I thought removing it was hard but installing it is even harder, cussing up a storm here cause the brake master cylinder threads aren’t aligning properly

I watched your overhaul video and it was very informative. When you removed the bed from the Sambar, how much does it weigh (not exact just a wild assed guess) with out the sides and rear gate. Can two people lift it?

Hey thanks for the comment and the question. they bed weighs around 70-80 lbs if I was to guess. I have done it my myself, but really awkward. With 2 people it is very easy.

@@jacobcarrillo9171 They are ITP wheels, 4x110 with 2” back spacing. I hade to use 1” adapters to go to 4x100. Thanks for watching.

I have a little secret for you, sir: Unbolt the other side of the caliper; and swing it up so that the side w/ the brake line slides out and off. then, of course, secure it up and out of the way to keep it safe. On re assemble just regrease the boot and slider and you're good to go.

Great video! Im currently in the process of trying to get my spindle out the back of the rotor. I probably need about 2 or 3 more inches. Problem im running into is that I have no clearance... inner boot where the spindle goes in is completely tight against the lower control arm. How do you get more clearance?

I think the big lift this truck had helped with the axle being shorter due to the crazy angle. Not sure what you can do with a stock set up other than maybe breaking the lower ball joint.

@@turnbullgarage88 Thank you for the response. I actually just maneuvered the jack to the lowest point under the control arm and was able to get that extra clearance. Didn’t need to take out anything. Just lined it up straight and pulled right out between the shock and sway bar link👍

@@derickdoveglass engine is stock, just a rebuild. Exhaust is a 2” pipe with a stack. It has a glass pack and a resonator that I custom fabricated.

unless that oem Ford mount was bad you should have put it back in. Aftermarket motor mounts are not made as good as the originals!!!

@@turnbullgarage88 1L5Z-6038AA AND 1L5Z-6038AB Those should be your part numbers. One of them has been discontinued through Ford but the other is still available. OEM parts are usually terminated after 10 years from the manufacture generally.

@@SargonRose I made some 2” blocks myself and also bought a 2” lift kit for a full size truck at a garage sale cheap and used some of the blocks. Yes, had to cut and extend the steering shaft 2” as well.

@@turnbullgarage88 Lot easier from what I can tell. 3 bolts unbolts a brace for the bottom all accessible without removing all the suspension stuff.

@@Bawkrit’s way easier. Did both sides in my driveway, 93 2.3l. Took about an hour and a half. Didn’t even disassemble any wheels, brakes, suspension etc

For the record, the Subaru and Suzuki both have options for round or square head lights. Also carburetor or fuel ejection is available in both. My 1999 Subaru Sambar has square lights with fuel injection and my 1996 Suzuki Carry has round lights with Carb. There are a half dozen different makes of these and there are good reasons to get any of them.

Great videos! I have a 2016 with 17k miles and my clutch pedal got stuck to the ground once. Think I’ll go ahead and just replace the master cylinder. The McLeod clutches really no good? My car is stock now but I have to supercharge and run around 700hp.

Thanks, but these videos were poorly done as I didn't do any editing. For road course track days my new McLeod clutch was done due to the warping of the floating plate. For normal spirited driving I am sure it would be ok. Super light pedal but a little noisy at low RPM in gear.

Just finished watching the series on the Carry rebuild, very informative and it was excellent work on the rebuild and everything else that went into documenting this. I just bought a 2000 Carry and am waiting on its arrival to me here on the Olympic Peninsula. I agree with your wife, the new intro is great! Thanks so much for doing this, very much appreciated.

No, not at all. Just loosen the fuel cap so no pressure builds that can slowly weep fuel out of the line.

Top tip. Invest in decent tools. The tool you are using will ruin fasteners sooner or later.

Ring spanner, must be from UK. I’ve had no issues with my tools and stripping of bolts is not an issue unless they have been severely rusted. 45 years of using tools I consider myself to be somewhat proficient. Thanks for the comments and suggestion.

This video was of no help for the 1999 Sambar. We need a lot mor videos spacificaly for the newer body Sambar as there is nothing. I've been battleing this for hours as a mouse has crawled up in my dash and died. It stinks! But I have 1 little thing I can not find for the life of me that's preventing the complete removal and now I've already broke 2 things trying!

@@turnbullgarage88 Thanks. It's hot as hell and aggravating to the max. I believe I need to pull the bottom steering column off but there are 4 screws. 2 were easy, the other 2 are recessed 4" deep with a 1/3" hole to get a screw driver in but not be able to see or get a grip. I'm no little guy, that's why I gave up the previous body style and got this bigger cab, so this kind of bending over in the heat out in a stuffy garage and smelling rotten maggot mouse and breaking parts is enough to make a guy go insane! lol

Couple of those brackets looked like a big pain in the ass my son has the exact same vehicle that needs the timing belt change no water pump leak but will change it also but the coolest thing about this video is working with your son.

I'm a month out from getting my sambar dump and has no ac. Gonna retro a universal hotrod system in it..... definitely will hate life getting the cluster out but more so I'll have to take the brake fluid reservoir out
