I just know started up DQ VII after completing the Zenithian trilogy, and I don't quite understand why I already have over 100 hrs into this save file but my team is around level 15😂
Uh... no. The TSR games had nothing to do with the Buck Rogers TV show. It was years after the show had been cancelled. Some of the RPG games (Buck Rogers Cliffhanger Adventures) were based on the original comic strip from the 1930s, and some (Buck Rogers XXVc) were TSR's own modernized reboot of the original comics.
Well, I think it's hard to compare, but the SNES clearly had the better RPGs, not that the Genesis didn't have anything to offer, but so on games like Lufia, Secret of Mana Evermore, Terranigna, Ilosion of Time and some other good titles, the SNES was true for RPG fans a Mecka, at least for myself and I have both systems at home.
It’s been four years since this video. I’d still be interested in seeing the review of eternal legend for game gear. I love the idea of talking about gaming with ADHD ( I was just recently diagnosed, which surprised no one in my family). I don’t know how often you read these anymore, but I hope you’re having agood week, Daria.
Jumped on this after Silver Star and the camera kills me. It only scrolls when you are 2 tiles from the edge! For portable games, the protagonist should be in the middle with a tight camera. For console games, the camera’s leash should only be the center 1/9th of the screen (remember framing in photography class?). Wooo rant over
Try the final fortress level. I played that one so many times that I had it all memorized. I had to have 3 health bars minimum otherwise I couldn't beat it.
Fiore & Ashe are probably the worst, given my knowledge of how they're supposed to fit into their respective games. Star Ocean 5 takes place near exclusively on a medieval, underdeveloped planet. Magic (or symbology) is a thing, and Fiore is I believe a head researcher of it. The game depicts her as a cool and confident, serious minded woman who is focused on unravelling mysteries of the universe. Y'know, exactly the type to dress up like a prostitute on Halloween with an outfit that doesn't match any other character on the planet she comes from. Ashe, on the other hand, is a victim of desperately trying to inject character via visuals over actual, y'know, character. She's the once thought deceased princess of Dalmasca, who had to go into hiding. I guess nothing helps you blend in more than a hot pink super mini skirt, once again being worn in a pseudo medieval world. What bothers me the most with her is the promotional picture of her, posing with a sword, ass to the camera and just a enough of a hint of cheek hanging out...set against a backdrop of charging soldiers because a freaking war just happened and another one is in the midst of rising. The tonal whiplash screams desperation, but then again, final fantasy 12 as a whole is so completely devoid of personality that they did everything they could with overly sexed up characters to make up for it.
Actually Ricky is probably the better magic guy to have on the team. Solely because of less miss firing the invisiblity. While invisible nothing can get to you while walking about: hell hounds, security, mages, etc. Must be the power of Rat.
Fun fact: Phantasy Star was released two years before Final Fantasy. It may say on google that both games we’re made in the same year, just two months apart, but on back of the box art for both says otherwise. Phantasy Star I : 1988, Final Fantasy I: 1990
can't you appreciate it in it's actual context? this is an early 80s pc game. The NES version ls just a bad port. It was actually quite groundbreaking. Son't just give me projared's unfair opinions all over again.
You forgot to mention the mechanic where women are more likely to respond positively during different times of the month. Where each one has a time of the month where you cannot please them no matter what you do or say. I was about 15 when I played this so it went completely over my head.
This game is very interesting... Certain things were way ahead of their time, and I'm not just talking about the fact the story is futuristic, gameplay is very interesting, I haven't made it all the way through but it's pretty deep, and keeps you thinking. I had one person join my quest, after they got wiped out in a battle I found him in another town, he was mad, chewed me out for the fact he got beat in a battle, refused to join up again and started a fight, after the fight he said he wasn't going to join me again and would tell others not to join me 🤣😂🤣 Not sure if it affected my social status and reputation yet or not, which part of the game is managing your social status and reputation which gets you perks if you do it right, people share information with you or refuse to share information with you depending on your reputation, just one of the interesting aspects of the game.
Love the idea i had an n64 xmas for myself for 2023 it was the best i just try my best to sticj to one system at xmas whichever in playing the most of🙏 wish u kept making content it is very helpful for someone fairly new to the rpg world
This is a great video. I was born in 87, grew up during the technology boom and thankfully was able to own basically every console throughput life. I've played most of these games. Both Shadowrun games are great. Especially if you're familiar with the tabletop. Thankfully to save time we can still enjoy these games with faster frame skip
