. He doesn't provide any laning support outside of long range damage and a little cc, so practice dodging him and trading him after he burns his cooldowns! Don't try and be proactive, and a higher level tip would be to make him burn his spells on the wave and shove to your tower
awesome thanks so much man!! btw we lost our first college match this week😔 but it was a BO3 and we surprisingly won one of the games! so i’m still happy with it :)) thanks for responding!
Honestly I can handle all of the supports relatively well, but the worst matchups for me are Blitzcrank and Thresh. I bait myself into them or my teammates don't respect my heals and poke enough to let us slow trade and it's frustrating 😅 How I handle myself with them is that I try to simply play survival. Even if I have to let my ADC die because they're misplaying, I'd rather give 300g than 600. Also, if they roam and you cannot match them, depending on the wave state of your lane, freeze or shove, but definitely make sure the enemy ADC cannot get farm
this patch is so exciting and cool honestly, i love small QOL changes (balance as well ofc) :) also i always wonder, whats ur tips and tricks to stay positive and not tilt? u got any golden rules u follow?
My biggest thing is knowing that the next game is completely new. Nothing from the last game is brought over to the new one, so why bring your own frustrations? A deep breath, thinking about where you went wrong and how you can improve will make your next game better!
i don't know if you talked about it in ur video (i kinda just watched the gameplay 😭without volume) but do you think dawncore first then moonstone is a good thing? ive just been thinking about it since they revealed the patch. cause im pretty sure dawncore heals more bc of the ap and heal and shield power (but really only on single targets) but the extra stats on moonstone (specifically the haste and health) and its passive makes it hard for me to tell whether its better
He did talk about it. Mainly said that he prefers the utility of having Redemption second, over the higher single target healing of Dawncore into Moonstone. Not necessarily bad though.
Right, just as Michael says here, its a preference! So if you really want to build one way or the other, consider how you're playing into the enemy team. Are you poking and utilizing your AP across all factors, or just wanting to play back and heal and wait for teamfights later?
@@SupportZan im pretty pokey when it comes to early and somewhat midgame, but after that, i tend to focus on healing a lot more because i got more items. thats why i was thinking of the item path because early on, dawncore’s ap helps in all aspects and it has heal and shield power and getting moonstone a bit later kinda matches my transition into healing soraka 😭
Just remember how expensive blasting wand is and the completed item is overall! Sure, it got a cost reduction, but its still 2500 compared to Moonstone's 2200!
About the same as before. I don't play her as much as Soraka or Senna but I will certainly consider her when I need a big teamfight-oriented enchanter :D
Im a main support, also Main Soraka, level 120 by now. Any tip to get the hell out of Emerald? seems to be the new elo hell; i have over 300 games and havent been able to get out of it.
In my current experience, try and figure out when you need to push your limits with laning phase and overpower them. Tilting them early or roaming at appropriate time is how you get out. The mental game is VERY strong in Emerald. I wish I had better advice than that :(
i saw they nerfed moonstone a bit, do u think soraka still gonna be good? :0 i know this means more survivability with the other changes but what u think?
She will still be good! Remember that they're toning down everything, so moonstone's balancing is just for the sake of champions like her not overpowering fights with their kits! But.. I think we will see enchanter meta along with top lane/jg tanks!!
hey man! recently found your account, and i love your videos! i'm currently the starting adc for my college team, and your videos help both my adc and sup performance! it's really cool how chill you are even when people do some questionable stuff haha. your vids are super helpful for learning what not to do as an adc LOL. keep up the great work!!! <3
It's my pleasure! Always happy to provide another perspective! I hope that your college team performs and I would love to hear about your efforts there!
Dude I feel so dumb, I'm a main supp since always and I didn't know u could just sell the support item to change the upgrade u picked if u don't want it hahaha Also: Karma is the GOAT
Very good and thank you! Seeing you playing with Karma will help me a lot, I'm from Brazil and I played a lot of Soraka 6 years ago but currently Karma was being my main after having used Nami too, seeing your lives gave me a lot of nostalgia and I tried to come back with to Soraka and was already frustrated with my poor performance, Seeing you with my current main will be really cool to recalculate my route, I've been playing only ARAM for about 2 years due to my pregnancy and I'm having a lot of difficulty getting back to summner rift
Take your time and try and think about *every* possible playstyle you can that fits your needs! Whether its aggressive, defensive, utility, hell even just to simply not die as much as you can! You'll find your momentum and I absolutely believe in you! Also congrats on your pregnancy and I hope you and your family are happy and healthy!! <3
Watching these vids make me almost, ALMOST want to pick up League again, but it's been 8 years and I'm sure all my mechanics are not only outdated but have completely rusted out. I used to play the long range Raka game, myself. Because I didn't care for ranked play (I don't like the idea of champ banning, if a champ is strong, I felt like I should just learn how to get by regardless of the opposing team) I learned how to fight at max range in case of hook users, who were ridiculously strong 8 years ago. I do wish Raka still had her 'sweet spot' with her Q though. It was hard as hell to land, but super rewarding when you did.
Live vicariously through my videos for now! Enjoy what you do in your free time and otherwise. League will always be here, and I will never tell someone they HAVE to come try the game again! I hear a lot of good things about Soraka back in the day and it makes me wish I could try out those versions of her, even if it was in practice tool.
i really hate xerath such an annoying champion i struggle against him a lot as soraka as a support and even whenever he is in game he is really annoying but you did so well you saved varus and others many times you played really well
All he is good for is to be annoying in lane, nothing more! If you give him too much respect, you'll get poked out. Make sure to recognize that your heals outweigh his damage early! Thank you for watching ❤️
I've never had good success with tankraka. Even with lots of defensive items, she just melts in no time. Still, I really appreciate how you keep your cool.
I feel turning enchanters into tanks like Soraka and Karma is easier when the enemy team has an imbalanced team comp. I get shredded if I go tank enchanter and the enemy team is balanced.
Its honestly a matter of how much damage you're willing to put yourself into and how much you're avoiding. Of course if you're out of position and getting caught by 2-3 or more, it will feel useless, but your utility you provide WHILE mitigating stray damage or even an assassin's burst is really good in the right moments!
