Not sure. Tough to drive 3 hours 1 way for a terrible fishery (as of right now) sad to see the lake in its current condition from a fish population standpoint
@@DROutdoors18 I have been going north for over30 years every opener,we have been too a lot of different lakes. Some good some bad,a lot of times it’s ice out time that makes the difference.anyway love your videos keep up the good work.

My parents almost killed me on that lake when I was a kid in a 12 foot aluminum fishing boat. Don't go out is the tops of the trees are moving from the wind. Does anyone know anything about a logging lodge on the north end of the lake? The shoreline was all rock.
Great video. Hello from BC. I just love grubs. Some of the things I like about them are, they are way easier to acquire and keep in good condition opposed to live bait. They work on pretty much every species of fish, you can imitate anything a fish eats with them by changing the colour and how you fish them, you can fish it in almost every way, lots of people don’t throw them so fish are typically not used to seeing them. They work scented or unscented if you have allergies or going into restricted waters. And they are usually pretty dang cheap.
Wow awesome job guys. I was up there in 2000 and caught a few. I’m from Extreme Southwest Michigan, make a friend used to go up to Munising and a bass fish Murray bay out in Lake superior, my buddy grew up up there and his family is a family of original loggers Who started logging in the early 1900s throughout Munising MI So every year we would go up to visit the cemetery and do a little fishing while we were there and one day we decided to go down to Manistee lake and it was a good time, I would love to go back one day and spend more time on it Casting jugs is my kind of fishing.
Incredible fishing and great video! It's unfortunate you have to drive 300+ miles to get this kind of result. The lakes in N. Michigan used to be like this... not anymore.
Nice to see a northern fisherman using a med or med heavy rod. I see so many fishing med lite and miss fish because they don’t have enough back bone in the rod to get the hook to penetrate
Those flicker shad lures are my number 1 trolling lure. Especially #7. The green color you were using is a great one and the purple one is also a favorite. Like you I love the planer boards. I set my drag as light as possible so I can use the clicker on the reel as a strike indicator. Great job guys.
@@DROutdoors18 Fishing vids don't need music, we wana here the sounds of the outdoors and boat bantor. And the loop music gets old really fast. But just my opinion, it's your production. Even TV hunting and fishing shows are going way overboard with the tunes.
Went to dog lake early ice out April 18;just made the fishing real poor for us and everyone else.nice time had but everyone in our party were not happy with fishing.came home 2 days later fished Detroit river 18 walleye. Everyone happy.
We kept 2 walleye per day for 4 days...enough for dinner and a couple to take home. 8 walleye in a week is not an over harvest...we threw back 100 on the last day alone lol
@@DROutdoors18 Mann ( Tom) baits used to sell them. Do-it has or had a mold to make them. They were popular with smallmouth fishermen on the highland reservoirs in the south. I made them and sold them to tackle shops around Nashville many years ago
