Hey guys its not fucking easy job. Those fancy videos doesnt make our job easy. I m a chief officer on a chemical tanker but I cant even say hello to my wife most of the time. Its a shit job ever.
Hey I'm at merchant mariner as well. I agree with this guy. The worst part is if you have a family you barely get to talk to them because reception is unavailable most of the time. This job is not always sunshine and rainbows. It's 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week for MONTHS on end.
i also tried to become a engineer o ships, but my motivation was i felt lonely in life and to get out if need to change anything, but i am not doing any job related to sea, i just do some simple jobs and trying to do some small promotions
