I'm going to be honest here... Within the first minute I was going to close the video and find a different one (Never seen your channel, immediately seemed slow paced). I'm glad I didn't. The way in which you described and compared these two scopes and compared them to one another was perfect. Awesome information, thank you.
What do you suggest for budget set tactical games setup. I want to attend the skirmish events this year but I don't have everything yet. I currently have an 11.5 with eotech. Would attaching a suppressor increase the velocity enough to make it comparable to a 16 in barrel. Also would I be ok with adding a magnifier to my eotech or is an lpvo necessary. I looked at the lpvos but many of them have bdc reticle which would not match the performance of an 11.5 barrel if I'm not mistaken. Does running an lpvo only make sense if running a 13.7 or longer barrel? Thanks
This was a very well presented video -- I've got the NX8 and want to get an Atacr or possibly a Kahles or S&B or March for another rifle, and it's nice to see more info on the practical differences of the Atacr.
With the NX8 being available for around 1500ish I think it also present an extremely good value as well since the ATACR is still like 2x that for the slight improvements you get.
You mentioned options in called and uncapped turrets. I haven’t seen that option on any sites when I look at them. Do the turret caps come with the optic and is it your own choice to use them?
I love my nx8 it has the fc reticle but I absolutely love it…. Bought a plxc as well and I hear a lot about it and I like it but nx8 is better….. I’m gonna sell my plxc to go towards atacr
I haven’t had any true eye box issues with my NX8 either… I’m pretty sure most people who claim issues are either being unreasonably picky or parroting complaints because they don’t understand the purpose or both
I’ve seen a lot of people talking about how the plxc eyebox is so much more forgiving…. Ya I have both and the nx8 smokes it…. To me the nx8 is better all around
What rifle do you have your NX8 mounted too? I finally today got a chance to look through one first hand. I absolutely love that reticle! I have a Scar 17 I want to mount it on.
They are different. Nightforce uses slightly different shades of FDE anodizing between their ATACR and NX8 lines. This carries on beyond just the 1-8 scopes. Just another way that they use to differentiate the two lines.
8x is plenty, and when you’re talking magnification and distance the most important factor is clarity. A 10 or 12x scope with lower quality glass can make it very hard to see a target that you can see clearly with a 6-8x scope with high quality glass.
Helpful video. I was under the impression that we needed to have BUIS on our rifle setups. I am still determining my setup for my first games coming up in 3 weeks.
Great video, I’m competing in the 2022 Sawmill SC event, any recommendations on footwear? I’m torn between an option that offers a lot of ankle stability over mobility, haven’t found any videos out there.
All great info. I am registered to compete in an upcoming TTG event but will be coming from Canada, so my AR platform has a very long 18.5 on barrell (Canadian laws…). Will this be a major hinderance?
I forsee this becoming nothing but a bunch of crossfit athletes taking over these competition's to the point that your average American that wants to compete will never ever get the chance!!!!
That’s why there are several divisions, it’s on the sport to keep it available to everyone and there are currently 3 levels to compete in, not including the age divisions. Including the age divisions there are 5 levels.
@Jared Halbert . Thanks for posting this video. Super helpful. I got the new vortex 3x micro magnifier and a spitfire ar. What you said made sense about it taking me far in my shooting journey. My question is on setup. I know that you first set the diopter on the spitfire then flip the magnifier in place and set the diopter on that. I have a question on how far to have the magnifier from the spitfire. Is it that if you have it too close or too far you wont get a full image of the spitfire from the magnifier? What do you recommend as the best steps in making sure the distance is set correctly. Thanks again for posting the video.
