Hello from New Zealand, I stumbled across your video, which I thoroughly enjoyed watching, I have to say that MontFoort reminds me of Elburg, just wanted to say thank you for sharing this amazing video,
@@reinerdykeman thank you for your comment! New zealand is one of the most beautiful places on Earth! You live in a beautiful place too! I go a chance to visit the country in January 2020 and had a great time there! By the way, there is a video about Elburg too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vMtoXPCH0s8.htmlsi=2TC4QjzrY3ySJ3G1

What a beautiful little city; I am a new subscriber and look forward to watching your other Dutch videos. Thank you for your time Robin, it is very much appreciated. This is the type of history that I like to learn about
I remember like yesterday 😊🎉❤❤❤ when we arrived as refugees from Somalia. The year was 1990 until 1996 the happiest years of my 36yr old life 😊 it me and my mother and my 3siblings I attended a school called Van kinsberger school we lived in two places in Elburg Clakenweg 86 and then luttenkenstraat 21 .We then moved to Amsterdam Zuid oost we now live in London for the last 25yrs I will always keep Elburg in my heart I think about it everyday 😢for the rest of my life it is in my opinion the greatest place to raise your children 🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤ the loveliest community ever to the people of Elburg I thank you and especially the Haas family and of course Hilde Haas our gateway to Nederland and the western world the Girl the family who showed us the way when I was a child the refugees
That's a heart warming story! Thanks for sharing! I can imagine that you miss Elburg a lot. I'm glad that the lovely people from Elburg were able to help you and your family. I can imagine that life in London is very different... I wish you and your family all the best in the future!
Thank you for creating such amazing footage and documentation about Elburg! I live in the vesting (town) for 13 years now, you even showed my home (a little bit). Also my father in law is an archeologist on the Veluwe and also speaks at arent thoe boecop from time to time. Thank you again! (volgens mij kan ik gewoon Nederlands praten, maar voor de zekerheid haha).
The harbour is very special because the wharf it the only wharf in the Netherlands that make and repair those traditional flatbed ships called “the botter”
As a child i loved the batavia. I hope i'll be able to go there some time again. Thank you for your videos, they bring back a lot of fond childhood memories. I subscribe to your channel
Thanks! The Batavia is fantastic to visit for both kids and adults. For me the ship was more impressive in reality then I thought it would be. I can imagine that you loved it as a child.
What a delightful video! I applaud you for the informative, well-executed text. (In het Engels!) I must now visit Elburg. (Ik woon in het schitterende Middleburg maar ik ben in Californië opgegroeid. Ik ben gek op deze oude, sfeervolle plaatsen.)
Thanks! Elburg is highly recommended! Coincidentally I will spent my next holidays in California and surrounding regions! I'm leaving for the states in a couple of days... As a geographer I love nature. I can't wait to see some of the most beautiful national parks like zion, bryce and the grand canyon. I will also drive from LA to SF. Unfortunately no time for filming there as I'm traveling with my family. Anyways, California is also an amazing place to grow up!
@@robindiscovering Goedemorgen! Hartelijk dank voor jouw compliment. Nederlands is eigenlijk mijn derde taal. Goede reis!
You should bike! Much more to see! I live close by. Many old (around 1000years) villages and small towns there and farmland. Close by the river Rhine, the old smaller Rhine, the 'Hollandse IJssel'......and many many small waterways with all different names and purposes. Many of them dug by poor workmen. As everything is closeby a tourist can easily bike from one place to another.
@@urbandiscount and Schoonhoven is said to be quite nice too. Plan to visit soon (by bus). The whole route from Utrecht, Gouda, Rotterdam is nice, especially in Spring, by the local bus.
