Hi Huckleberry,The most important thing to remember when fishing a drop shot is to have a Sensitive rod,I use 10 lb braid to 8-12 lb Segar Gold label fluorocarbon leader and when your retrieving make sure your line is tight all the time so you can FEEL THE BITS that’s the most important thing usually when I feel hit, I’ll wait one to two seconds and then set the hook. Drop always always work all around and I always fish from the bank.
And yes that somebody was me my friend and I caught about a 2 to 3 pound smallmouth on a sexy shad Kevin Van Damme 2 to 4 foot diving short paddle crank bait got it within the first 20 minutes of being there about 10 after eight in the morning couldn’t land them though I was about 30 to 40 feet to your right fishing right off the brake of the Rapids where all the big rocks are
I would call out a golden carp…. A hunk of stale Italian bread and throw it on top float fish that bad boy he’ll eat it. If there’s a mulberry tree, there’s carp they love the mulberry trees along the passaic River… mulberries or stale Italian bread no wait just a hook right before dusk and you’ll get huge carp out of the Passaic river

I’m thinking of Fishing Henderson pond for catfish today or tomorrow, I seen some photos of some decent channel cats in there, any opinions or experience with catfish there ? I basically just fish for Carp and for catfish because I run live stream on my RU-vid channel about five times a week thanks man and tight lines.
@@Njfishingmaniac 2 of the best baits for Catfish are A bluegill cut in half or live or raw chicken mixed with jello powder doesn’t matter if it’s strawberry or cherry, you can also use chicken liver, but like I said the two best by far are any type of fish that’s cut up and the raw chicken just wash wash your hands once you’re done handling the raw chicken or bring something to clean your hands

I don’t know where in the Passaic River but the river I remember for decades was muddy brown water with tires and other debris. I know pike tiger musky were introduced. Not too long ago I remember seeing geese for the first time. It’s promising to see some recovery but I would never think about eating anything from that water. Factories dumped dyes and toxic chemicals for years. Especially when the textiles were in business. Fish on. Hope you carry a Glock in some of those places.
