We’re Jess and Jon and at the end of 2022 we quit our jobs to travel the world and started making RU-vid videos. We love to travel and we think driving around a country is truly the best way to see it. Whether by car, bike or our favourite, by campervan. We love to explore the whole of a country, seeing the tourist spots along the way but most of all, the off the beaten track destinations where you experience a country in its entirety.
We absolutely love campers and despite having tried a fair few we still have no idea what the ultimate vehicle looks like! So we decided that as we enjoy making them we would build and try as many as we can, building each one with a specific adventure in mind from our bucket list!
We post new videos every Saturday at 7am (GMT) and we’d love it if you’d join us on our adventures 💙
I just got started trying to copy this build. Mine is on 199k I'm expecting to have a some expensive mechanical problems but it drives really nicely so fingers crossed. Do you remember what the size of the crawl through was? I'm a bit nervous of taking the angle grinder to it.
Great van conversion so many great ideas using a Toyota Hiace and there are plenty of them of them around and i didn't know you did a 2 inch lift on the Hiace until you told us
I don't know what the algorithm has been playing at but I only found you last night when searching for something "van build UK" specific yet have been an avid watcher of van lifers builds and travels for YEARS and this is the first time I've seen this channel pop up! How you've only got 84K with this great content, I have no idea.. Banter is top banana.. Cannot wait to get stuck in to the red truck I see in more recent content too. This is right up my alley!! Safe travels guys... Or safe tool operation, depending on what you are up to right now
I spotted the driveshafts when you were doing the bump stops in the front end and I noticed the rear axle diff when you had the camera under the rear in the last video. I didn't know Sainsburys specd these as 4x4's !! or is that a lottery too?? (pretty sure not all chassis cabs were 4x4.)
@@truebluetravellers I was thinking that would be a steal if it was, just went back and re-looked at the video and I guess I mistook the track rod sticking out of the steering rack as a driveshaft and CV boot I could see at 16:14 in the suspension video.. Well bugger!! haha I wasn't going to mention it as I didn't want to put the kiss of death on it... I was watching an ex police 4x4 sprinter at an online auction today but it's already sailed past my budget with 22 bids so far and it only opened this morning at 10:30am... haha Well bugger! x2
Hi Jon & Jess Hope you both doing ok. Been on a binge catchup through your vlogs and liking the camper conversions. Appreciate some of the comments below like the crude and smuttiness bits but it spoils it for me, you have some great content and having a lark about is fine but the crudeness now and then is not for me. Appreciate it's your channel of course and you can develop how you wish so not a shout just a bit of genuine feedback. Hope all goes well for you guys. P
Thanks very much for the feedback mate, I totally get where you’re coming from as I watch other channels and they will do something I don’t like too, but now being on the other side of it I realise that there is nothing I can do to fix this, every week we get messages saying don’t be crude, don’t try and be funny, don’t put music in, don’t talk as much don’t do sponsored adds, etc etc, everyone has a different taste and opinion and all I can do is just be myself and try and make a good video, the last thing I want to do offend people but if 80k people watch a video there’s just no way I can please everyone, but if it’s not for you anymore I’d just like to say thanks for watching 👍
We've heard all about your useful tools Jess but is there any truth that the adjustable spanner cuts about in pants filled with swarfega and ball bearings when you're not about? Anyhow great vlog as usual and please consider a Landrover fc 101 with a radio body for the next conversion would love to see what you could do with that.
A really good way to build the bed, thank you for that insight, I find your tips and tricks really helpful. Also I was very relieved that Mr Chilli was around today!! I have been installing a new alu window frame for mounting a new window so I found the Claco pins really helpful in mounting the frame and also the tip to use the angle measuring to compare to nearby pieces to get the installation looking 'square'. Great ideas. But I remember watching your video some weeks ago where you talked about electricity taking some time to travel along a cable. I was concerned about this as I am going to need a fast response to switching on - so I am going to keep the cable as short as possible but this mean that I have to make quite a lot of bends into the cable which I think must slow down the speed of the electrics so I am concerned that I won't get a good supply of electricity to the unit! What advice would you give to solve this issue?
@@truebluetravellers Morning! What a great piece of advice - thank you so much. On a more serious note thank you for your super videos and especially the excellent advice that you offer. You brighten my saturday mornings!!
Pissed myself laughing, Filip Flop. And then you pull out a 4WD Supercentre paddle board in the middle of nowhere, LOL. And those "Casetas" that you call them are actually called "Chiringuitos", come on guys, your in Andalucía, get with the program. Mind you, I haven't been there myself in about 40 years. I'm loving the Volvo van build though.
I might have slated you for snowboarding but I have skied for many years and whacked my head on the "not so soft" snow many times. Helmets are a must for me, in fact the only time I didn't wear one was the week I learnt to ski. I've crashed at 30 mph and 55 mph and both times my helmet saved me from a trip to the hospital with concussion or worse so yeah helmets keep you safe! That lid probably saved your life or at least saved that lonely brain cell!
Loving this build too, and don't worry about all Jess's moaning about buying cordless tools Jon she will end up using them more than you. I have noticed she can't put the cordless riveter down after swearing blind you couldn't have one on the fridge van build. You are awesome though Jess!
@@truebluetravellers classic Jon reply🤣looking forward to seeing big red in action and how you have gone all electric, and very keen to see the tweaks planned for the fridge van 😎
Jon search your 3d printing store for an adapter to connect the Kreg Mini to a Quick Grip. I did it recently with tape and glue and the speed you can do pocket holes in is something else. made a quick vid here I was that impressed with it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IHc_URxEujI.htmlsi=hwRPFULQawXrGulO
Just got back from Austria, in the Pinzgau region we saw 2 Pinzgauers being driven on the motorway. Got unreasonably excited to see them in the wild...
I truly hope John never got his Plums Stuck between the Slats on the bed as that would be a whole new video which would've had the fire brigade laughing their heads off.... Keep up the cracking work guys
Elephants in Kenya, up close and personal. In fact so up close and personal I nearly got trampled! Totally not safe but so worth it for the photos I took.
